LOCAL CULTURE

Hoi An

Hoi An is Vietnam’s most charming and atmospheric town, an old port city that has remained remarkably well preserved for hundreds of years. A stroll through the city’s lantern-lit old town, along winding lanes, temples and Chinese shophouses is a romantic journey to the past. Hoi An (then called Lam Ap Pho) was the main trading port of the Cham Empire from the 2nd to the 14th centuries. The city rose to prominence again in the 16th century under the Nguyen Lords and became a major economic center. Chinese, Japanese and traders from Europe all played a role in the city’s development, giving it a uniquely international flavor. Today, Hoi An’s historic charm coexists with abundant shopping and chic modern restaurants, making it a top tourist destination and a culinary haven.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Staff and beautiful surrounding I am that sort of person who like to experience new things. Therefore I don't really like going back to the same hotel even if I am visiting the same area. But InterCon Danang and changed that. I went to DaNang in the rainy season and yes it rain nonstop for the 5 days I stay there. In this gloomy weather, the true highlight of my stay comes from the staff of the hotel. They are super friendly, everyone greet you when you walk pass them and smile are everywhere. The staff are the highlight of my stay and they are the sunshine in the gloomy weather. 15 December 2014
