Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Cold breafast after a long wait. Excellent hotel room shame about long wait for cooked breakfast which then arrived stone cold and had to be sent back. No recompense for this ofered, but staff very apologetic. Not what we expected from a five star hotel. 23 August 2014

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by 1st try, big disappointment. This was my free ihg Priority Club Rewards night for spending well over £10,000 during the year. 1. No Priority Check in. 2. The suitcase took 40 mins to arrive at our room after telephoning the porter. 3. Parts of the bathroom were dirty. 4. No coffee or milk. We had to telephone housekeeping. It arrived after we had left the room after an hours wait. 5. Could not get us a taxi. Advised us to walk with our suitcase to Parliament Square on our departure. 6. Sleep quality was impaired every three mins' by the sound & vibration of the London underground. 7. The view from the room was awful. We faced a wall 20 feet away. 8. I believe we were put in a lesser room because we were using a Rewards Night. 9. Poor value, awful view, bad service, train noise & dirt. 10. I don't believe I received an upgrade even though they said I had on checking in. 11. I should have gone back to the Interconti Park Lane! 21 August 2014

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Great Start with a disappointing finish ! From the warm welcome we received at the start we thought we were going to have a great time. The superior room was pleasant and a reasonable size for London. When my wife went to get a shower the water went all across the bathroom and into the hallway as the shower head and drain in the floor were not working in harmony. There followed a mass mopping up exercise before I could take a careful shower with the damp towels acting as a dam to the water ! This was not a five star experience. Our sleep experience was very good until 7.50 a.am on a Saturday when we were woken by loud banging outside that sounded like either skips emptying or building work and this carried on for at least 45 minutes and totally ruined our Saturday lay-in !! We went down for breakfast and to be fair my wife's omelette was excellent. I ordered the full English which contained raw "fried" potatoes, an totally undercooked sausage which looked like it had spent about 30 seconds in the frying pan, bacon which was so salty I could not eat and congealed Scrambled Egg. The brown toast which accompanied it was bland and tasteless too ! The coffee was good. As this was a special stay for our wedding anniversary we were totally underwhelmed as the staff were smiling and pleasant during our stay. On checking out though I was not even asked if I had a nice stay. Overall very disappointing ! 20 August 2014
