Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Cozy Stay in Cozumel This is a clean, comfortable, wonderful, hideaway in Cozumel. This is the perfect hotel if you want a room steps away from a beautiful white sand beach. What tops off this hotel stay are the incredible staff that work endlessly to insure that you feel special on your vacation. 14 January 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent service but the bed wasn't quite firm enough for my tastes. Otherwise my stay was impeccable and I would not hesitate to return for a visit! The most impressive part of my stay was the friendly and courteous staff, although nobody could tell me where the locally sunken plane was. FYI, it is just off shore of El Cid, where I had stayed twenty years ago or so. Being a sprinkler nerd I guess my other gripe is that the sprinkler heads around the property could probably be set closer to or at grade with a little pick-work to loosen up the subterranean coral beds. This would lessen the exposure of a liability issue and would certainly be more aesthetically pleasing! 13 January 2015

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by dont go unless your going with a group We had visited the property once before and decided to return based on the resort being non all inclusive thus avoiding the throngs of people. HOWEVER, DO NOT BE FOOLED. We paid FULL PRICE for everything but were greeted by a group of sprinkler sales men and their families being treated to an 'all inclusive' style resort. This made for cold food, poor service, and a less than refined event. 09 January 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Surprised 4 out of 5 Stars I answered all the questions honestly and we did have a number of service issues, concierge problems, terrible food at the Napa Restaurant. How the result of this survey could come out 4 star out of 5 makes no sense unless the survey is just a farce. I like the location, the hotel staff tries hard, and most are very helpful. The rooms need sprucing up, loved the outdoor shower in the room, and once the door to the beach was fixed, the direct access to the beach. Water was rough while we where there, but that is not the hotel's fault, think January is a tricky time. 08 January 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Needed a rest on the beach Have been to El Presidente many times. This is the first time back in several trips. Since the last major hurricane, the hotel has been renovated extensively and is much improved, even though it was very nice before. It is clearly my favorite hotel in Cozumel after 32 years of visits. I find everything much more expensive in every way. I joined the Gold Ambassador program, but did not receive an upgrade, nor the gift basket to my room, nor the complementary meal, and was still hounded by telephone in my room to come hear the presentation to sell me the Ambassador membership. Finding a covered chair on the beach was difficult everyday and there were not enough hammocks either. Room cleaning was excellent, but with a very erratic schedule with the service personnel returning several times to complete linen replacements. Food was excellent, but very, very expensive compared to the same meal in town. Drinks were too expensive especially the margaritas. BYOB! Boat traffic is excessive in that area and should be pushed off a couple of hundred yards from the swimming area. 08 January 2015
