For my 1st visit to Hanoi, the hotel brought me lots of good memories, friendly staffs, lovely environment, late checkout and also Great breakfast! There are different cuisines & spa nearby, i can stay in the hotel whole day for this! 28 February 2014

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great service and helpful staff We enjoyed our stay at this hotel and were happy about the attentiveness of the staff. It would help to have wifi access in the guest rooms instead of having to go to the lobby to obtain it. A comment about our rooms: the first one was fine but the second one we got after the Halong Bay trip with Uniworld had a carpet that needed cleaning, although the room was more spacious and comfortable. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by AJW4217 My wife and I stayed at the Intercontinental Hanoi for 4 nights in February, and unfortunately we had heavy fog for the entire period and really couldn't enjoy the views out over the lake. However, that did not reflect on the hotel itself and we cannot fault the experience... 23 February 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Hotel Great, Horrible Spa The hotel and staff were wonderful. Peaceful, except for the rooster that woke us up every morning. The Spa isn't a spa at all. Shameful to even call it a spa. Treatment room was a curtain pulled across an employee's break room. People coughing and whispering. Awful! One massage therapist was not even trained properly. We were given a complimentary massage to make up for the bad one after my husband complained. It was much better. 19 February 2014

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Not a great experience There were pockets of very good staff friendliness. Particularly in the executive lounge.. All other aspects, this hotel is pretty average. I have stayed here a few times before but this will probably be the last time. There must have been a change in management and you can't help but feel there are dodgy elements when it came to room rates and charges. Of all the Intercontinental hotel experiences I've had over the years ( Royal Ambassador), the Intercontinental Hanoi Westlake experience will be the one that contributed significantly to my joining other hotel loyalty programmes. 12 February 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Towels and Bath towels need renewing! This is the second time we've stayed at your hotel, this time I was bringing my Dad, so asked for an interconnecting room, and booked King size beds. Was asked on confirmation of booking via internet that we could upgrade to the Lakeview rooms, and pay the extra on arrival. I said this would be fine, thinking we could enjoy a G&T on the terraces watching the sun go down. When we arrived we were told we had interconnecting rooms but one room as a King and one with 2 singles. This was not explained to me previously. We said that we would take 2 king rooms, and not have them interconnecting. The room we were given smelt damp and musty, and we did not get a wink of sleep most of the night, as we were on the ground floor corner and all you heard all night was the reverse lights on the buggies, or people pulling their suitcases accros the cobbles! We called to say that we wanted the rooms changed, and to be in the main building. To be fair this was accommodated, and after breakfast we were able to checkin to a new room, where my Dad was also on the same floor and in the room next to us. This room was much better, although my only complaint would be that the towels and bath robes desperately need changing they are stiff, hard and grey!! - Not the standard of a 5 star hotel! 12 February 2014
