Amman (Jordan)

Rated 4.4 out of 5 by 236 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by home away from home Excellent service and excellent staff! Always looking to make my stay a pleasant one 22 August 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Jordan InterCon I think the hotel is a good hotel. The location is excellent and the rooms are priced above average, but still OK. The staff and service are excellent. The only issue I faced when I stayed there was the renovation work that was being done. They started working outside my window, with a drill, at 8AM.. Now I understand that the hotel needs to upgrade and improve, but there is no reason to rent out rooms that are directly in the path of the renovation work. All in all, a very good hotel and I would go there again. 19 August 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Overall Service The shower was leaking to the floor from between the glass and the wall. Washbasin was leaking to the floor from the pipe. Considerable noise from floor above and neighboring room. A charge of 18JD appeared in my final bill for minibar usage which I did not use. A charge of 1JD appeared in y final bill as ‘donation’ without taking my consent or even pointing out the issue to me by the receptionist. Bad management of at the breakfast area, the same manager who seated me at a table seated a couple at the same table while I was at the open buffet. 19 August 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent Service It was excellent stay and the service was excellent - The lobby is always busy and live and the restaurants are of very good quality. 17 August 2013

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 excellent experience in the suite Passing first night after being married in this suite was an excellent and memorable experience. Large and decorated bed was very impressive. Very calm and clean suite made our first night relaxed. 10 August 2013
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Overpriced and poor value for money Don't get me wrong, the staff were very friendly and helpful. However, the hotel itself was very overpriced for what it was. There were continuous problems with the internet. The breakfast buffet was average. The gym was cramped and there were only female massage attendants, no male ones. The pool was nice. Although, the hotel itself is average and poor value for money, the staff were very good and friendly. 05 August 2013

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent servvice! Intercontinental Amman is my home away from home. For three plus years I have been a returning guest. The staff is what makes me want to come back! I know them by first name and they always greet me at the first sight! From Anas to Haidar to Abdulrahman to Sami... they all go above and beyond to make guests feel at home. I can't say enough praise. Thank you Intercontinental Amman for making my stay away from home an enjoyable stay. 01 August 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great Facilities and location, but very loud The Intercon Amman is stylish and has great rooms, amazing gym and pool. Decent service average for 5 star, and good location. Great restaurants. The weddings and the band that are on almost every single night are way too loud and prevent a good night sleep and prevent windows from being open from around 20:00 until at least midnight, during Ramadan sometimes later. 28 July 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by practical location, great staff WHAT I LIKE Practical location. Comfortabel -but expensive- taxi service, Excellent food, very tasty. Great and diverse breakfast. Staff very willing to sort things out for you.Wifi available,Nice indoor pool, jacuzzi, sauna, steambath, sportcentre. Wonderful bookshop, also rough guides availlable of Jordan.Wonderfull other shops as well. WHAT I DO NOT LIKE Wifi unfortunately not in the room. You need to pay for the use of the computer if you use it more then 15 minutes at the busunees center. Not possible to drink alcohol during ramadan at the restaurant terrace. Outdoor pool is closed after 7 pm I would love to lie down there watching the stars. 24 July 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Always a great experience We have now stayed at the Amman, Jordan, Intercontinental on six occasions in 2010, 2011, and 2013. It has always been a great experience, and for this the staff must take full credit. The restaurants are excellent and the location is now easily accessible from the airport, given the new road system. My wife and I look forward to our next visit. 11 July 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Well furnished and pleasant look room, internet connection problems In fact, I enjoyed my stay at Intercontinental Amman. From first instant, I felt really welcomed and staff were really friendly and professional. The check-in process went very quickly, however, I had to wait for about 30 minutes for my room to be ready which was not bad if compared to other hotels around the globe. The bed was really comfortable and the room size was perfect for my stay. I have to say that I liked the furniture and the decoration of the room. The only inconvenient was due to repeated Internet connection problems. I successfully logged in for the first time. Then, when trying to use my purchased credentials on the next days, it was not easy to do so as the landing was not available most of the time. I tried to ask for help, but unfortunately no one was able to do so. Anyway, my overall experience was excellent. 05 July 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent service It was a great experience. Enjoyed the quality of services and staff are really friendly. 04 July 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Service is not good Compared with other intercontinental hotels in the region, service is very disappointing: long and incompetent check in and out, staff overall is not very friendly, and room cleaning is not consistent. Staff from the Phoenicia in Beirut could provide guidance on excellent service. 25 June 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by My home in Amman I can never imagine coming to Amman and staying at any other place but at the Intercontinental in Amman or at it is known by the locals as "Fanduk Urdun" (Hotel Jordan) since it is the first 5 star hotel in Jordan established 50 years ago. The rooms are comfortable, the restaurants are fantastic and the staff are polite, personable and polished. 17 June 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Best hotel in Jordan Big hotel with nice rooms. Nice restaurants with great location. 10 June 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Outstanding Business Travel Lodging I stayed at Intercontinental Amman 9-23 May on business, and my wife was able to travel along. From first arrival and recognition of my Platinum status, to room service competing with my wife in making towel animals and turning our room into a honeymoon suite, to full breakfast buffet offerings, to a fully outfitted fitness center to work of the stress of my workday, Intercon-Amman once again proved itself as my lodging choice for Amman. When our group recognized key staff, and invited the General Manager and his subordinate managers to participate in these employees being recognized, they continued to extend this hospitality, even giving each of our traveling party a 50 year commemoration print, which now graces one of the walls of my home in Tampa, Florida. We would definitely desire to stay here again. 06 June 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 Friendly staff and comfortable stay The experience with the staff was amazing from the valet till the check out. Especially the dry cleaning service, they were super and adapted to my short notice request. there was a little bit of leakage in the bathroom tub and box that made the bathroom floor overly wet, but wasn't really discomforting. Would definitely consider Intercon for my next stay whether in Jordan or somewhere else. 28 May 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Friendly staff Friendly staff, nice room with nice location, best indian rest 25 May 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Stayed in Better Hotels We stayed at a number of hotels in Jordan, mainly Kempinski. Also stayed at hotels in Egypt and Israel. This was the only hotel in our five week trip that charged for wifi. Your high charge is ridiculous. Also had to ask for replacement tea and coffee makings and bottled water. These were not replaced automatically after day 1. We stayed three nights. The glass shelf over the minibar had not been cleaned in a while. 24 May 2013
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Unjustified Credit Card Debit & Lack of Duty Manager responsiveness The double upgrade suite was nice and the personal touches related to my status well respected. The Concierge was very helpful. However, a major issue occured with my arrival flight being delayed and my party arriving before I was meant to. I called in the hotel to let them know this and ask staff to allow them to leave their luggage in the room. When my party arrived they were required to provide a credit card. Three times the roomrate was directly withdrawn on it immediatly. But the booking had been pre-paid online with my own credit card! That debit should not have occurred, an imprint taken eventually (although the room was paid for already and I had given instructions), the "security amount" withdrawn was far larger than the one night stay's room rate. Despite the unjustified debit being flagged on the checkout day to the staff, despite a conversation with the Duty Manager promising to keep me informed and to call me back after Accounting verification, despite several other attempts to get in touch with the Duty Manager, there has been no reply and no credit back, the issue remained unresolved more than two weeks after the stay. 23 May 2013

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by One of the best experience in overseas hotels It was a great and enjoyable experience in this hotel. One of the best hotels ever stayed in overseas. Key success factors were: 1. Quality of the newly renovated property 2. Friendly Environment and Staff 3. My needs are well taken into consideration and delivered all. 4. High customer satisfaction 5. Property and facilities are excellent 6. Availability of the right staff at all times 7. Excellent management and coordination between hotel managers (Rami and Ra'af) Keep up the excellent services and hard work 19 May 2013

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by An iconic hotel with examplary senior management I have been to InterContinental hotels all over the world since the days of "Six continents Club", so I can easily say that this hotel ranks among the top tier of the chain when it comes to quality and personal attention from senior management to any shortcoming, however more training might be recommended for receptionists on how to render personalized service at least to elite-status guests. 12 May 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great Location! Overall a great location, great choice of restaurants in the hotel and within walking distance of many other great ones. Unfortunately I reserved a non-smoking room, but when I arrived was given a smoking room. when I called downstairs to inform them I reserved a non-smoking room they told me that I would have to wait at least an hour if I wanted one as they were full. Definitely try to the mexican resturant downstairs- the margarita list is fantastic! 30 April 2013
