Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great 7 nights in KL I stayed 7 nights at the Intercontinental KL in early November. It was my second visit - I was not disappointed. Check in was smooth, despite the long line at 3 pm. The staff is unfailingly polite, at reception and also Cafe Serena, especially at breakfast, when the crew worked very hard. The food at Tatsu Japanese restaurant was fresh & good, if a little pricey. The ambience was great, until a group of women came in to obviously plan for a function, they walked around inspecting the place - would've been more appropriate if this were done when the restaurant was closed in the afternoon. 15 November 2014

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Good Hotel, Bad Staff I found the hotel to be clean, nice big rooms, comfortable beds. The traffic around the hotel, for those who drive, can be pretty bad. The hotel staff I encountered in the 3 days I stayed there were lacking courtesy and the guest experience, at least to me, was dismal. Rarely was I greeted, be it verbally or with a smile. By far the worse guest experience I have encountered thus far in the many hotels I have stayed at globally. 12 November 2014
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by TV in Room 1426 NHK did not showd. Korean programs showd instead. I thought it is unavoidable, but a friend of mine in a different room said he watched NHK in his room. You should check the setting of TV in room 1426. 10 November 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Spacious Comfy Stay Location was near KLCC, 10 mins walk. Room was spacious, but maintenance is required. Wardrobe sliding door was faulty and shower head was leaky. Missing local newspapers as well, suppose to be part of IHG perks. 10 November 2014

They have an excellent knowledge of the local area and are supplied a number of places to visit. A map was supplied without asking and points of interest mapped on it. They all made you feel like you were at home and welcomed you at all times. 10 November 2014
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Comfortable Room But Bar Outlet Staff Provide Bad Service Perfect room - clean, nice and comfortable. Front desk and lobby staffs very professional and good personality show.. 1st floor bar outlet staff - bad service, bad attitude and simply reject guest sign to room bill.. they did not check properly and rejected my wife sign to room bill that actually front desk have my wife name registered. For your information, this is not the first time my wife face this problem. I hope you can seriously look into this matter. to recap all incident, 1st time were rejected when she go to SPA, 2nd time when she have afternoon tea with her friends at lobby lounge and this is the 3rd time. all happened within this year. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by First Timer First time to stay at Intercontinental when in Kuala Lumpur. I always like to stay in the KLCC area because it is convenient to walk to so many places to eat, shop, etc. A colleague had told me about the Intercontinental, so thought I'd give it a try. Location was good...less than 5 minute walk to Ampang Park MRT station. 5-10 minute walk at street level to KLCC. Was upgraded...YEAH! Comfortable, large room. Repeatedly greeted as an IHG member by the staff. Cool! Breakfast buffet was good with plenty of options, though I never found the egg station so you could order an omelet. Parking was easy, so another bonus. 06 November 2014

The Intercon in KL did not disappoint in that respect. The hotel is nice, rooms comfy and location is great. What makes this hotel memorable is the quality of the staff. They were just great, attentive, polite, warm and welcoming. It was a pleasure to stay there. 05 November 2014

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Overall experience Overall my staff at the Intercontinental KL met my expectations with the exception of the construction noise experienced during the night of 27 October. Although I was advise at check-in that some noise would be experiences I was assured that work would not continue during the night. However, work noise was experienced up until 2130, some 3.5 hours after the scheduled finish time and it took several phone conversations with staff before the noise finally ceased. Otherwise my stay was comfortable and this experience would not prevent me from staying there again. 01 November 2014

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Perfect Honeymoon I booked this hotel via an online website just for 1 night for my honeymoon. When I arrived at the hotel, the hotel staff were really friendly & they asked me "just married sir?" as my hands were covered with the malaysian inai for newlyweds. I answered yes, and they promptly gave me the honeymoon suite. It was perfect, with honeymoon cake, chocolate, welcome drinks. One thing I must mention is their hospitality, its absolutely world class. Thanks for the wonderful experience. 30 October 2014

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 IHG Platinum Benefit I am a Platinum Ambassador and I only get a few benefit from this hotel. No access to club lounge no free laundry. Others hotel Platinum guest get all this benefit even tough we don't book the club level room. I have stay a few month and I very pleased with all the facilities in the hotel. Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Service and rooms When we used the complimentary drinks vouchers that were issued upon checking in at the one six five bar we asked the bar tender what drinks they could be used for. He called over the supervisor to confer with her who subsequently spoke to us as if what we were trying to use were welfare coupons. All we asked for was what drinks they could be exchanged for and would have purchased many more during our stay following this but the attitude of a staff member put us off from ever returning to the bar. We would have been quite happy with house wine or standard beer or even adding to the face value of the complimentary drinks vouchers for something more expensive which we did not even ask for. Do not try to use the complimentary drinks vouchers at the one six five bar if you do not want to be made to feel as if you are looking for a handout, we were quite astonished at the attitude of the staff member involved. We have used IHG hotels for years and this matter could be rectified with retraining so if you come across this then immediately complain to management as this is not typical of IHG customer care. Rooms were a bit dull and furnishings had seen better days and beds were hard. The concierge and bellboys were the best bit of our stay - excellent. 25 October 2014
