Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Time to step it up! We stay at the IC in Kansas City often. It is a family tradition to go to KC for Royals games, shopping and to see the lights at Christmas. We have been staying at the IC for years and have Ambassador privileges there. With that being said....I am not sure that we will stay again. It is really overpriced for what you get. The hotel has become run down and needs upkeep desparately. The staff was not friendly at all this time. It makes me sad, as this place has become a home away from home for us. We did not receive our Ambassador perks this stay and no apology was ever made. I just feel like KC needs this hotel to be what it used to be. The location is amazing, so for that reason it will always be busy...but the IC corporation needs to take pride in this facility and update it. When there is plaster falling off of the walls in bathrooms and water pressure that is almost non's time for change. In the Club Lounge they put little to no food out and act as if they are on their last leg when you ask if any more will be coming out. Don't have it if you aren't going to do it well. I stay at IC properties all over the US and this one is by far in the worst condition. April 29, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Like a second home, but nicer! I have stayed at the IC at the Plaza a great number of times over the past several years and I can genuinely say I am never disappointed. From the wonderful views of the Plaza (especially at night) to the comfort of the beds (I sleep like a rock) they consistently make business travel pleasurable. I'd like to give an extra shout out to Rob and Mo in the bar/lounge. They make me feel like a member of the family, which always makes me want to stop in for a drink, or three :) April 29, 2015
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Very Disappointed I was not impressed with this hotel and most likely will not ever stay there again. It is overpriced, the remote and phone didn't work, the towels had stains, the bed squeaked and the shower had hair from the prior tenants. I was upset that the front desk did not ask me how my stay was when I checked out, otherwise I would have told him. The location was Great and the Bell Man out front was Wonderful, but I would spend my money elsewhere in Kansas City the next time I am there! April 28, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Good hotel. Good amenities. Everything good but the tvs. Not sure why some hotels can't get decent cable in today's day and age. Otherwise, great stay. April 27, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Clean and quiet I enjoyed my stay. The room is very clean and quiet. It is obvious that care is taken with the materials used to build the room. I enjoyed free internet service as IHG reward member. I also had quality continental breakfast. April 27, 2015
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by wedding weekend The staff was great but we were extremely disappointed that we couldn't watch the royals game anywhere in the hotel. The bartender was extremely embarrassed to inform us that we would have to go somewhere else. The bathroom was also a negative as it took the toilet 5 minutes to refill and the shower was outdated. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Need help in providing room neccesities! Have stayed in various hotels for 30+ years and this was my first experience of not having toilet paper in the bathroom. Additionally, needed to request wash cloth and towels-- seem like rather basic amenities! April 23, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent! The hotel accomedations were superior. I enjoyed my stay and would return again. April 23, 2015
