Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Worst Intercontinental I have ever stayed at This was by far the worst Intercontinental I have ever stayed at. The staff is completely incompetent all the way up to the manager. I was suffering from a cold and flu bug and the welcome amenity was something as a platinum member that I could have really used. It was not in the room that I was given (which was not an upgraded room). I called down to the desk and kindly asked for it.....they told me it was on its way. It never showed up that evening. The next morning I called again and asked for it and yet again it never arrived. A couple of hours later the manager called me to apologize and told me it was being sent up. 3 hours later it was still not there. I called down again and asked for it and they finally managed to send it up.....they tried to make up for it by sending me a bottle of wine but I don't drink. I also had to go through a ten minute process just to get a 4pm checkout which is supposed to be part of being a platinum ambassador. Overall it makes me wonder why in the world I spend money on the platinum ambassador membership. I can't really see why I would do this next year. Being platinum as well with another hotel chain I would probably be wiser to put all of my stay with them since they actually make staying at their properties a pleasure. Overall I do not recommend this hotel and quite frankly advise against investing int he ambassador program. May 3, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Comfortable bed and cleanliness I had no problems whatsoever with everything at this hotel. The Staff was very nice and descriptive on checking in and checking out. The process was very smooth. My room had a lot of room and was very clean! My bed was very soft and very nice! May 1, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Room quality Junior suite was spacious. However the heating system was surprisingly noisy during the stay and did disturb my wife at night. Coffee maker did not work but was immediately replaced. Concierge staff very knowledgeable and helpful. May 1, 2015

Its location is excellent, and pretty central to the best sights, sounds and tastes of Chicago. Add the staff, the food and the feel of the hotel, and its a winner. Its an expensive hotel, but you get a lot for the money. Visit. Stay. Enjoy. April 30, 2015
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by ok Nice looking hotel in great location. Elevator did not work so had to take 22 flights of stairs down. Check-in was a bit of a struggle-long wait and we received the option of "high or low." Such a strange way to ask about room preference in a supposed 4 star hotel. Otherwise, good stay.
