Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by likes and needs The staff is very friendly. The shuttle service to local areas of interest such as shopping and restaurants is excellent. The suggestions of restaurants by menu was outstanding. I enjoyed the food in all of them. I have stayed in lesser hotels that had the same amenities, but also had room refrigerators, microwaves, and personal safes. 25 September 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Ridiculous Desk Chairs We had a nice stay at a conference, but only because we were able to swap the terrible chair used at the "desk" in the room for writing or connecting to the internet. (Actually the printed instructions on the desk to make the connection are screwed up. You connect now by free (limited bandwidth wifi), not ethernet. (More bandwidth is extra.) But back to the desk chair. It is a french style (Louis ?) side chair with an oval back. The poor cushioning does not prevent the wood support in the front from painfully digging into the back of your thighs. Obviously the hotel does not know about chairs with a "waterfall" design that prevent this problem. I went down to reception (all very nice people) and asked if something else might be available. I was initially told no. But wait. Another guy had also complained about this problem. So we loaned him a high back swivel office chair infrequently used by one of our staff. I got the same chair. It worked out very well, but only after also putting one of the two "blankets in a bag" (found in the closet) on top of the seat. Other conference attendees also confirmed to me their displeasure with the standard room chair. Intercontinental, buy some decent chairs with a "waterfall" design to sit comfortably at the desk! 25 September 2013

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent Accommodations and Service! We visit Dallas once a month ,and we always stay at the Intercontinental for at least a week. We have been doing this for over a year. The accommodations and service are consistently excellent! The food is among the best in the Addison area. We especially would like to commend Justin, Tom, Goran, and Monzoor for always going the extra mile to make our stay memorable. I loved this hotel and will book here every time I come back to Dallas. The rooms are spacious, very clean and quiet. Great location; close to tons of restaurants, bars, etc. The hotel bar has great food and drinks if you don't feel like getting out. 18 September 2013

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Well under par. Sadly, the hotel was extremely gross during my visit 08/30/2013-09/01/2013. I'd like to think it was due to the busy holiday weekend and my checking in late (flight delays), but I stayed a few weeks prior and it was in similar condition though not quite as bad. Sheets were stained/dirty on both visit requiring housekeeping to change sheets the 1st visit & sheets plus comforter on 2nd visit. While I realize the blood on the comforter was an 'old' stain I still don't want it on the bed I'm sleeping in. On the second visit the bathroom drain ran real slow & the elevators were stinky. The only positives: a friendly, nice & helpful staff & decent location. With this name & at this price I expect a clean room, I'll continue to frequent the brand just not this location. 07 September 2013

Details not attended to in sleeping room i.e. in-room coffee service items not replaced, hand towels and bath mat not replaced even after request to front desk, key to mini-bar not provided at check-in, clock in room not operable, phone on desk had dial tone but buttons would not connect with front desk, valet, room service, etc., tub did not drain properly and emitted sewer gas odor when it finally drained. 06 September 2013

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Absolutely Fabulous We enjoyed three nights and four days at this wonderful hotel for our annual international magician's convention. Our room and bed were so comfortable that we retreated back every chance that we got. We have never done that before anywhere else. The customer service was excellent and the staff was extremely sensitive to our needs. I highly recommend this hotel and would definitely stay again! 05 September 2013

We even needed a late room make-up as my wife was not feeling well and had to stay in late. When I called that afternoon and asked, the person said"Certainly" and when we returned from the evening session, everything was perfect. My highest regards and recommendation for this hotel! However, it was worth waiting for. Very good! Friends had a great time and the lobby was perfect for relaxing with friends. I would stay there again! 03 September 2013

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Buffets - great addition Extremely well-kept hotel. Good meeting rooms and accommodating staff. Just need soda machines on the floors and I'm glad I brought my own hair dyer as there wasn't one furnished. (Maybe they get taken and can't keep replacing them.)??? Buffets for breakfast and dinner were well prepared, tasty and reasonable, saving time and benefited being able to talk with friends and colleagues. On the occasions hotdogs were offered (not part of the buffet), better quality franks would be appreciated and were not close to the value of the buffets. Overall, good experience. 03 September 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by 2 Day Conference The location is nice, the pool is nice, the bed is comfortable. Breakfast pastries taste old, and were dry. The coffee is not luxury hotel quality. Carpets in room need replacing as well as he rusty metal in the closets and light fixtures in the room. The staff is very polite and courteous. 22 August 2013

The meeting exceeded expectation and that is do in part to the location of the meeting and the excellent service we received. I look forward to the next event held there and will be back the next time I am in north Dallas. 21 August 2013

Recognize there was many people in the hotel for the conference we were attending, and that would have had impact. Definitely would recommend the hotel in the future. 16 August 2013
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Disappointed I stayed at this hotel to attend a conference. The entire hotel was very hot. The air conditioner in the room did not cool very well AT ALL. Only one restaurant and food is average and overpriced. Hotel itself was overpriced for what we got. The beds were hard and not comfortable. The towels on the second day appeared to be dirty and were in poor condition with frayed edges. Not the typical hotel that I would recommend for a business traveler. The location is horrible. Very hard to get to and from anywhere. 15 August 2013
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Poor place to have big event We booked 2 rooms for a big state-wide event. The staff could not handle the high volume of turn-over that was known to happen. There was never more than 2 people at the registration counter, no matter how long the line was or how many phones were ringing. The lounge did not care to clean tables to accomodate guests, even when asked 3 times. Our rooms were not ready till 6pm, 3 hours after check-in time (thus our time in the lounge). There were only 4 towels in the room, though we asked for more due to teenagers swimming. We were told no more were available. We asked for only regular (not decaf) coffee in the rooms. First the housekeeping staff acted as if they could only speak Spanish. Then, when we spoke spanish to them, they told us there was no more regular coffee available (for the rest of our stay)! The beds were so old, they shook with even the slightest movement. The air-conditioning is out-dated. We had to call for it to be fixed at 10pm. This was one of only few positives, they arrived in 15 min. Maintenance men stated that is still original units from 40 years ago and had to tell us how to work around it (keep blinds closed that maids always leave open and keep bathroom door closed as that air feeds directly into intake of a/c unit). Nothing in tub to keep customer from slipping-I almost fell several times in the tub. No phone books available to look up lower-cost restaurants-my husband had to go ask the valet (on of the other good things). Valet was fast, courteous, and always a smile. Gentleman at front counter (I deeply regret not getting his name) was always calm and helpful, no matter how many people yelled at him and manager refused to come help. Overall, the facility has the conference space (at least 2 other events were going on while we were there and our event took MANY conference rooms) but other wise does not live up to the status of a 4 or 5 star hotel. 15 August 2013

The one in Dallas wasn't what I was used to having stayed at other Intercontinental hotels. 2 days we didn't have towels. Staff did bring them up when we called. One time I got locked out and they were very quick to come let me in. The hotel was okay but not as outstanding as other ones I've stayed at. 13 August 2013
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Substandard service I was truly disappointed by the poor service at, and quality of, the hotel. It took room service too long to fix up the room each day and there were two lamp lights that were disabled the entire four days of our stay. The alarm clock was difficult to figure out how to work and regularly went off even when I disconnected it; I don't even know how that was possible. Consequently, the alarm clocked repeatedly disrupted my night's sleep. The hotel room only supplied decaffeinated coffee as opposed to regular coffee. To add insult to injury, the cost of the stay was grossly disproportionate to the poor quality of service. The restaurant at the hotel served horrendously bad food that was outrageously over-priced. The bar in the lobby area did not break my $100 bill so I could not get the drink I ordered. The hotel also did not have any vending machines anywhere. If it were possible, I would request my money back. In sum, this was one of the worst hotels I've ever stayed in. I give the hotel a D+. It was a nightmare. 10 August 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Convenient location This hotel is conveniently located amongst so many popular restaurants, from fine dining to fast food and everything in between. Most within walking distance, if it hadn't been 103 degrees. And most importantly, a Wal Mart just 2 blocks over. The numerous banquet rooms and party rooms were most impressive. Elegant and inviting throughout the building. Friendly and helpful staff. This will be my first choice in hotels next trip to Dallas. 09 August 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Comfortable but overpriced I hesitated booking our 3 nights in Dallas at this Hotel due to the reviews about the "AC problems". But in our stay the room stayed "comfortable". Parking was ridiculous! Either pay $18 a night or park for free 100 feet away in a dirt field out back & tote your luggage! CRAZY for such an overpriced Hotel! We had to wait two hours past "check in" time to get our room...they were very busy due to the function going on that weekend and VERY understaffed. The beds & pillows were comfortable. The room was nice BUT if you like to sleep with the curtains closed and the outside lights out of your room....that is too bad because the heavy thick curtains that you can usually draw closed at night do not close...you only have the thin curtains that close! So you get to see all the lights shining in your room as you are trying to sleep :-( . My overall experience was fine. But for the price I think next year we will stay somewhere else! 06 August 2013
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by 1980's Called and they want their hotel back!!! Well, not sure where to start, so I guess I will start at the beginning. I arrived at the hotel around 6pm on my day of arrival and found the outside of the hotel in need of much attention. The building on the outside has obviously been left un-managed, broken wooden fences around pool area, scum build up on outside of windows, stained building, weeds very high around parking lot and deck. Once I found a parking space I made my way into the hotel. I entered though the back end near the ball room entrance and was shocked to find the hotel very old looking inside. Marble all over the place, and the colors that you see in 1980's movies, very dated. Once I made it into the main lobby I was surprised to find this area very modern, it was almost like I was in two hotels. The lobby was very nice, dark wood, nice lighting, modern décor. The front desk staff was very pleasant to deal with, they greeted me and had my package awaiting for me that I had shipped ahead of my arrival. The staff asked where I would like to stay and they were able to accommodate me as I like to stay very high up in hotels. I made my way to the room, on the way there, once I entered the elevator I was very pleased at how nice it was from here on out in terms of décor; again I was very amazed at how much it seemed that I was in two hotels in terms of décor. I made my way to the room and was once again pleased to see how nice the room was. It was furnished with a large king size bed, nice bath, full closet and a mini bar. Inside the room I was very pleased with the décor and look of the room; however there was much negatives hidden. The TV was nice however was only provided with around 20 channels of standard, fuzzy cable. The bedding was nice, however no fitted sheet is on the bed, just two loose sheets and this causes the pillow top to move around during the night, and the sheeting to move a lot as well. That night I went down to the bar and was very pleased at how nice it was. The bar is a recessed area in the lobby, very nicely lit and the wait staff was very nice, the food was amazing as well. At this time I took the time to walk around the hotel and see what else I could see. Like I said before the lobby area was very nice, however the rest of the hotel was aged....every thing was light and bright colored marble which brass coatings, something out of the 1980's. I made it to the pool area and was very pleased with the way it looked. Very nice area, very quaint and very private. The next morning I woke up to take my early morning shower only to find no hot water, after running the water for 20 mins and still getting cold water I gave up. I went down stairs and told the lady at the front desk only to have my intelligence insulted; as she suggested I did not know how to properly work the shower, she went on to explain how it works, and that since I am staying on the 12 floor the old water system in the building sometimes takes a very long time to get up that high....I was shocked. I left and went to my work site and returned later. When I returned to my room I turned the shower on once again, and after the water ran for about another 15 mins I finally got some warm water. I am very shocked about the amount of water that was having to be wasted just to get warm water, not very ecological. All summed up I was disappointed with my experience, not what I would expect from a flagship hotel of the ICH brand of hotels. If you are traveling to the area save your time and money and go one block down to road to the Holiday Inn. 05 August 2013

Even with setting the thermostat low, the room wouldn't get cold. The room wasn't uncomfortable, just not as cool as I would've liked. 04 August 2013
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by NEVER again First of all--had to call three times to get my confirmation by email...we get there (early due to our event schedule) get to our room-- it was clean, but for the price--small, outdated and no fridge (mini bar we emptied and refilled to keep my meds cold--but almost pointless) no microwave(was told the chef didn't want them) TV no real channels--wifi is outrageous--thankfully I had no need for it--didn't use room service, too expensive. Tried to call the desk for info 17 times in two days--went down to the desk three times..concierge never there--finally got info from the lady in the elevator who knew the area better---asked for towels at 11am Sun morn (for the next morn) at midnight when I returned to my room, still no towels--finally got them. There was a rather large event going on that we were a part of, the hotel was not equipped for it. I won't ever go back on my dime. 03 August 2013
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Air conditioning system was awful The air conditioning unit had to be repaired on both days of my stay. My daughtert was in the NAMISS Pageant, and was never allowed to get any rest between events due to the maintenence always being in our room. The front desk was kind and tried to rectify the situation, but my child was very disappointed. Also, when we went to the pool there were no towels. They also ran out of wash cloths for our room. This was not a pleasant stay. 02 August 2013
