This was the second time that I stayed at the Grand Stanford in Hong Kong. The first was returning to Australia via HK and this time travelling back to China via HK. I needed to be spoilt for a change.
After a 3 a.m. start in Australia I arrived in HK at 5.35 p.m. and got to the hotel at around 7. Check-in was efficient although there was a minor problem with my Ambassador membership but this was quickly and efficiently resolved although I had to move rooms within an hour. However, bell services provided good help and I was settled in with minimum of fuss.
The room was spacious with all that one would need for a short-term stay; free internet service, fruit on arrival, a wonderful view of the harbour from the other side – I lived on HK Island in the early 80s and looked out across to Kowloon – a very comfortable bed and a large and spacious bathroom. It was not ostentatious, it was not loud but subtle and comforting.
Breakfast in the Café was busy but it had everything that one would expect from a breakfast buffet that not only catered for busy business people but also the tourist who wanted quality but value for money and there were many having breakfast. The food was well presented, there were significant choices in what you wanted, and there was never a queue for any particular type of dish. One could eat as much or as little as one wanted. Staff were always on hand to help and provide assistance. A physically-disabled young man with his parents were treated in exactly the same way as others, and it was pleasing to see that he was enjoying himself, relaxing in a convivial atmosphere.
Dinner could be taken in the various restaurants and again the choices were large; one could have a buffet-style dinner, a la carte in the café or the Italian or Chinese restaurants. The buffet was scrumptious with just too much and one could really go to town on what was there. The menus for ‘a la carte’ dining were well balanced with many choice dishes worthy of selecting but one would need a month to try them all. The wine lists were significant and one could drink a French red, an Australian white, a delicious port from the Iberian Peninsula or go for a new world choice from North or South America. It was simply up to the diner how they wanted to tempt their palate.
Of course, if one is to eat well, then one feels obliged to try out the fitness club and it was exceptionally clean as were the toilet and shower facilities and I do mean clean. The staff were helpful but not imposing, asking if I wanted to use a particular piece of equipment and did I know how to use it. Towels and headsets were provided and I set to work, using the treadmill and watching the news from the BBC – no CNN for me I might add! The staff kept a friendly eye on me and when I had finished I thanked them and they bid me a good-day without the sickly ‘have a nice-day’ expression that is so meaningless. Didn’t use the pool which is situated on the top floor because it was ‘throwing it’ down but it would have been good just to say ‘I sat in the pool watching the sunset’!
The hotel is situated in a good part of Kowloon and is within easy walk of much of what tourists like to do – shop. It was also close to the Rosary Church where I got married many years ago and I returned there to see a vibrant community at prayer on a Sunday evening.
Sadly it was time to give up the luxury and return to my more austere setting in NW China.
What can I say about the Grand Stanford? It’s a lovely hotel with atmosphere, offering a wonderful service that is not in your face and it really does live up to its name of ‘Grand” without being too ostentatious. I will return!

The staff here are too clever for their own good. They could learn a lot about customer service from their colleagues in Bangkok or Makati.
Also beware shuttle bus from airport takes about 1 hour as it is shared by other hotels and not direct.

I think that this hote is the best in Hong Kong. Breakfast is better than the Penninsula Hotel. Swimming pool is also good. But it is so small and not for children.

Since I come to use this hotel at work, I think that it uses 10 times or more, but this hotel provides always high quality service.
The feeling in bed made in Simmonds with a harder bed provides me with comfortable sleep, and a concierge and room service are the accuracy which it is not ashamed of in 5 stars.
If I ask you for the staff who can speak Japanese, they will think that he feels easy also about the direction in which trip practice is not, and they can enjoy stay since it discovers and corresponds.
Although the KURUKURU drier which my wife uses was requested on the day preceding stay, at the time of check-in, they purchased and were prepared this time.
Although going by work to Hong Kong has been lost, I and my wife are looking forward to staying at this hotel for a private travel every year.

Not sure what is happening with the Intercontinental Hotels in Hong Kong, i stay every time I'm in Hong Kong on Salisbury Road , but the last few stays have been disappointing, so i thought i would try another Intercontinental.( Grand Stanford )
Staff at reception very good and cleaners friendly, but staff at buffet very poor, the food was very cold the staff didn't seem to care much , lost our table because the staff gave it to someone else after we had sat down.
Ordered coffee and Watermelon juice on 3 occasion never arrived, plates where dirty too.
My room had a dirty napkin on the floor behind the chair from previous guest.
On departure its never a good sign when the staff don't ask you how was your stay, as you can not relay your experiences.

I returned to this property after a couple of days.
I was pleasantly surprised by the room upgrade and the recognition of IHG Gold membership this round compared to the last which didn't happened..
Everything still great, but I hope the service consistency can be very much improved.

Not the first time staying in this property. It's always the pleasant experience and and the great comfort of the bed is always welcome.
However, this round there are lacking of a couple of things.
1. There's no recognition of IHG gold member. Usually there's a complimentary drinks, with a complimentary in room fruits plate the moment I enter the room. But it's missing this round. Crown Plaza at Kowloon East did better with a fantastic personalized service, a tea set and macaroons ready in the room.
2. Bad taxi experience, off the meter halfway, and started touting. This is beyond the hotel control, but I have to mention this anyhow and have sent a separate feedback mail with the taxi number.
Nevertheless, I will still come back to this property.

I would just like to thank your staff at the hotel for outstanding service when we celebrated out 32 Wedding Anniversary in Hong Kong.
The surprise cake and chocolates were delicious.
The hotel was in an excellent position to explore the surrounding areas and staff were very helpful when we needed advice.
The room, bed and amenities were superb.
We also made good use of the hotel pool and the iced water was a special touch.

We recently stayed at the Grand Stanford in Hong Kong and I would highly recommend this hotel. The location is a little further from Nathan Road the main shopping strip but still within a 15-20 minute walk. Our Priority Club status was acknowledged and we received exceptional service throughout our stay. Highly recommend !

All travelers get tired, and, at times, that tiredness acts to lower expectations.
When in a rut, every hotel becomes the same, and expectations of something out of the ordinary become mere dreams.
The Grand Stanford Hong Kong blew away the tireness of weeks of travel, exceeded all expectations, and reminded me of the joy to be found in a great hotel.
Every aspect of the hotel was perfect, but the staff were among the best i have ever encountered. They went out of their way to be helpful, attending to every detail. At the end of my stay, this even included noticing that the package i was expecting had not arrived, and kept calling the company, in an attempt to precisely locate the delivery man.
I would stay there again, without hesitation.

My partner and I experienced the Executive floor of the Grand Stanford in Hong Kong for the first time this July. We found the level of service and quality of the room, the food, and the facilities to be fantastic. Breakfast was a particular delight, with a range of food and it's quality making it the best breakfast we have enjoyed on our travels. The room was spacious, comfortable, and well decorated. The large King size bed was amazing. All in all, we could not fault the hotel and it's service at all. Above all, the staff were extremely helpful, attentative, and very polite.

A nice hotel with great location. The harbor view was amazing. I really recommend booking harbor view rooms. They are really worth it. The bed is comfy and the room is clean. However, the rooms are small and crammed. The TV channels are limited in choice.

I had an amazing experience at the Grand Stafford Hotel. They took very good care of me. I was transferring to another hotel at the end of my stay here and they not only held on to my bags for a good part of the day, but they even escorted me all the way to the lobby of the other hotel. We will definitely stay here the whole time next time. Oh and their breakfast buffet is very well stocked and delicious. I am a vegetarian so it is sometimes difficult to find appropriate food, but the breakfast buffet here left me wanting nothing. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Hong Kong.

I was on my first overseas trip for business and stayed at the Grand Stanford in Hong Kong for one night, then prior to returning home, I stayed at the Grand Stanford for another 2 nights. The staff, rooms, food and services were top notch. I was welcomed as a if I were someone who had been there a hundred times and whenever I needed assistance for directions or attractions, the staff did not dismiss me or treat me differently, they continued to help me out to the best of their abilities, which was beyond expected. I am looking forward to the many trips that the company I work for has planned for me in this region. I will stay only at the Grand Stanford and I recommend you do the same.

In the past 3 weeks I have stayed at the Intercontinental Stanford Court Hong Kong twice. I was impressed with the hotel and the warmth and friendliness of the entire staff the first time, and I was pleased to see on my second visit that the staff recognized me and welcomed me back even prior to my check-in. How incredible is that!!
The staff knowledge of the area and willingness to help exceeded many hotels I have stayed with, and I will continue to stay at this hotel as already I am a loyal guest.
Keep up the work!

Hi, This was my 2nd stay & same thing I noticed, while checking in, your front desk staff have a attitude which doesn't make anyone feel welcome. And than we order one paneer tikka and they served us stale food, it was atleast 1 week old & since my son is handicap and cldnt notice, midway I checked it was like rock and blue than I complained and in return in room dining manager or some body came with some curd , bread and juice and chocolate which I said we no need, but he said we cant cancel the bill so plz accept this and said sorry. I was speechless didn't knew what to say, here they are serving stale and bad food which can make anyone sick and can't cancel the bill. And I didn't get any ambassador benefits in the last 2 stays except a room upgrade and wifi. Not even a welcome letter.
Will avoid your hotel for sure.

They go the extra mile to provide their customers with a good service. Our flight from Manila was delayed for 6 hours and I called beforehand to inform them that we will be arriving after 12 pm. As I have a baby we were really very tired when we arrived and they upgraded both of our rooms when we checked in. The food was also very good great selection of breakfast buffet.

The room is big enough in Hong Kong and quite convenient to the shopping mall. Staff are full of passion and behaved professionally. Highly recommend to experience this hotel. By the way, there's a one star Michelin restaurant in this hotel for u to explore.

I stay in hotels +175 nights a year ... and the Grand Stafford is one of the very best ...

I was on the Club floor of this hotel. The staff were very helpful and accommodating. The room was adequate and comfortable. Only thing I would say is that if you were looking for anything in the way of night life the location was not going to get you that.
