Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by A lot of problems, but certain staff stepped up At check-in, I was told that there are no rooms with one King Bed, but only a room with 2 Queens. While I questioned the accuracy of this and if the beds were indeed queen, I was assured that this was the case. Upon reaching my room, I was disappointed to see they were 2 twin beds. I called down and despite being told at check-in that there weren't any rooms available until the next day, the front desk staff said that housekeeping will have a room ready shortly with a King bed and I was moved. All through the night, the AC made a horrible loud clanging noise, which made it difficult to sleep. Also, I guess in the haste of housekeeping to get the room ready, they left a used soap bar in the shower...not a pleasant feeling. In the morning, I complained about these issues and informed the staff that I would like these issues resolved when I come back at the end of the day. Upon my return, no one had dealt with this, so I spoke with Raafat, the Concierge. He immediately handled the situation and asked me to go pack my things while he arranges another room for me. I was upgraded to a room in the Deluxe Wing, which was spacious and very modern. While the early part of the experience was not as expected, it was resolved to my satisfaction and the effort was clearly there to ensure I was happy. 26 May 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great place to stay in Amman I stayed at this hotel with my wife and kids during my vacation trip to Jordan in April 2014. The Intercontinental Hotel in Amman has a history of excellence and has maintained it till today. Our stay is a testimony for this. A hotel is recognized by its customer service and the comfort it gives to its customers. I have no doubt in saying that this hotel has excelled in this. The hotel is sitting in the heart of Amman and is an easy exit to most of the places in and around Amman. We enjoyed the breakfast at the main restaurant and it was excellent with a wide variety of traditional dishes. The club lounge is one of the best lounges, overlooking the city of Amman. The staff at the club lounge made us feel as we are at home. I would like to thanks Lana, Bashar, and Hasan. Our stay would not have been a great experience without the customer-centric guest relations team. Special thanks to Siwar and Ola for their excellent reception. Both of them took care of our needs. My family was very much delighted with their caring style. 22 May 2014

They were short, and would answer questions and requests for upgrades (which we were happy to pay for) in an abrasiveness manner. We were supposed to stay there 2 nights but left after the first night because of the unpleasant experience with the staff. 20 May 2014

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by confortable room but average breakfast service I use to be a regular at the Interncontinental Amman however I failed to stay in the hotel for the past 18 months. I was surprised by the very poor orgainzation of the breakfast area. The service was bad as the waiters were overwhelmed by the number of people at the restaurant. The cook at the live food station was using his hands without any gloves. This is not usual at an Intercontinental hotel. This said I believe the hotel is still very good and I will stay in it next time I am in Jordan. 13 May 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great location - good security Favorable All aspects of the hotel were good to excellent. The security is well managed and active 24 hours per day. The associated support shops around the hotel also add value and convenience. The gym, resturants and pool areas were clean and efficient. Needs Improvement The hotel is overpriced by probably 10% compared to other hotels of equal quality. The bathrooms in the rooms are difficult to manage when there is more than one person staying in the room. Consider matching the rates of the taxi service or steering customers to use them rather than overcharging for hotel cars, customers will spend more of their money when they feel they are being given the best deal and rate - this probably hurts your interal shops. 11 May 2014

The breakfast staff were nothing but fabulous and courteous - and ever attentive! The gym/spa staff (especially Dina, Nazeem, & Luba) were fantastic! Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Renovation is needed and then it's Worth 7 starts " The overall stay is Wonderful. Staff are very friendly while check in that quite changing during Checkout". Hotel is accommodating quite Old furniture. Amenities within the room isn't up to the level compared what should be expected from Intercontinental. Food is Awesome !!! Rooms clean and comfortable with luxurious bathrooms and thoughtful details. A standout inclusive breakfast in the Atrium--a bounty of multicultural options from grilled halloumi, flat bread and za'atar to espresso and fresh viennoiserie. Dining options include Indian, Lebanese and Mexican restaurants. Friendly staff; spa, indoor and outdoor pools; central location--an almost perfect package. One issue to note, however: for a hotel brand that prides itself on its green credentials, the proliferation of pointless printed cards around the rooms ("For Your Valuables" by the safe, for example) and huge bath towels sends out the wrong message. 30 April 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great Staff I stayed in Amman and explored northern and central Jordan - Jerash, Ajloun, Madaba, Karak & Umm ar-Rasas - from there. Mahmoud at the concierge's desk was a great resource. He was helpful with suggested day trips and patient when responding to my many questions. Ziyad, a bartender at "Cinco de Mayo," was friendly, fun and made tasty drinks. I enjoyed my stay at IC Amman and it served as a great home base for me. 27 April 2014

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by A GREAT place to stay in Amman We had a wonderful experience at the Intercontinental Hotel, Amman. It is a beautiful property with all the amenities you could imagine. The creativity in the flower arrangements in the lobby and restaurants were fabulous!! Being from Texas, we ate at the Mexican-style restaurant in the hotel and were amazed at how great a job the chef did with preparing our meal! The chips and salsa were delicious at the start as well as our main course and satisfied our 'craving' for Mexican food. The room was large, the bed extremely comfortable, and they even had pillow service if you wanted different pillows during your stay. We are so used to having ALL restaurants as non-smoking, that it has us 'spoiled' and wish that every place followed that policy! We will definitely recommend the Intercontinental in Amman to anyone heading there. From the moment we got there till the time we left we felt 'indulged' by a VERY competent staff. 31 March 2014

I had a glass of white Jordan wine with my dinner at Cinco de' Mayo. The wine was without quality, and the price was 10-JD. THAT, is not good value #and there are better JO white wines.#. The staff here is knowledgeable, professional, polite and genuinely invested in ensuring that each guest has a comfortable stay. I have stayed here for both business and leisure travel.
