RECOMMENDATIONS

THE PERFECT DAY

MORNING

Cleveland is a clean, beautiful city, and a world cultural center. It's the place in America where the East Coast meets the Midwest and nowhere is this clearer than the array of districts that make up its heart. The Little Italy neighborhood of Cleveland is perfect for the morning, where you can catch galleries at their least busy. The aroma from Presti's Bakery and Café will lead you to one of the finest bakeries in town, perfect for a light bite to eat before heading out on an art gallery tour. Little Italy has a rich artistic history: many galleries are located on Mayfield Road and Murray Hill and show work by fine local artists, as well as offering seasonal gallery walks. Afterwards, head to the Cleveland Museum of Art and enjoy the world-class exhibits - and all this just five minutes from the hotel.

AFTERNOON

Get a great lunch at the museum's café and then head to the Eastside suburbs for some serious shopping. Legacy Village and Beachwood Place are premier shopping destinations that include Saks Fifth Avenue, Nordstroms, the Apple Store, and 140 upscale specialty shops. But if shopping isn't your bag, the choice is really endless: you might tour downtown Cleveland on 'Lolly the Trolley', which takes you on a spectacular tour of our city including the Flats, the Warehouse District and Ohio City; or learn about America's banking system and the history of money at the Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland; or discover how astronauts live and work at the NASA Glenn Research Center.

EVENING

To finish your day, experience the Nautica Queen's adventure on the lakefront. This is a lake and river cruise that shows you Cleveland as a place of soft, winking lights, quite beautiful, and perfect for a romantic occasion. Enjoy the lavish buffets on two elegant, heated and air-conditioned decks, with spacious observation decks also open to enjoy either a splash of sun or a romantic evening under the stars. Cruises run from April through New Year's Eve. Please see our concierge for a reservations: we'll be only too happy to organize it for you.

COMFORTABLE SHOES AND CLOTHING

Bring comfortable shoes and casual clothing for walking tours of the city and around University Circle. As much of the city is under construction, please watch for construction detours.

FOUR DISTINCT SEASONS

There are four distinct seasons in Cleveland: Spring is mostly wet and lasts from March to May; Summer can be hot and sunny and lasts from June to August; Fall is mild and lasts from September to November, and Winter is cold and snowy and lasts from December to February. Even with this information, weather conditions can change at a moment's notice.

TAXI CABS

Taxi cabs are more easily available in the downtown area. If you need transportation closer to the hotel, seek the assistance of the bell staff or concierge.
