Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Pippa J Pleasurable visit to Berlin
The hotel is in a very good position - we were able to walk everywhere we wanted to go. The staff were friendly and helpful. They found out train times for us, and when we misunderstood the opening times of the dining room, for breakfast, the lady in charge helped us to get together a packed breakfast. We were then able to catch our transport and have a meal.

Attended a major conference at the Intercontinental in early December 2014. The hotel caters admirably for a very large influx of guests, maintaining a smooth and quality operation. Room was excellent in all respects.
Only took breakfast at the hotel, but this was excellent with a great range of local and international fare - the 'bubbly' at breakfast was a welcoming touch.
The hotel is well situated for exploring Berlin, with a local bus service right outside the hotel. Airport transfer is also easy - about 20 minutes by taxi.
Special room requests were handled very efficiently, with staff always anxious to please.
Only one issue - availability of internet access, but this may have been due to very high usage by conference goers.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by 00smith00 Excellent Staff and hotel
First off, I have no connection with IHG. We booked a weekender break, which with the breakfast (more of which later) included, seemed a very competitive price, so we upgraded to a deluxe twin room on a high floor. The room was spacious, comfortable, clean and quiet. The king bed lovely. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here - Berlin was pretty cold when we visited and it was a real comfort to come back to a nice room at the end of the day and relax.
As they say in German (I think), the hotel is a 'big house' - i.e. it has a lot of conference rooms, and a lot of rooms and so you never feel like its really crowded. That was until breakfast at the weekend, when everyone came out of the woodwork and descended on the breakfast room all at once. However, even when pretty busy, the staff were always polite, attentive and obviously worked hard and as a result, the breakfast operation worked like a well-oiled machine. There was also a very wide variety of fare to suit all tastes and cultures.
Although a large hotel, the staff always seemed friendly, informed, relaxed, attentive and professional and actually added to the quality of our stay. If we had any slight negative comments, they would be - 1. front desk forgot to tell us on arrival that you need to swipe your room card in the lift before travelling in it. and 2. the evening food and drinks in the hotel were a liitle pricey - but of course that was our own choice. All in all we would stay in an IHG Intercontinental Hotel again.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Mbel_ga Great hotel!
I was really impressed. I got a good deal with the room rate, and requested a High floor and quiet room. When we arrived, before check in time, we were checked in by a trainee at the Front Desk. She was very pleasant and told us that because of the specific requests that we had for the room, that it was still not ready.
We waited and came back at 15:00 and it was worth it! We got a room away from the elevator and on a high floor. The rooms are amazingly redone, in a very modern way. Bathroom was really big and the showers were amazing. The room was beautifully appointed, and we had an amazing rest! The beds were really comfy! And no noise at all!
As well, we mentioned when we made the reservation that we were celebrating our anniversary, and the Guest Services Centre sent us an amazing amenity, a bottle of Prosecco and some red berries along with lovely note! They were extremely thoughtful and it was a great gesture!
The hotel is perfectly connected with bus 200 to anywhere in Mitte, you get there in about 20 minutes. We were happy to stay in the west side, and were not disappointed. Very safe neighbourhood and lots of places around. Potsdamer platz was very close by, with the 200 bus, and you can find lots of things there! We were recommended to go eat at Lutter & Wegner, and we had the best wienershnitzel ever!
One night we ordered room service at the hotel, we were very tired and did not want to go out to the cold, and it was excellent. Prompt service, we ordered a burger that was amazing, and great quality as well. The gentleman that brought the tray to the room were very courteous and pleasant and set everything up really quick.
The guys at the Concierge Desk, especially Martin, were very nice as well. They told us where to go and what there was to see.
We actually came across the hotel because of their introductory video that the concierge Mario has on the website. We thought it was a very nice idea, and after the whole experience, we were definitely very happy!
Being a fellow Hospitality professional, it is really nice to experience everything on the other side, and have someone take care of you for a change!
Luxury and comfort, at a very accessible price! Will definitely come back.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by paul122 Great room, good service, convenient location
The service was perfect, the room was a knock-out and the location is in a convenient central location for exploring Berlin as a tourist. The weather in Berlin at the time was sub-zero therefore warmth was key - the rooms were warm, but the pool and lounge were a little cool. We were extremely happy with our stay and would recommend the hotel.
