Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great service and experience We arrived in Malta with no knowledge of the country and very soon after visiting the Beach cafe (not restaurant) we got into conversation with a lovely waitress and when enquiring about a hotel to stay she recommended we visit the InterContinental Hotel a few minutes walk away. We had a look and spoke to reception staff and instantly decided this was our type of Hotel. Never changed our minds during our excellent and thoroughly enjoyable stay. Would recommend this Hotel to many. We thanked our lovely waitress who was delighted we had enjoyed our stay. She promoted the Country and Hotel brilliantly. Well done to everyone. 07 October 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great srvice,Staff,Food, We stayed for a week in the Hotel and had a faultless stay again, The staff were brilliant, the food perfect and the hotel facilities second to none. We stay in the Hotel every year and it just gets better and better. The rooms are clean and comfortable and well supplies with toiletries. We will be back again soon. Andrea - Reception Manager took great care of me to ensure that my stay was comfortable and pleasant, Josephine and Olivera from Housekeeping are really house proud, my room was spotless. Joseph at Concierge has vast local knowledge which he shared with me and made my visit to Malta ever more enjoyable and exciting. Thank you 30 September 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by It was a pleasure again..... We visited the Interconti for the 14th time, so I think it is not necessary to tell you, that we love this Hotel and the location. What changed ? - Breakfast in the lounge had fresh orange juice - new, better, printer in the lounge - very good german television program What might be changed ? - apple juice in the lounge - rose wine in the lounge - more different cheese + sausages for breakfast in the lounge ! 27 September 2014
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Did not meet my expectations of a 5 star hotel The standard of the first deluxe room was okay however the noise from the building works next door on our first morning resulted in moving to a different room. The second room was a deluxe room but it was noticeably smaller. The lock on the balcony door was broken, there was a musty smell in the room and the seal on the shower door was damaged. As my daughter and I had already repacked our suitcases to move once we decided to stay in this room. On 1 occasion our room was not cleaned until after 17:00 which was very inconvenient as we had been out all day. The staff were very apologetic however it happened again. Although I could not fault the friendliness of the staff or the standard of the buffet breakfast, in my opinion this is on a par with most 4 stayed at around the world. 26 September 2014

Just 2 cons: 1) Many rooms can be much noisy becaus of the look out the swimming pool/restaurant with live music or the fully movida street below. 2) Breakfast: is a little bit repetitive. 1 week and always the same foods and drinks. Never fresh cakes and no very high quality of the food. On the other hand, stay was perfect. No bad words for nothing and no one. Perfect cleaning, perfect welcome, perfect staff, good choice of internal restaurant. Gym is fantastic, Other services very very good Absolutely advised (hoping to get a quiet room....). Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent location for business or pleasure All the facilities you would look for in a business hotel, plus swimming pool and private beach for the accompanying partner. Overall quality is excellent, and comparable to other hotels in this category, but as it is clearly part of a chain, the hotel does not particularly stand out. I've stayed at several other 5 star hotels on the island, but prefer the Intercontinental due to its location, and facilities. I would easily recommend this hotel to anyone travelling to Malta for business (or pleasure). 23 September 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Lovely hotel with great facilities Thoroughly enjoyed our week at this hotel. The staff were friendly and could not do enough for you. We had a deluxe room with two double beds which were very comfortable to sleep in. I didn't use the spa facilities but most days were spent by the lovely roof top pool, the temperature was fine in the pool as the weather was quite hot during our stay. The hotel location is perfect as close to the 'hop on hop off' tourist buses but also lots of bars and restaurants to go to. I would definitely recommend this hotel and would love to go back again. 23 September 2014

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Exterior of Hotel and Checking in The exterior pavement outside the hotel should be pressure cleaned. The footpath from the hotel to the private beach should be repaired and cleaned in conjunction with neighbouring business owners . Many of the bollards are broken and there was a considerable amount of litter along this stretch of footpath. The reflective nature of the building opposite our room no 1421 was unacceptable and during our short stay we saw no guests using the balconies probably because there was a sense of lack of privacy. The Intercontinental Hotel should consult with the property owner and have them install a non reflective membrane on their windows.This is a major priority. My wife and I arrived on an early flight from Sicily and checked in at about 10am, however we were advised that our room would not be ready possibly until 15.00. As we had not been to Malta before we were unsure what to do or where to go in the interim. As a priority the Intercontinental Hotel should have available a one page welcoming brochure for new arrivals to the Hotel and when checked in they should be issued with a card which would confirm them as guests until a room has been allocated.This brochure should show it's location and directions to the private beach and it's restaurant. It should also direct guests to the indoor and outdoor pools and this card card would enable them to obtain towels and charge up bills to their room. To avoid deception a simple name check with reception should suffice. The important thing is to have the guests explore the hotel facilities rather than sit forlornly in the reception area whilst they await their room or wander aimlessly around the resort. For many guests this is of major importance and the Intercontinental Group should seriously consider implementing this procedure as a major selling advantage over the opposition. My wife and I were so impressed by our experience and the courtesy of the staff that we will return for a longer vacation in the future, I do however expect to see the issues that I have raised addressed. 18 September 2014
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Good but not Intercontinental Standard will be brief about this simple Pros and cons Pros: 1- Large rooms with balcony. 2- Handy locations, but not really a family location more of a party vibe. 3- very good part location. 4- good restaurants. 5- Kids club, you can leave your kids in a safe and supervised surroundings. Cons: - Private beach is not attached to the hotel but 5mins walk from the hotel. - Beach is not very clean, but this is an issue with all Malta beaches in general. - Cleanliness of the hotel, in the corridor there are big stains and spills on the carpets.. not what you'll expect from an Intercontinental hotel. - Service, this has been a real mix bag, sometimes you felt staff couldn't wait to help you, but unfortunately on a lot of other occasion service was indifferent to say the least, e.g. I call the concierge to order a taxi for a certain time but when I turn up no taxi to be found, call room service to order some sugar or a piece of cutlery a couple of hours later I had to call again.. so nothing major but not what I expected from an Intercontinental. 18 September 2014

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by staff are friendly. Very disappointing to say the least! Common parts look like a 3 star hotel. The hotel needs a complete overhaul and brought up to the present day. Very tired looking and beach area needs to be addressed too. Location is not ideal as its right next to all the Gentleman's bars and young, unpleasant crowd. 15 September 2014

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great service from all staff My husband and I spend a few days at malta and had one night at the IC. From the moment we stepped into the hotel service was great. Luggage was kept for us because the room wasn't ready yet. We should receive a phone call when the room was ready. We had a very nice drink and swim by the pool with a great view. Before leaving the hotel for diner the concierge assist us with our online check in and boardingpasses for next morning and as well a taxi. We checked out quit early but although we had no breakfast by the reception as the option for a cup of coffee and tee with some fresh fruit and a croissant. Very nice arranged. Although it was a short stay we had a great time. Thank you. 10 September 2014
