Rated 4.5 out of 5 by 479 reviewers.
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Panoramic City Side View, Excellent Staff, Super Bathrooms Just spent 4 days at the InterContinental Boston and can wholeheartedly recommend the hotel to all. The hotel team was terrific, especially manager Anilda. Room and View: Although our first room was lacking (it faced the opposite room tower and only offered a partial city view), she found a solution and gave us another double bed room on the second day of our trip. Our new room on the 11th floor overlooked the Emerald Necklace/Rose Kennedy Garden and the firehouse (Somehow, you never heard the sirens-excellent insulation.) via floor to ceiling windows. They provided a beautiful view of downtown and a peek at the Charles. Comfy arm chair with ottoman and a brand new 55inch tv-fantastic. Krupps coffee maker-great! Gym: Their gym also has the same floor to ceiling windows and city view. The pool was spectacular, although we didn't have enough time to use it. The Spa looked very clean and the staff was attentive. Restaurants: Their main restaurant, Miel serves delicious breakfasts with excellent service, day or night. We had eggs, pancakes, french toast, fresh veggies and all sorts of morning pastries throughout our stay. All yummy. Great cocktails and wings in the evening, too. Prices are comparable, or even a bit less than usual 4-5star hotels. Bathroom: I usually select hotels by their bathroom photos-tubs say EVERYTHING you need to know about a hotel and theirs did not disappoint, online or in person. The tub was deep, luxurious and sparkling clean. The shower was also sufficiently steamy-they could pay a bit closer attention to the drain covers, they were a bit duller than they should have been! Also, neither bathroom had a fan! Odd! Great towels, shower rug, plush robe and slippers. Good amenities, Verbena scented, very woodsy, great soap. Travel size Scope, too. Double Beds: We were a party of 3 and unfortunately, the double beds were very hard, as other reviewers have mentioned. The staff did their best by adding pillow tops, but we all left sore anyway. Very disappointing and I wish they'd offered more comfortable bed, but I guess you can't have it all! Location: This hotel's location suited and even surpassed my needs -it's within walking distance of Faneuil Hall, Quincy Market, the waterfront, the North End, the Freedom Trail, Duck Tours, and if you're from New York, The Boston Commons and Beacon Hill. Just wear good shoes! There are T stops less than 3 blocks away in either direction, couldn't be more convenient for sightseeing. Staff: The staff here was very warm, knowledgeable and impressive. The team member who checked us in arranged a terrific Birthday surprise for our Mom's birthday-a slice of cake with Happy Birthday spelled out in chocolate along with a delicious fruit plate, delivered on her birthday. The manager had a bottle of champagne on our second day for my mother-an incredibly lovely touch. Valet service was respectful, honest and conscientious-not a ding, scratch or speck of dirt! Overall, our experience was great. The staff went above and beyond to help us celebrate my Mom's birthday and made her feel very special. I can only say I wish a better solution was available for the really non-comfortable double beds, and, that something more had been done or offered since nothing could be done about the rock hard mattresses. I guess it's a good thing we went to Boston to walk and explore, not sleep! 17 September 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Hotel- Convenient Stay We stayed 1 night on the way up to Cape Cod. Hotel is perfect. Room was comfortable and clean. We had Club access and the club attendant on Sunday morning was amazing. A special Thank You to Abby Weiner for her help prior to arrival. Thank you Abby for making us feel welcome before we arrived! 17 September 2014
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Great modern hotel, service seems to have slipped a little. I've stayed here a number of times and love the hotel for it's waterfront location, charming lobby and bar and modern, comfortable rooms. The in-room dining is grossly overpriced though and on my most recent stay i genuinely felt that the service had slipped. The Pool also needs some maintenance as some of the mosaic tiles are loose / missing in the pool. 17 September 2014
