Welcome To Berchtesgaden
Welcome to the InterContinental Berchtesgaden Resort, located in the Bavarian alps 1,000 metres above sea level. I am proud to work in this great area and offer a warm welcome to all of our guests.
At a height of 1,000 metres the scenery between Watzmann, Untersberg and Kehlstein, surrounded by Germany's one and only Alpine National Park, is simply impressive. Nesting in the midst of untouched nature the InterContinental Berchtesgaden Resort sits like a horseshoe among lush mountain pastures on the eastern outskirts of Berchtesgaden, just 30 kilometres from Salzburg.

RECOMMENDATIONS
MORNINGThe perfect day starts with the glorious sight of the snow-capped peaks of the Bavarian Alps from your hotel-room window. Greet the morning at Rossfeld Peak, a panoramic spot where you can enjoy croissants and freshly brewed coffee while the guide points out the surrounding mountains. You'll also have the chance to see the last surviving eagles in the area. Come back to the hotel and take in the view from the heated outdoor pool. |
AFTERNOONYou will be intrigued by the rich local traditions of this once-remote corner of south-east Germany, and one of the best ways of experiencing them is with a boat trip over the picturesque Lake Hintersee. Complete your afternoon with a visit to a truly authentic beer garden. The Auzinger offers the best succulent roasted pork with Bavarian dumplings in the whole Berchtesgaden area. After the rich meal, take a walk in the National park, where a ranger can show you the wonderful variety of alpine plants and wildlife. |
EVENINGTo finish the day, have a relaxing glass of champagne in our Chimney Lounge. Dine at Michelin-starred restaurant LE CIEL where the Head Sommelier can recommend wines from a collection of 4,000 to team with gourmet French cuisine. Finally, relax in the Rocks American Bar, with one of the most spectacular whisky collections in Germany and legendary cocktails. |
