Lake Königssee

The lake is inhabited by a wide range of freshwater fish including salmon, trout and catfish. Lake Königssee's landmark, the chapel of St. Bartholomä, can only be reached by boat. This world-famous church, originally dating back to the 12th cent., lies at the tip of a picturesque peninsula.


School of wood-carving exhibits and art exhibition

Diverse exhibits from Berchtesgaden’s school of wood-carving can be admired during a tour of the hotel. You’re bound to be enchanted by the modern, creative interpretation of this traditional craft. In addition, well-known regional artists present their artworks in alternating exhibitions.


Salt mine

Deep down underneath the `Salzberg´ mountain a secret world awaits your discovery. For many years, only the salt miners in Berchtesgaden were allowed to enter the complex tunnel system. Today, part of the mine – which has been in operation for over 500 years now – is open to all fans of adventure who wish to get to know the place where the famous Bad Reichenhall brand salt originates.


Royal palace Berchtesgaden

Palace Berchtesgaden, after 1810 the summer residence of the Wittelsbach family, was once the center of a small spiritual state of the Augustinian Canons. In the following period, they gained the imperial immediacy and 1559 the status of a prince provost. Until 1803 the monastery was the residence of the rulers.


Mozarts birthplace

The house in which Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart was born on the January 27, 1756 is now one of the most frequently visited museums in the world. No other place makes the person behind the artist Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and his music as palpable as his birthplace in Salzburg.

Driving Licence

For maximum flexibility and to allow you to fully discover the area, rent a car when you arrive at the hotel.
