Hotel is tired, as are many of the rooms. Understand some have been renovated but have never been in one of those despite my 6 days per month. Refit going on but must be just a few hours of work per week as has been going on for 18 months now with very little sign of anything !
New gym with plenty of machines but changing area is very small and shower area is in urgent need of renovation.
Hotel has its own beach area but it is pretty run down and dirty.
Buffet - breakfast great. Dinner - too much dried out fish and dried out meat. Starters and desserts + fantastic. Mexican - OK nothing special and not popular with our group. Lebanese - food generally bland.
Staff though are excellent - nothing is too much trouble and most always have a smile.

Positives: Staff was very friendly, and helpful especially Mr. Noni at breakfast time. They allowed me to checkout an hour and half later. Services level are really outstanding
Negatives: Garden area around the beach should be renovated in a much better way. No pool and outdoor sitting area is available especially for evening time and no cafés are available as an outdoor option. You have to walk 3-5 minutes from your room to reach the beach.

Renovated rooms are great. Although room size is the same, new furniture and layout makes the room more spacious. Bed and mattress very comfortable. New shower is very nice. Breakfast buffet one of the best anywhere. All staff are great, never saw a frown, only genuine caring people. Lobby area has been freshened and looks bright and clean. Just a great place to stay! Makes working into a vacation experience.

As a westerner I can say nobody goes to Jubail for fun. Its not an ideal holiday destination (in my humble opinion). The staff in the intercontinental did their best to make my stay as pleasant as possible. I asked for a chess board and was given one from the game room immedtilay, very nice service!!
Best hotel in the city!

Gym, steam bath, sauna, Jacuzzi, great, but the beach is really enjoyable.
All the food that I has was excellent, both at the room and at the restaurants.
To give points where it could get better:
* The table at the room is too low for the chair
* The security gays going to the beach (leaving the hotel, and entering at the beach facilities, both) could be much more polite. The should ask for your room number, but they could do it in a much nicer way.

Location was excellent , rooms were to the best need , food was good receptionists were veer friendly and very profesionals , room amenities are complete and good quality , friendly staff , warm welcoming and excellent beach facilities in addition to quick check in and check out.
Pluming network and hardware to be renovated or maintained better.

I've visited this hotel many times, and have had various experiences.
The hotel lobby reception is on the 3rd floor and central to the hotel, which is undergoing refurbishment and has been for 2 years, so is slowly improving.
On thus occasion I stayed on the 4th floor, South wing, left and side of the corridor, which is a 'club' room, so provides access to the club lounge until 10pm.
The bed was exceptionally comfortable, and is in a quiet side of the hotel (those on the opposite side of the same corridor do get is turned by the adjacent Mosque at 5:15am).
I used various dining options in the hotel, all are good quality and the staff are keen to learn what they need to provide an improved service.
Unfortunately, because this is after all Saudi Arabia, the hotel ones have as relaxed a feel as other intercontinental hotels in the IHG group, but the staff do what they can to provide as comfortable a stay as possible.

Actually, the hotel provide good services and looking for better treatment for the customers who spend more days in hotel in the year., especially for the customers who have a membership.

I always receive a good service in the hotel lounge and cooperation.
Currently, there is no competitor for the hotel in same city.

From the minute you walk in to the huge marble-floored lobby of this hotel, it is beautiful! There is no place in Jubail that can compare with this hotel and its services. They stay full or near full, so that speaks for itself. I ate breakfast & dinner there almost every day for 2 visits totaling 10 weeks - and I looked forward to every meal! Plenty of variety, fresh fruits, vegetables, many different meats & meat dishes, and great desserts.
Above all, I was so humbled by the servant-heart and attentiveness of everyone: the concierge staff, the food servers at Al Tuwayah, the health club staff, the young men who service the rooms, deliver clothes, newspapers, and assist with anything you need.
They have made room improvements and are doing overall renovations in one wing at a time. I can't wait to see what it looks like when I return!

I used to stay at intercontinental group hotels and always I'm satisfied especially when staying at the intercontintal hotel as I consider the best of the group hotels, but this time I was disappointed and not happy.. The rooms are too old , the bed is not comfortable, the service is bad, the club lounge to small....the hotels in badly need to be renovated and renewed.thnkx

It is really great to stay at interContinental Al Jubail, the room was nice and the amenities are perfect.
All the staf are friendly as i have requeusted an item and immidiately they came to my room and handover the item. Room is very clean and didnot imagine the whole concept of the room , relaxing and feel that you are in home.
Perfect destination and we enjoy a lot the Beach as we came on that private beach the breeze is realy refreshed you. Theres a small lagoon in the middle and a bar man that will serve you for any needs that you may require..

I have been staying at this hotel for over 8 years and in that time a lot of improvements have been made but the general outlook and everything else about this hotel speak OLD AGE....
Though efforts are underway to modernize but it is taking way too long and the quality of rooms that are on the older wing is suffering. The internet is too slow and a constant problem.
Saying all that I will only stay at this hotel in Jubail as it is amongst the best in this part of town. I am sure once refurbishments are done it will be quiet nice from inside but a small matter of doing something with the aging facade will pose new challenges!!!

In a word: Excellent. I stayed at the hotel for 6 weeks straight on business. Some key points beside what's listed above are; never was a piece of laundry lost or damaged, two light bulbs burned out and the A/C didn't work well, both only for a day. I did not report it, but the next day maintenance came and repaired both. It was reported by the housekeeping staff as part of their room cleaning checklist. I have never seen this in any hotel in the world. All staff were friendly and helpful. At times it was surreal, like the old days when people were proud of their job and wanted to do well. It did remind me of Japan where similar service occurs. I wasn't happy with the bed pillows, called housekeeping, they came with three other choices, one of which was perfect. This hotel takes extra effort to make one's stay comfortable...and for 6 weeks that's important. Excellent

I have stayed at this hotel for two nights on a business trip. The moment I walked through the doors the staff met me with a smile, a hotel towel, and an instant upgrade. The room was great, very clean, spacious, and comfortable. The facilities were very good. I had breakfast and ordered room service twice. The food was fresh and very tasty. I would defiantly go back to this hotel and would strongly recommend it to anyone going to that area.
