The Management and Owners of Intercontinental Hotel Group:
It was really a disappointing experience to stay with Intercon Madrid from 3rd to 5th July 2014.
To begin with my status as a VIP as conveyed by my agents to your staff were never adhered to.
We were family of 4 and had placed a request before I travelled to provide an interconnecting room. However, while checking-in we were told that INTERCONNECTING rooms cannot be provided. Instead we were given one room and the other after about 4 hours.
Next day morning we were put into great discomfort due to incessant noise coming from the ongoing refurbishment work area, which were not told at the time of checking-in.
I tried to change the rooms, but in vain.
Secondly, I tried to settle the bill on the previous night of my departure. I was presented with wrong bills with lot of unutilized additions. The next day morning during my departure I was presented with another bill, which in a hurry I cleared the payment to my total dissatisfaction.
I was kept waiting almost for 20 minutes with my family for final clearance and the staff at the counter were not at all courteous.
Over all it was totally an unpleasant stay at the Intercontinental Madrid.
Hope you’ll look into these issues and address the shortcoming of your staff. At least they must learn how to handle their VIP customers.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Madrid. A beautiful city, walked a lot and enjoyed all aspects. The bed was so comfortable with excellent pillows and the breakfast was enjoyable.

InterContinental Madrid is what you expect from a 5 * hotel.
From the moment you arrive you can notice it by how you are received,
Great room and cleanliness in all areas and very nice variety at the Bar and Restaurant.
Certainly that when back to Madrid it will be my choice.

My eleven year old son and I recently stayed at the Madrid Intercontinental hotel whilst attending a 'learn Spanish' programme at a local language school.
The staff were patient and kind as we tried our best every day with simple phrases. The room was good, though a little dark with a small window, which wasn't what I expected from a club room if honest, but we just slept in it so no major issue.
The lounge was great with friendly, kind and attentive staff esp the female breakfast chef and male breakfast waiter. The concierge desk was both informative and efficient.
Finally it was my birthday during the stay and the hotel kindly placed a bottle of Cava in my room as a surprise which was very much appreciated and a nice touch.
Overall a lovely stay and we would return.

We had a party of 5, and stayed in connecting rooms. The hotel is immaculate, and the people where very courteous and playful with the children. They made everyone feel welcome.
We recently visited another chain in Paris, France and the InterContinental in Madrid truly made us feel at home, and welcoming.
Thanks for making our last days on our holiday very memorable!
