I stayed in the Intercontinental Samui Baan Taling Ngam Resort first time in Jan 2013 and returned recently in May 2015, and am glad to see the quality is well maintained. The scenery is still breathtaking and staff are as friendly and attentive as they can be. Breakfast is amazingly delicious with a wide variety of dishes, although it was disappointing to find out that young coconuts were no longer provided at breakfast..
Amber is a great restaurant but their Nasi Gorang was just okay. The Thai dishes and western dishes were very good though!
The Ocean View Room is spacious and has an amazing view of the beautiful sunset. We loved it there! Swimming pools are good too except the water was really warm in May given the resort facing West and gets a lot of sun during the day and heat the pools up. You won't have such issue if you go in Dec-Mar.
The hotel also arranged a cocktail evening for its guests on Wednesday night and it was great to get to meet some fellow guests and the executive chef, GM and other key staff of the hotel. Very thoughtful and well organized.
Overall we love this resort and would go back again (avoiding May)!

My Family and I had the pleasure to stay at the Intercontinental Samui Baan Taling Ngam Resort for 5 days closing our Thailand vacation. Excellent service and very friendly staff, very nice room and Villa, amazing view and property.
I would only improve the temperature of the pools (was a little bit to warm) and maybe have a few pools deeper than 1.2 meters.
Overall I was very pleased and will return again next time when I'm in the area.
