We visited the IC Berchtesgaden resort at the end of February with my wife. I had visited the Eagles nest once before, so I knew the location of the hotel.
Well, the location is one of the best part of the hotel. The view from the hotel was amazing. Room was nice and spacious. And the service excellent, as usual in Intercontinental hotels.
We visited two of the restaurants, including the breakfast. Food quality was superb. Bit expensive but worth it, though.
We were planning to visit the resort again during the summer but the sad news about the hotel changing the brand changed our plans. It sure is sad that the wonderful IC at the Alps will not be IC for long.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Caramellino what a pleasure
The location is outstanding and close to the tourist spots above Berchtesgaden. It is a short escape from our home town Munich and we spent a long weekend. We enjoyed every minute of our stay. When arriving, the Concierge service was immediately available to take care and arrange everything for our luggage or for our car. The check-in was a perfect welcome for a couple to celebrate a nice weekend. Quick and anyhow time to have a drink of refreshment. Some snow was falling in the afternoon but the panorama studio hosted us for sunshine and blue sky the next morning. The room and bath offer space to move, all amenities available, a big walk in shower is there, air-condition or heating are easily to adjust.
The pool, indoor and outdoor, with different temperature give options to spent time next to the Gym and Spa area. We only used the SPA area with sauna and steam. Compared to similar 5-star hotels inside or outside the ihg group, the SPA is not really up to the level where it could be. Foreign guests might perceive the sauna and steam area as too small or not sufficiently developed to host men and women with private space. Some facilities could be improved and would help to underline the resort character.
We enjoyed the evenings with dining at the 360 and Le Ciel. Either of the restaurants is absolutely worth to visit and we were happy to be guided by the staff through our degustation experience.
It will be a pleasure to come back.

Great pool and spa.
Poor value dinner at the cafe and don't understand why one has to pay for parking when you have to drive there and that there is space aplenty.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by C-Love Perfect stay. I want to go back.
Completed a one-night stay at the Intercontinental at the end of February. From pre-arrival to post-check-out, the whole experience was fabulous.
We have a large family and needed two connecting rooms – but we also wanted to cash in IHG points for our stay (award night rooms don’t allow for connecting rooms). I emailed the hotel and arranged everything beforehand (had to pay for a room upgrade for both rooms to get connecting rooms). The process was very smooth and seamless. When we arrived in the late afternoon, our two rooms we ready (roll-a-ways already in the room and made up). We were also given the last two rooms on the hallway, so that one of the rooms had a fireplace and a view from two sides of the room – absolutely beautiful view!
The rooms were great. Furnishings were very modern and clean. The beds were slightly hard for our taste but we didn’t mind as were tired. Our older kids did mind the windows in the bathroom that opened up into the room. We ended up stuffing bathrobes in the windows so they didn’t feel exposed as they bathed.
The mini-bar was complimentary – which the kids (and me and my wife) loved.
The pools were great. We swam outside in the snow for a few minutes and then swam in the inside pool. Both were clean and a pleasure to be in.
Wi-fi was free and we had no issues.
Parking was EUR15 and in a secure garage (kept our car out of the cold, snowing weather overnight).
We didn’t eat at the hotel, so I can’t comment on the food/service.
Check-in/check-out process was relatively quick and easy. Staff was very friendly.
We ran into a few other staff members in the hallway or at the pool – ALL of them were very friendly – greeted us with a smile and were SO willing to help and serve. They really made us feel like valued guests.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by KMPeterson Beautiful rooms and views
We loved our visit to the Berchtesgaden Resort and certainly plan on returning. The hotel is perched high above the town and has incredible views over the area. Our room was beautiful and arranged to make the most of the view with big glass doors that we could open and take in the view. The room also had a fireplace which created a very cozy atmosphere. We were really impressed with the breakfast buffet which had an outstanding selection and all of it was very good. I would highly suggest getting a rate with breakfast included because the hotel location doesn't provide for any other options for breakfast unless you go all the way down to the town.
It is easy enough to get to the town by using the bus, which you can ride for free. It is also quite easy to get to Salzburg with a 30 minute or so bus ride from the train station. We were there in the summertime and the area around Berchtesgaden and the hotel has some wonderful hiking.
We really enjoyed our visit and certainly look forward to returning.
