Welcome To Cleveland

Welcome to the InterContinental Cleveland located in the heart of the Cleveland Clinic campus. The Concierge team and I are committed to meeting all of your requests, and making your stay both enjoyable and memorable.

Our Chef Concierge and his staff would be delighted to assist you in creating various "in the know" experiences to get an authentic flavor for what makes Cleveland great.

Start your day by visiting one of the city’s historic neighborhoods. Little Italy is where you can catch galleries at their least busy. Located in the heart of this historic neighborhood is holy Rosary the historic catholic church. Just outside the church you can experience the aroma of Presti's Bakery and Café; a perfect place to sample some of the finest pastries the city has to offer before you explore the neighborhood. Little Italy has a rich artistic history: with many galleries located on Mayfield Road and Murray Hill that showcase the works of local artists, as well as offering seasonal gallery walks. Afterwards, walk to the Cleveland Museum of Art to enjoy the world-class exhibits - and all this just moments from the little Italy and the hotel.

For lunch experience the new café; provenance located in the newly renovated wing of the Cleveland museum of art. Explore the many world class collections and treasures found here. You may also want to consider making this trip a two day excursion to explore the offer museums in the area just walking distance away. Is shopping on your mind? Let me recommend some upscale shopping options; Legacy Village and Beachwood Place are premier shopping destinations that include Saks Fifth Avenue, Nordstrom’s, Microsoft store and 140 upscale specialty shops. After a long day of shopping head back to the hotel to freshen up for an evening on the town.

To start your evening right, reserve one of our private cars to whisk you off to some of the newest hot spots available in downtown Cleveland. May I suggest East 4th, Warehouse District, Gateway District and the newly renovated Flats east bank. You will find exciting new restaurant options such as Ken Stewarts East Bank, Lago or Willeyville. After dinner and if your in the mood for sports, head out for a great time with the locals at Progressive Field home of the Cleveland Indians. Once the game has finished why not try your luck at Cleveland’s Horseshoe casino located in the historic Higbee’s building. Before retiring consider heading over to explore the East 4th area for hand crafted cocktails located at Society Lounge in a speak easy setting. See our Concierge team for any assistance.

Cleveland’s many attractions and neighborhoods are spread out over a large area including into suburbs and are best visited by car, bus lines, or if you want make sure that everyone has a fun time with out getting lost, we would suggest you leave your car with us and instead take one of our private limousines.

Cleveland's weather can vary greatly from day to day. You can be in your shirt-sleeves one day and need a hat and gloves the next, so pack with this in mind and keep an eye on the weather seasonal forecast.

Taxi Cabs

Taxi cabs are more easily available in the downtown area. If you need transportation closer to the hotel, seek the assistance of the bell staff or concierge.

Cleveland is a tipping city. Gratuities are graciously accepted by all service individuals.

The Cleveland Metroparks

The oldest park district in Ohio, the Cleveland Metropolitan Park District was born in 1917, the initiative of a young, self-taught engineer who had conceived the idea of an outer chain of parks with connecting boulevards some 12 years earlier. From a few scattered donations of land in the Rocky River Valley, the Park District grew to embrace some of the most scenic areas of Greater Cleveland. The Cleveland Metropolitan Park District is now over 20,000+ acres which includes all different sorts of activities like golfing, horseback riding, swimming, hiking, biking, walking trails, skiing, boating and many more.

The Cleveland Museum of Art

The Cleveland Museum of Art was founded in 1913 “for the benefit of all the people forever.” We strive to help the broadest possible audience understand and engage with the world’s great art while honoring the highest aesthetic, intellectual, and professional standards. We are proud to be one of the world’s most distinguished comprehensive art museums and one of northeastern Ohio’s principal civic and cultural institutions and have gone through tremendous expansion over the past few years to truly be a world class treasure.

Lake View Cemetery

Lake View Cemetery, located in the vibrant University Circle area, was organized in 1869. We are considered “Cleveland’s Outdoor Museum and Arboretum.” It’s Cleveland’s historical, horticultural, architectural, sculptural, geological gem and contains the final resting place of some of Cleveland's most illustrious and industrious citizens in a beautiful horticultural park of 285 acres. Our magnificent collection of trees, shrubs and plants make for an exceptional green space in an urban area. This “green space” provides a wonderful refuge for birds and small animals, as well as a showplace of extraordinary architectural and sculptural treasures.

West Side Market

With its origins dating back to 1840 the West Side Market is Cleveland's oldest publicly owned market. Beginning as an open air marketplace on a plot of land donated by two Ohio City landowners located on the corner of West 25th and Lorain; the market is home to over 100 vendors of great ethnic diversity. It has undergone much growth and many improvements to arrive at its current form. The centerpiece of the market, the yellow brick markethouse with an interior concourse, was designed by the architects Benjamin Hubbel and W. Dominick Benes who also designed other famous buildings in Cleveland, such the Cleveland Museum of Art and the Wade Memorial Chapel in Lakeview Cemetery. The markethouse was dedicated in 1912 and with its 137 foot clock tower has stood as a Cleveland landmark for nearly a century. The Travel Channel and Food Network featuring segments on the West Side Market and last year it is estimated that over a million people visited the market. Whether as a day-tour destination or a weekly shopping experience, the West Side Market continues to be an interesting and historical Cleveland tradition.

University Circle

University Circle is home to more than 70 cultural, educational, healthcare, social, religious and other institutions.

With so many historic sights and architectural treasures in Cleveland, don't forget to bring your camera, film or additional memory cards.

Credit cards

Although credit cards are the preferred American way to pay, it's still a good idea to carry some cash.

Comfy Shoes

Cleveland prides them selves on being a green city with multiple metro parks that range from walking trail to biking and even golfing: so if you are feeling adventurous bring a comfortable pair of shoes to explore in.

Dining Attire

Cleveland's dining scene is exciting and casual. Casual-business attire is perfectly acceptable.
