Clinking beer glasses

After defeating the Hungarian revolution in 1849, Austrian generals clinked their beer glasses to celebrate their victory. Hungarians made a pledge not to clink glasses for 150 years when drinking beer. That period is over now, but most of the Hungarians still don’t clink beer glasses.
Spacious, modern suites at this Budapest hotel offer breathtaking views of the River Danube and Chain Bridge. Savour the New World Hungarian menu at Corso Restaurant overlooking the Royal Castle, or indulge at our full-service spa and indoor pool with a counter current system. This Budapest hotel is ideally located just a few minutes from the shopping district of Andrassy Avenue. As the city is best seen by boat, take a trip to Margaret Island and the Szechenyi Thermal Baths.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great location for a Budapest vacation We were two families on our semi annual vacation and budapest was our final stop. We stayed as a family of four with a river view and it was awesome. The hotel is centrally located and has easy access to the main tourist attractions, metro and the tram is on the doorstep. The concierge staff is great and very knowledgeable and eager to help inspite of the huge crowds. The hotel is close to lot of eateries and the restaurant at the hotel is also very good We had a minor incident but the hotel management took care of it promptly I recommend this hotel highly for a stay in budapest 10 July 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Perfect Location, Professional Staff. The location of the Budapest Intercontinental is the best in all of Budapest, directly on the banks of the Danube adjacent to the Chain Bridge. The excellent customer service by all personnel from the reception staff to the room attendants is as expected from this standard of hotel, the dining room staff deserve a special mention for their attention to detail at every level. I have stayed in many high end hotels and have often found some staff members to be ridiculous in their snobbish attitude towards the guests, almost as though they are doing you a favour allowing you to stay in their hotel. This unpleasant and unprofessional attitude cannot be found amongst the excellent, well trained professional staff who work at the Budapest Intercontinental, I cannot praise them enough. They use polite, professional formality at all times. I spent eight nights in this lovely hotel and had many days to observe how well run an establishment this is. It is a very busy hotel but standards never slip. 06 July 2014
