THE PERFECT DAY

MORNING

Start the day with a stroll along the River Nile located adjacently to the Semiramis InterContinental. Make your way towards Midan Tahrir and Talaat Harb Street in downtown Cairo and take your time enjoying the rich architecture from the 18th century. Stop at Felfela restaurant for a typical Egyptian breakfast such as Foul & Taameya.

AFTERNOON

Azhar Park is wonderful for lunch or an afternoon stroll, especially for families. Nearby is the major mosque of the same name; it's known for its landscaping and magnificent views of Cairo.

EVENING

Complete your day with a Nile boat trip. Apart from spectacular views of the city, you can see an authentic bellydancing show and eat a delicious Egyptian dinner.

LOCAL CULTURE

Taxis

It is recommended to use white taxis or yellow cabs. Avoid using the black & white taxis as they do not have taxi meters


Tipping

A 10% tip is customary at restaurants. Tipping is common for rendered services such as taxi drivers, luggage porters, bathroom attendants etc.


Dress

Sensible and conservative dress is recommended while in Egypt.


Diet

It is recommended to try traditional Egyptian food items such as Taameya (Falafel) and Foul (Beans) usually consumed for breakfast or Koshary, a heavy but delicious dish of lentils, rice and pasta served in a spicy tomato sauce


Weather

Days are commonly warm and nights are cool. Remember to bring your sun block & your bathing suit but do not forget a jacket in case of chilly evenings.

In summer time, don't forget to bring along sun block and a bathing suit for you to enjoy our outdoor swimming pool and protect yourself from the sun
