EVERY THING WAS PERFECT, THE PEOPLE, THE FOOFD AND THE HOTEL
I ADORE THE LADY BREAD MAKER, SHE IS WORTH COMING TO THE HOTEL AGAIN
THE RECEPTION DOES NOT HAVE ENOUGH STAFF SO YOU ALWAYS HAVE TO WAIT LONG TIME IN LINE

My partner and I enjoyed our visit to Cairo and stay in the IHG Intercontinental Semiramis.
Hotel met our expectations of a 5* hotel. Location was ideal close to the Egyptian Museum, Tahrir Square and by the Nile.
Room was very comfortable affording a good sleep after visiting the attractions in and around Cairo.
Front desk staff were somewhat slow in taking us through check-in and check out formalities and seemed to few in number. However they were very polite and friendly.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 Poor service at Front Desk and No Follow Through
Hotel is generally dark and uninviting - almost depressing. Front Desk checkin was poor - especially Hissam who was rude and arrogant. It should never take over an hour to check in.
Asking for non-smoking rooms on checkin seemed to be a completely insurmountable problem for you. (Note - you do not prompt people to make that request when they make online bookings. If it is that important in this hotel/location...you should point that out while I am booking). Offer to upgrade room was withdrawn. Then I was told I would have to pay an extra US $800 to get non-smoking rooms. Pathetic.
Laundry service was great...but 'clean laundered clothes' should not come back smelling like cigarettes.
Manager never responded to my concerns despite the fact that were were there for 4 nights. Pitiful.

since many years i stay in semiramiss intercontinental.,
the lobby was renovated about 8 years ago..but really the new decoration of the looby was not good at all..and i know from many people that they dont like the lobby at all.the darkness and ambiance of the lighting is so bad..we expected after the renovation that we will see perfect changes in the lobby...so many people are avoiding the stay in the hotle because they dont feel the happiness and relaxation in the hotle lobby..its too dark

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 Calm and Luxary amongst the bustling Cairo Streets
We decided last minute on a trip to Egypt, specifically Cairo, over the holiday break and quickly booked at Intercontinental Cairo Semiramis based on the excellent reviews. Our stay exceeded our expectations and the people we met and the memories we made due to the helpfulness and efficiency of the staff will stay with us forever. Great coordination for travel nearby and also for day trips outside of Cairo. The best tips on where to eat, where to visit and where to avoid. The breakfast was fresh and wonderfully presented. Each day we looked forward to foul, fresh bread falafel and the fresh brewed coffee as we overlooked the Nile. Egypt may be going through some changes, but the people are strong, beyond welcoming and friendly. I've already recommended staying at Intercontinental Cairo Semiramis to friends and family to guarantee an incredible experience. Thank you to all the staff and all the attention to details was superb.
