Well placed, in Westminster, minutes walk to main attractions, but in a very quiet road. The hotel is new, with lovely rooms and spectacular bathrooms. The staff are very friendly and attentive, and are proud of there hotel and positions. Probably one of the best coffees served in town, am
Nd excellent efficient room service. The beds are very comfortable, the only downside is the air conditioning is a bit tricky to control. The rooms are very quiet, which is a big bonus for London.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by mo148107 Royal Ambassador treatment.
I am not going to complaint about the luxury,comfort,nice helpful staff,i think this is what i expect when i stay at high end hotels like intercontinentals and most of them delivered and London is full of hotels with these attributes.
If i choose to stay at intercontinental hotels and being loyal year after year its because as a royal ambassador i expect special treatment and benefits.
As i noted on this page the most negative comments regarding IC westminster is from Royal ambassador members and yes this property is being greedy in its upgrade,i ve stayed not once not twice but 3 times and i received the strict mimimum and on 2 occasions i was given 1 category upgrade same as an ambassador member and thats UNFAIR.
I know some hotels will take availability as an excuse but i did verify suites availability on my last stay may 31st and it was quite available,i would like the management to make a clear distinction in their comments between ambassadors and royal ambassadors members and i will ask the ambassador desk to judge how satisfied royal members are satisfied??? And i am not at all and the management shouldnt be surprised some vent their dissatisfaction here and on other forums.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Bamaboy79 Great new addition to London
Beautiful hotel, nicely situated to nearby Parliament Square. Well appointed rooms, club access very nice. Classy. Room service prompt and efficient. Food quality is excellent. Staff is very professional but still needs some improvement in coordination and making Royal Ambassador card holders feel rewarded for their loyalty. All in all, a terrific addition to the hotel scene in London. Would recommend without hesitation. Plan to stay there again..

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, the bed was comfortable, pillows brilliant! (got to have great pillows) The staff were excellent and went way further than the majority of hotels I've stayed in.
The hotel couldn't be in a better location for a visit to London. I will definitely stay there on my next visit.

The staff of the hotel were superb right from the initial check in till the cab picked us up to ride back to the train station. Every single person without exception provided superb, first class service. I travel very frequently and have been in many hotels of all types - the Intercontinental Westminster ranks at the top. We stayed for a week long family vacation - it was first rate.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Bill92040 Nice comfortable room
I normally stay at a IHG Crowne Plaza property located very close to the InterContinental Westminster but decided to try the new IC Westminster to see what it was like.
The bathroom was huge and loved the walk in rain shower. With the bathroom so big, the rest of the room seemed cramped with not much space to relax if not on the bed. Bed was superb in comfort providing several excellent nights sleep.
All my interactions with the Staff were as expected at an IC property. I had some nice conversations with a few of the Bellmen while spending time watching the rain out front. Very nice group of guys.
Transportation links are excellent. St. Jame's Park Underground is directly across the street with Circle and District line trains every couple of minutes
Breakfast was way expensive given there are 5 or 10 places within a 5 minute walk that you can get a full breakfast with coffee for under 5 pounds so I did not try the restaurant at all.

The hotel is in a fantastic location close enough to walk through St James Park to Buckingham Palace, Westminster Abbey, Number 10, Big Ben and Houses of Parliament. Right opposite St James tube station. The hotel is immaculate - rooms very comfy and what you expect from a brand new Intercontinental. Bathrooms in particular very luxurious. I checked in half an hour early and at my request for a quiet room, had a short 20 minute wait whilst my room was made ready. A complimentary drink in the bar was offered whilst I waited, which was a nice touch and made the wait worth it. The staff were very pleasant and professional. For me, if the hotel had a spa - it would be perfect. Overall a lovely stay.

This was my second trip to this Hotel. I booked to stay with my Mum who had an accessible room. The service was absolutely excellent and the quality of furnishings in the room was incredibly high standard.
Staff went out of their way to make our staff comfortable and memorable.
The location is great within easy reach of buses and directly opposite St James tube station.
We ate in the hotel restaurant for breakfast which was pricey but for a special weekend away well worth it.
I can't recommend this Hotel enough I'd definitely stay again

My husband took me here for our first wedding anniversary and we had a lovely time.
We were upgraded to a superior room because it was our first time at the hotel, We was taken to our room and once settled we was given complementary chocolates for our anniversary which were very nice.
The room very spacious and clean, really liked the tv in the mirror was a very nice touch.
We did not eat in restaurant as the menu was very limited.
Overall a very memorable night :-) x

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by dc2997 Rare Service Level, beautiful room/facilities
I don't usually bother writing reviews but I feel bound to do so in this instance. I have not been to London for 10 years but the last time I was there I had a very disappoiting experience (at a different hotel) and expected the same again. To my great pleasure this hotel was faultless. Some examples:
- Unexpected upgrade upon arrival;
- Young man on reception desk was extremely professional/helpful and personally showed me to the room, explained facilities, etc. He did not hang around for a tip and was off before I could organise one. Very refreshing (and actually quite deserving of a tip!);
- Upon arrival mid-morning I sent quite a bit of laundry to be done. It was after the cut-off time for standard same-day service so I requested that one specific shirt be done express same-day service (50% extra charge) and the rest be done standard (next day). When I returned to my room that evening, the whole lot had been done express even though I was only charged extra for the one shirt....amazing;
- Bed turn-down and note from manager nicely done;
- Concierge extremely helpful re taxis, directions, etc, while juggling several guests at the same time (very professionally and diplomatically);
- Room and bathroom facilities new, beautifully clean, every luxury;
- Overall ambience and vibe as simply relaxed, keen to help, genuine sense that the staff wanted you to enjoy your stay.
Overall a rare situation in today's hotel world.

We absolutely loved our time at the Intercontinental Westminster. Not only was the room beautiful and with all the amenities we could have asked for, but the concierge staff was incredibly helpful. They went out of their way to find us a dinner table at the last minute, thereby introducing us to a little bistro we would never have found on our own. We will definitely be back.

I was greeted by name and shown around the hotel facilities on arrival. Room was excellent and food too. My only gripe, which is a very small one, was that I could hear activities in the street pretty much up until the pubs closed (my room was second floor and looked out onto the main street (with a pub next door).

It is my first time staying in Intercontinental Westminster and it was such a great experience. Excellent service the moment I arrived at the hotel, till the point I checked-out. The room was fantastic. However, I feel that the hotel can be kinder in their amenities. Other than that, it's all good.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by karltop very poor...
Booked an Executive room and was upgraded to Club room as RA. (1 level) The rooms are the biggest asset to this hotel, however they are very small.
The TV only worked intermittently, tried watching a film but it was very stuttery, so I gave up. Some films wouldn't work at all.
The mini bar was awful, not even a handful of spirits, 2 beers and lots of water. No wine, champagne, juices etc. Having never been charged for snacks anywhere on a paid stay as RA, I made the assumption that these would be free, but then found them on the bill for £44.
I ordered room service, which never arrived and was charged to the bill (though removed at checkout).
The rooms are very poorly sound-proofed, - with bottle banks being emptied outside at 7.50AM, this is not good.
We went to the lounge the first night, and there were 3 or 4 people in there. Very limited evening drinks selection, (and no champagne, unlike it's sister hotel across the park) Small canapes which ran out. Nice lounge though, and very cosy and intimate.
However, the next day the lounge was closed without notice.
I really expected it to be better. In truth, the place shouldn't be open yet, because there are still a LOT of issues that need to be resolved.
In spite of the enthusiasm of many of the staff, one cannot help but feel that they have simply been left to it by their management, and they seem lost and lacking in leadership and supervision.
I've read about people with no status booking through 3rd party sites getting better treatment than Royal Ambassadors, and that's not right.
Closing the Club without notice/explanation/recompense is unforgivable. I was told to have breakfast in the restaurant instead. (Front desk insisted a message had been sent to my TV to explain, but there wasn't a message there when i went back to the room.) So, beware of booking Club access, as you may not receive it, depending on how the hotel feels)
Overall, It was an opportunity to impress their RA customers in particular, and they failed. Intercontinental Park Lane for me, next time.

It was such a great hotel and we absolutely loved everything. Great welcome and service from the staff. Always a smile on their faces! Wonderful room and nothing was missing. Tried tea and cake the next day in the lounge, wonderful that too.
Perfect location too.

I booked a 2 night stay at the London Westminster - looking for a luxury break for our wedding anniversary......Spending over 100 nights a year in hotels I am a little critical......However I am delighted to say that the Westminster Hotel delivered on every front. All the staff were very welcoming from the start, always wanting to help and ensure our stay was a memorable experience. The rooms are very spacious for London and the Club Lounge is a great place to relax. The location of the hotel is also fantastic for exploring London. With Westminster Abbey, Big Ben, Houses of Parliament, Buckingham Palace, Horse Guard Parade and London eye only a short walk away....and if the is sun is shining you can enjoy St James Park, located just down the street.....with it's lovely flower gardens and lake....When I can I will always stay at the Westminster in the future….As a few other people have said this is one of London’s secret gems. .

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Pippy Great Location,mostly very good service and staff,with only a minor disappointment to overcome........relating to members room upgrades.
One of the newest properties joining Intercontinental Hotels in London with their Park Lane location as well,I do prefer this one for its modern look,nicely appointed rooms and a very enjoyable Club floor lounge with very helpful staff and good atmosphere.All plus marks..................I have already written a favourable review to Trip Advisor and score this hotel highly for new comers to this hotel.The only disappointing aspect is directly related to upgrades to room categories for visiting Ambassador members and particularly Royal Ambassador members,the latter are usually the creme de la creme of their customers and are usually treated as Elite around the world.Not so in London.Neither the Park Lane nor this location show any type of enthusiasm to greet you based on member status and are so tight with upgrades it hurts.I was told higher categories were available but to rhave a Junior suite we needed to pay an additional $650 a night Since my posting two other Royal Ambassadors have been in contact with exact same thoughts.... and same experience here and this is rather sad as it appears it only happens in London,no where else.Pay more money and we will upgrade you was the answer at reception. The best we got was a Studio suite and not the usual Junior or Full Suite which was so plentiful at the sold off Churchill Interconti some years back.Thats a personal disappointment ....for the general guest the hotel is worth visiting,very modern and bright but expensive as is London in general............................My only negative comments relates to a meer personal disappointment relating to Club members and not the hotel,Visitors should expect good service and immaculate rooms and the location is walkable to almost everything London can offer......................

Arrived for our stay on Saturday 27th April with my husband for our wedding anniversary. Had called ahead to let the hotel know we would be arriving around 10am and was grateful they had our room ready. We were upgraded and were not dissapointed.
Our room was lovely though a little on the dark side with no view but in terms of the high standard of the room I was extremely pleased. The bathroom was spacious and the bed,duvet & pillows were very comfty for a perfect night's sleep.
Perfect location and opposite a tube station but only 10mns in a taxi from St Pancras Station.
We ate in the restaurant at night, the food was just ok!

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by teddyboy Expected more
Huge bathroom, tiny bedroom and lots of little issues.
There is nowhere comfortable to sit and watch tv - which is covered in reflective glass so hard to watch with the lights on. The picture and sound had constant interference.
It's hard to find the curtain button - it's not marked in any way. Coffee, milk and water were not replaced after 1st night.
The big problem, for me, was noise. They have sash windows (which you can't open) with a gap, so there is little sound proofing and there were roadworks outside starting early morning.
In the early evening there was a constant banging from the cleaning staff visiting other rooms and letting the doors swing closed.
And the welcome gift for Ambassadors - half a dozen toffees - not exactly trying to impress, are they? Not even any biscuits, and the mini-bar pricelist was littered with spelling mistakes. It doesn't really matter, but it just doesn't look professional for this class of hotel.
The staff seemed attentive enough, but I would rather have some peace and quiet, and enough room to swing a cat.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Clubloungelover At last... a good InterContinental hotel in England!
Brilliant! So much better than Park Lane! I'm so grateful that there is now an IC in London that I actually like! I've stayed at Park Lane several times in the past and never really enjoyed the experience. Westminster, on the other hand, was superb. The 'standard' rooms here are bigger and better with lovely bathrooms. Looking at prices, it seems cheaper too. The location is just as good, but what makes the biggest difference is the staff... every single one of them was friendly, welcoming, knowledgeable and obliging (unlike Park Lane). I can't wait to stay here again.

The concierge staff was second to none and made our travels within London and beyond easy and direct and there food recommendations were also outstanding!
The front desk staff was accommodating and helpful and the service in the Blue Boar was very good only the restaurant staff was a little slow and not always as attentive as they could have been but this property is only several months old and I am sure it will be as good as the rest of the hotel within the next few months. I will defiantly be staying there my next visit to London and so will my work colleagues as they were as impressed as I was with the accommodations and staff.
I will try to stay at IHG properties as much as possible as my recent visits to this InterContinental property and a Crowne Plaza property have been delightful. The IC London-Westminster and the Crowne Plaza Danbury are two great examples of IHG doing it right.
