i stayed one night on the 25th floor amazing view , beautiful and clean room i took my dinner at the italian restaurant the food was great and tasty and the open buffet breakfast was excellent and has a lot of varieties.
overall it was very nice experience and i will repeat it soon
i would like to thanks all the staff starting from the parking men to the top management i felt that really love the place

The hotel and staff were great as usual. at the first night i was sad that my favourite restaurant "The grill" was closed at that thursday night because not enough reservations, but we had a pleasant dinner at the fully booked "bird cage" Thai restaurant.
Drinking my tea on the nile after the beginning of the curfew was a great calming experience of no noisy traffic in that such never sleeps spot.
The breakfast was great and busy. We had our favourite carrot juice over and over again.
My issues with this stay are:
There was no plain green tea in most of the restaurant and they have to search in other restaurant to find it, and they succeed in the two instances i ordered green tea.
THe duvet cover smells plastic, this irritated me.
At my non smoking floor, smoke fumes fills the corridor.
Other than that, every thing was just great.

Highly impressed with staff in ALL areas of hotel, friendly, helpful, knowledgeable - i was quietly not looking forward to the breakfast buffet but was delighted at the quality and freshness, the variety and the dining comfort - possibly one of the best breakfasts i have experienced in the last 3 years of hotel living - room amenities were also very good and the lemon verbena is wonderful !! Chef Sommai at Birdcage took great care of us and the service and waiting staff were irreproachable - we had a superb dinner and the whole experience was what good memories are made of, we will be returning !! keep up the good work

We had a great stay at the hotel! The room was wonderful, spacious and in great condition. Big plus for the huge balcony and the beds. The staff are friendly and helpful and speak excellent English. View from the hotel room is fantastic. Another good thing about the hotel is the outdoor pool area. It is very comfortable and surprisingly big considering the hotel's location in the middle of the city.
One thing that could be improved would be Wi-Fi in the rooms, as it is now only available in the lobby and restaurants. It is also very hard to get change in Cairo, and you quickly run out of small bills. The concierge didn't always have change which is understandable, but it would be great if the hotel could offer this to visitors.

Although we spent only one night my family and I we enjoyed ourself very much. Staff was outstanding, very friendly and helpful. We had dinner at bird cage restaurant. The waier there called Ayman was very helpful and patient with us in informing us about the different Thai food which we tried for the first time. In addition to the receptionist who was very cheerful and helpful who gave us Avery nice room Nile view and allowed us to see it before making check in. I don't want to forget Ms Heba in Privilage club who made all our reservation. Thank you for every thing and seriously recommend any body visiting Egypt to reserve in Semaramis inter.

We stay 2 nights at this wonderful hotel. Hotel located at the very attraction location at down Town. Hotel has exclusive view of Nile river.
The nearest subway station is ALSADAT at the famous Tahrir Squire. Just 3 minutes walk.
real way station is Misr real way station just 5 minutes by taxi
Cruise: in front of the hotel or 3 minutes walk to public Nile bus.
Tahrir squire one minute walk.
Egyptian musiam just 3 minutes walk
Khan Elkhalily 10 Minutes by taxi
Pyramids 25 minutes by taxi
Cairo Tour 5 minutes by taxi
Ambassador and PCR
the hotel has many kind of restaurants such as Lebanese and Italian restaurants also to whom like fast food KFC, McDonald and Pizza just 3 minutes walk.

my short stay at the Intercontinental was a perfect break from the craziness that is Cairo! from the luxurious room through to the beautiful pool and restaurants and not forgetting the very helpful and welcoming staff - i wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.

My 11-hour international flight arrived early and I request an early check in 09:00 to shower and rest a bit. I also told the attendant that I would be checking out early the next morning to go onto my next leg of the trip. I was told that early check in was not possible. After 10-minutes of begging and bribing with $20 bill, I was told that the earliest I could check in was 10:00. So I went to the concierge to ask for direction to a nearly by coffee shop. I was sent to Tahir Square where no shops were open until later in the day. One would think that this is something the local concierge would have knowledge of. I had to disappointingly walked back to the hotel and wait it out there. Once I was able to get into my room, I noticed that the walls were filthy with stains. The bath tub/shower could use a good scrubbing. It was disgusting. Details matter guys. Then the next morning, I was told that breakfast was not included in my reservations and that it was going to cost $25 USD for each. This was after we had already sat down and started eating. Seriously?? $25 USD for a breakfast in Cairo??? This stay really put a bad impression of the InterContinental chain in my mind. I would seriously consider a competitor on my next stay.

Staff were very knowledgeable and helpful. They were polite and courteous and gave fantastic advice regarding travel to other destinations and attractions. However I was very disappointed to be seated for breakfast and then be told it was not included. I had been informed by the member of staff at check in that breakfast was included. I had booked the room online three days previously and had not been able to print out the confirmation so had no written proof of my booking terms. I was very cross and decided to protest by leaving the restaurant and seeking breakfast elsewhere. I would recommend this hotel, and I would recommend Egypt, I met some of the nicest people I have ever met during my stay. The pool was very pleasant and a welcome relief from the heat, my only advice would be to double check your entitlement before consuming breakfast as it is expensive compared to other establishments in the area if it is not included in the price of the room.

Quick and fast chack in - I was at the first hand charged for breakfast - though my booking clearly stated breakfast included - so quite a disturbing morning and had to run to room and find booking etc. to convince that I was right. Rooms are old, but ok, and location is good. Overall an ok stay

The hotel staff were extraordinarily helpful. We stayed for two nights in Cairo before taking the night train to Luxor. We had a Nile View room on the 24th floor at the Samiramis with a balcony overlooking the breathtaking river and city.
The hotel was quiet, clean, professional and welcoming.
Cairo was safe and friendly, despite the recent troubles. These may have accounted for the relative quite of the archaeological sights. Certainly the Cairo Museum (five minutes walk from the hotel) was empty and tremendous value.
We took the day train back from Luxor: less than £20 for two first class tickets for me and my daughter. A great way to see the Nile valley, but keep out of the WC.
On our return to Cairo we stayed one night before our early morning flight. We were given a room upgrade and access to the executive lounge. Because we left at 05.00 we were also given a breakfast box for the journey.
I would recommend this hotel and its staff unreservedly.

The staff at this hotel is great. The room I stayed in needed some new paint and the bathroom needs to be renovated sometime soon.
The restaurants in the hotel is good. I want wifi in the room!!
The hotel feels safe and I would stay here again.

Ideally located hotel in the heart of downtown Cairo. Picturesque view of the Nile and the bridge.
Walking distance to the Tahrir square, and the Egyptian Museum.
Very well kept hotel. Restuarant quality and food service was excellent.
Staff is cheerful and friendly. Very courteous and personable concierge staff.

we were in cairo for a meeting for one night Unfortunately we chose intercontinental Cairo Semiramis ,
It has happened to me many bad surprises from the first moment at the hotel to the moment that i decide to leave,
The most funniest thing ever when i called the hotel to book no one told me that there is armed gangs surrounded the hotel
The next day i arrived I could not access the hotel because of Bullies and I was frightened, but hotel staff assured that this accidental event and will not be repeated
i trusted them but i was worried , Then I decided to go to the meeting but I was afraid to leave my wife in the the hotel so i decided to take her with me .
When I came back to the hotel I could not access , i called the staff but no one answer and I was just 2 meters from the hotel but i couldn't reach the gate , no words can explan the scene , fire were every where , me and my wife at the car , Bullies were every where they want to break into my car and i don't know what i do so i decided to stay at the car in a safety place , any where away from the hotel but my wife what can i do so i decided to make her travel alone and i stayed all the night at the car till the morning and after every thing calm down i went to the hotel and took my luggage and when i told the staff about the horrible night that i spent at the car Instead of the hotel ,they told me that no thing they can do that is the policy of the hotel the only thing they done that i paid for a single room Instead of Double room

I stayed at this hotel for two days and then moved on to another hotel. The problem was not the hotel or the staff, but because of violent demonstrations in the evenings just in front of the hotel it had not been possible to go out. And staying in the hotel was abit boring because the facilitis (cafe, bar) closed early in the evening. There were only a few guests and therefore the standard was quite low. The staff was still giving his best and I hope that freedom will soon be restored in Cairo.

i travelled a lot all over the world during the year because of business but InterContinental is always my favourite.
Sewmiramis is always my favourite hotel in Egypt, i always stay in it even during some hard time in Tahrir square, even during the revolution celebrations. My family sometimes asks me to stay away from the downtown but i can't, this hotel is always safe and they know what to do in hard time, they have a lot of experience and improving their security precautions like the new electric metal gate outside the hotel. i'm only always complaining from the taxi drivers outside the hotel who are really a disater their attitide way of treating count, they are refelcting on the image and i don't recomment dealing with them, only the hotel limousine company. management and police should do anything to them.
Check in and out are speed and courtesy, concierge and tickets staff are helpful with a great experience, Sabaya restaurant can't be missed. Laundry are so honest staff. lobby staff always ask me for my stay solving any problem smiling. club Longe is improving a lot. Need more caring about ythe cleanliness outside the hotel and the balcony cleanliness. Spa is clean and professional i feel really relaxed when i cought cold no medicine only to go there.
Hotel is very close to all places as loacate in the middle of the city which is graet and helpful in time.

Over 20 days before arrival, I reserved and paid the double room with breakfast at a special rate.
When I arrived, I asked the reception lady to book me for an additional night. I was then told that the rate would not be the same. When I insisted on the same rate and while she was trying to find out if she could do so, this young man (rather heavy) standing behind her, tried to give me a lecture that I should be satisfied with the already given discount as if he was giving me a present! He was very arrogant and I was appalled.
This is not the way to talk to customers, especially during these difficult financial times. This man does not fit in a first class hotel for he has no respect nor appreciation of female customers. I wish I had kept his name but it is easy to spot him for he stands behind the young women's back doing nothing while the women are trying to help the customers.

Cairo is quiet at the moment: political instability, uncertainties surrounding tourist safety, businesses going under. So our stay at the Semiramis was also quiet; facilities almost to ourselves, including the Club Room. (We booked a suite, and with Ambassador status were given access to Club Room.) Some problems (given an already occupied room number at check-in; staff did not bother to collect room service card during the night) but these were expertly resolved by staff who were genuinely keen to remedy matters. Club Room amenities still well-supplied despite the apparent lack of guests on the Club floor. Good food in the Birdcage restaurant. Outstanding speed on dry-cleaning. I had a suit dirty at 5pm; it was returned to me the same evening, and the extra rush-charge was waived. A good stay; pricey; would come again if the rate was right.
