hair dryer broken, carpet old and tired, air conditioner and heater old fashioned and very noisy.

Although dining room was under construction they did a great job making it easy to access and didn't feel like make shift set up

Spacious well appointed comfortable rooms. Good internet speed. 24 hrs fitness centre availaibility is a great option.
If you are an IHG member please present it at check in ! I didnt and they didnt offer me the services I was entitled to as a rewards club member, which was a shame as I beleived it was provided when making the booking.

We were very disappointed by the customer service proven by IHG staff during our stay at interCon Doral.
First: when we arrived, it was almost midnight and when approaching the reception the lady behind the counter just left and hide in the office in the right side of reception. We waited for several minutes and finally someone (not sure if the same lady) came to assist us. It's useless to say that we were tired after the trip and we didn't have too much time to lose..
second, we asked for a room if possible in a quiet area, not facing the main road where we saw some construction happening. She told us that there is no problem, cause they are not working during the night. and we said maybe not, but they will probably start in the morning and we are in honeymoon, we don't want to wake up early, disturbed by the noise.. She said she will give us the room in a quiet area.
3. we found out that there is nobody available in the bell desk to help us with the luggage (6 pieces) and we were told to take the bell and just ..you know...handle it somehow. It's strange because in any hotel, being open 24/7, guests are arriving at anytime especially in an airport hotel, and the bell boys should be available at any time.
Anyways. we checked in, we reached the room and surprise: twin room for me and my husband for our honeymoon. We called reception from the room and it took her a while to understand exactly what I want and what's the problem. after putting me on hold for several minutes, she advised that there is no other room available with a king bed, to move us in, but we can try tomorrow. it's useless to say that our room was facing EXACTLY the road with the construction, but we were staying there for 2 nights only and we agreed that there's no point to complaint about this cause it was easy to understand that nobody cares and nobody will try and help us. Another bad experience was in one of the restaurants, the one outside in the garden...the lady was definitely not prepared to do her job. But after the previous experiences, we just found it funny and we couldn't be mad or something..
the reason we chosen InterCon Doral was specifically for the services provided by IHG group, services that we experienced during other stays in different properties. Big disappointment. we wouldn't recommend this hotel.

We occasionally spend earned IHG points on a nice relaxing stay at an upscale property.
This is not the place to do that.
It's a covenient location, and very friendly staff, but the place is due for a serious do-over.
Supposedly we had an "Ambassador upgrade".If that's so, I hate to see what the other rooms look like.
Old furniture, worn and dirty carpet, etc.
