Alexandria
Known as 'The Pearl of the Mediterranean', Alexandria is the second-largest city in Egypt and has an atmosphere that is more Mediterranean than Middle Eastern. Its ambience and cultural heritage distance it from the rest of the country, although it is only 225km from Cairo.
Giza
The word 'Giza' is thought to be of Arabic origin and means 'crossing'. It alludes to where the Nile was crossed at the time of the Arab conquests.
Pyramids of Giza

Sunblock
Bring sunglasses and sunblock. In Egypt the sun shines practically every day of the year. In the Summer it can be particularly fierce.
Water
It is recommended to drink bottled water while you are in Egypt.
