Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Again a perfect stay This is my second stay at the Intercontinental Midplaza. Once again a perfect experience. All the staff is very attentive and really walk the extra mile to serve you. Great acknowledgement as a Royal Ambassador. I mentioned a few minor issues and immediately it seemed like the entire hotel was working just to solve this. At some point even to an extend where it was almost too much. A lot of ringing the door bell. :o) Manager on duty made sure that everything was perfect. Also very nice restaurant experiences, esp the Italian restaurant Scusa is recommendable. Tried the Spa this time and also here a great service and they are very skilled. The hotel is getting a bit old and you can feel that in the rooms, but impossible to keep everything new. 18 June 2014

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Consistently keeps the Intercontinental experience This is my third stay in the past 6 years. I have always found the staff to be warm and quick to serve. The resturaunts are full of fresh food, that is prepared well. The pool is quite enjoyable and relaxing. And the rooms are clean, of a good size and well appointed with useful amenities and good equipment. This hotel is a good example of the level of quality one would expect from the Intercontinental brand. 16 June 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Service and friendly of staff during interaction makes me feel very compfortable. I came very late for breakfast and I knew the breakfast will be close at 10.30am but the staff willing to provide me a nice table outside to make sure that I can still enjoy my selection food. They can start to clear up the breakfast and set up for lunch but at the same time I can still enjoy my time/coffee because I was served out side near the pool. Club lounge chef(s) prepared my special request meal happily. Checked with me when they were not clear about the ingredient / quantities requested, and made sure i got what i asked for. I didn't receive the Ambassador welcome letter this time, so obviously there is at least one area of improvement. 14 June 2014

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by An OK stay for an Intercontinental Hotel overall is good esp on reservation staff and check in/check out experience - was excellent, but expecting for higher cleanliness standard esp in bathroon and more food variety in the club lounge. Food quality is OK, but need more variety. If the hotel plan for refurbish, need to review the noise from the corridor. Everything else is OK! 10 June 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Good Hotel with friendly and attentive service The Hotel does not have an attractive exterior but once inside it is bright and nicely appointed. The Lobby is nice and spacious.Check -in was efficient and quick. The Restaurant Staff are friendly and cater to your needs with a smile. Food has a nice mixture of local tastes as well as having other Asian specialities. I am not the type of traveller who is looking for food from my home country but wish to enjoy the tastes of the Orient! The rooms are spacious and in very good condition and working order. All amenities in ample supply. The Lobby lounge is big a bit un-personal but Staff are great. 10 June 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent Service from Rasa Restaurant Sahab from Rasa Restaurant did his extra mile to impress me. I was having my breakfast during my staff. I was at the juice bar and Sahab asked me what would i like. I was looking at celery with watermelon but there is none (i dont expect either). I return to my seat and what happen next surprise me. Sahab actually prepare a Celery with watermelon juice for me and he remembers it next day of my breakfast. Kudos to him! 08 June 2014

Right in the heart of Jakarta (sometimes the traffic can chew your nerves), yet located in an area which away from traffic cacophony. Only problem you may face if your are an Indian Veggie eater, as the restaurant will not do justice to your belly. However there are few indian joints which are short drive away 07 June 2014

Everything went well, staff courtesy and knowledge is beyond compare. Such a hotel will be recommended to be on the list of selected hotels for Prudential. Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Nice Suite, but major flaws I recently stayed and was upgraded to a suite. Upon entering the very spacious room, I decided to grab a piece of fruit from the complimentary fruit tray in the living room and there were ants all over it and the coffee table. After moving the fruit away, I noticed a trail of ants near the doorway going to the kitchen. It seemed that everywhere I looked there were ants! On top of that, I couldn't turn off the entryway light and the light outside the bathroom hallway without turning off the air con in the living room. Jakarta is hot and I really wanted to keep the air con blowing throughout the night. The switch that controlled these three things also kept shorting out and making a buzzing sound every time it was switched. They wanted to send an engineer out to look at it but by 11PM I was ready for sleep and just slept with the lights on. 17 May 2014

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by FIRST STAY WAS BAD AND THE SECOND STAY WAS WORSE I'm planning to visit my parents in Jakarta and since it would be my mother's birthday weekend therefore I was preparing to book IC Jakarta. Before making a reservation, I made a phone call and I was told that if I look for Suite then I have to book one lower category; which is Club floor. Since I'm planning to use my AMB Weekend Night; I was told to book using the link written on the voucher. Therefore I booked the Club room on IC Jakarta for 3 persons using the AMB weekend night site. Couple days after I made booking, the booking was modified and my booking changed to Suite (one level higher) as promised. The check-in was very smooth and staffs are friendly. After that I went out to shopping mall while both my parents were on the hotel. When I return, my parents told me that someone from the lounge called the room asking why there was no one coming to the lounge for afternoon tea so I think it was great service. Since the afternoon tea was over, we went to the lounge during the evening cocktails and I was told that the rate is only for two persons; and not entitled for 3 persons. I was quite surprised then I told to the staff that I've booked for 3 persons and not 2 persons. The hotel said yes, but they insist that the rate is not included for 3 persons. I checked my bookings by myself and found out that the reservation is showing the rate for 3 adults. However, I realized that there is no extra adult charge on the total room cost eventhough it is showing for 3 adults. Therefore, as my goodwill I told to the hotel that I'm ok to be charged since I knew that probably there is an error on the reservation system so they don't charge for the 3rd adult. She asked me whether if I would like to be charged just for per visit/event (40 USD/person) or (55 USD/person) for afternoon tea, evening cocktails and breakfast. Therefore, I choose the 55 USD/person/day. I confirmed to the staff; that I would be charge 55 USD/person/day just for the first day since the 2nd day adult surcharge was waived along with the 2nd day rates since I'm using the AMB Weekend Night Voucher. I knew the rule that every room rate will be deducted half on the entire stay except for mini bars or other extra service charges. However, it turns out to be problematic. The staff asked to the Duty Manager regarding to the issue. I don't know why the issue was getting complicated, I was told later than the AMB Weekend Certificate is not valid for Club room; but only valid for deluxe room (the standard one) therefore, my booking should be upgraded to suite for the 1st night; and deluxe room only for the 2nd night. I asked to the staff where can I find word "2nd night will be in deluxe room" on the AMB Night terms & conditions but we both can't find such words. I was very unhappy after being told like that therefore I made phone to Ambassador service in UK. During my conversation to the AMB service, the hotel staff called the DM. Unlucky for me, my phone batteries went dead after 2 minutes call to the AMB service. The hotel staff told me that the hotel has policy that I was allowed to keep the suite room for the 2nd night; is room only and not include club benefits like the 1st night. Therefore, I went to my room and grab my another cellphone to call AMB service in UK. I was thinking to make a phone call in my own room but finally I went to lounge so the staff could hear my conversation with the AMB service. I got the same person with the previous one (when my phone was dead) so after I explained a bit, he told me to wait. Finally after around 9 minutes, the AMB service explained that he already made a phone call to hotel and told that the hotel won't degrade me but without any club benefits on the 2nd night.. I was trying to explain that all suites in IC Jakarta have club benefits included. Unlucky for me, my skype credits were running out on that time so I got cut again. It seems that the AMB Service didn't know the room categories in IC Jakarta. The AMB Service didn't know that all suite rooms are club benefits included. Therefore, if I booked club then it should be upgraded to Suite with club. I asked to meet the DM and when I met the DM, the DM told me that the my booking for 2nd night is for room and tax only as per the T&C. I went to my room and my parents become curious what has happened and I told them so. My parents are also feel disappointed. I asked if how bout if we check-out since we were not feel very welcomed; and they said yes. I went to the lounge again and inform that I chose to checkout but the DM asked me not to do so and he said that he will waived for the extra charges incurred; I could keep my suite room and also got club benefits for 3. Actually I was already disappointed and didn't feel like to stay in the hotel but I also felt that the DM has already tried his best so I said that I will explain it to my parents. However, when I get back to my room; my parents were ready to checkout and they said that they would prefer staying at home rather than staying in hotel because they have been disappointed. Well, finally I went up to the lounge again and said to the staff that I want to check out and I agreed to be charged for one night since I knew the rule; it has passed the maximum free cancellation policy. The hotel staff was also feel very bad and she said sorry several times during the check-out time. I knew that is not her fault but I've already didn't feel it right to stay in hotel so I still decided to check-out. I was billed on the flexible rate on that time. During my drive to my parent's home, the DM called me and surprised that I left the hotel very early and he would void tmy previous bill and will replace it with what his called as rate of the day. I've raised this issue to Flyertalk Board discussion and other members are agree that I should entitle the same category and benefits for the 2nd night even some members advise me that the hotel doesn't have right to charge another extra adults since the booking confirmation mentioned for 3 adults. To add the pain, my stay in IC Jakarta was posted as non-qualifying stay so I didn't earn points nor night eventhough I paid as what they called as rate of the day. As a Platinum Ambassador, I believe that my recent experience that I had encountered in IC Jakarta is certainly not the usual high standards of other Intercontinental hotels, therefore rest assured that it won't deter me to stay again in other Intercontinental Hotels. 23 April 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Hard not to pledge your loyalty... I stayed for 2 nights last week. I had just come from JW Marriott and found exceptional service at that property. Quite frankly, it was better than what I had found at InterContinental Midplaza over the past 4 years. But something happened this time. I found the same level of attention to service and detail as I found at JWM. But the property is bigger and much more integrated at InterContinental than JWM. It pays to have the Gold Elite card which entitled me to 20% discount off prices at the establishments in the hotel. Very nice. Then the worst thing happened. I checked out and transferred to yet another hotel and left my handphone charger in the room. I called back and was asked if I had left anything else. I said no. The concierge, Henny, asked if he could then keep my camera! And then I recall leaving that behind too! So he arranged for my effects to be transferred to my next hotel by Silver Bird and I got it within the evening! Thanks so much for the assistance! Such great service must be rewarded with greater loyalty! I will certainly stay there again whenever we're around Sudirman! 11 April 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Bad odor in the toilet When i stayed on 408 Intercontinental Jakarta Midplaza, i think the closet in the toilet was not functioning properly. bad odor came out from the closet but not continuously, only in certain time. other that that, the hotel was luxury, convenient, and ya very nice experience. 02 April 2014

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Internet issues consistently Your club membership was not worth it and added little value. Even worse, I spent several days trying to get my internet connection. Ultimately, after going back a second time, I immediately requested an additional router on the 12th floor, but then they were out of the routers for your room. If this is a consistent problem, it should have been addressed before I have to request it. I missed several important emails and didn't get to send out over 50 emails to my work associates for over 12 hours bc of this issue. Truly not acceptable for the price and expectation i have for Intercontinental. I will not be returning. 10 March 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent Hotel in many aspects Due to my "other" hotel in Jakarta showing as full for the dates of my visit I turned to the IHG site for an alternative. Happy to say that many aspects of the stay were excellent. Warm welcome from Check in staff recognising my Ambassador Platinum status, however on a side note I could not see a massive difference in the room I had booked to the one I was upgraded to (unless the Club Access was the upgrade difference). In any case the facilities within the room were above standard and the cleanliness was exceptional and bed and pillows extremely comfortable and along with the windows masking the noises of the city I had an exceptional nights sleep. I noticed that the Hotel also seems to have struck a deal with Silver Bird Taxis - and not Blue Bird - so although the taxis are a lot more comfortable and larger you will pay approx double the price for transportation. eg approx 250k to the airport area instead of 130k Lobby Bar and garden very nice area to relax in and the Club Lounge on the 14th Floor was a comfortable area to relax in after the office for a couple of quiet drinks and a reasonable selection of lite bites to have. I enjoyed the comfort more than my other normal hotel, despite a longer commute in the evening (ahhhh Jakarta traffic....) so much that I stayed here on my subsequent visit just last week. ** Note ** The upgrade last week was considerable in the difference to the previous weeks stay even though the same original room type was booked so I can't quite understand the methodolgy used for upgrading Platinum Ambassador at this property yet. Food ordered from Room service was excellent and delivered hot so another good plus point for this property ! 10 March 2014
