Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Don't go on weekends if you want a good experience I went to Managua for a meeting. I reserved an executive level room so I could work and rest. What I found I couldn't believe. The entire floor was like a pre-school for misbehaving children. The lounge and hallways were taken over by at least 8 or 10 screaming children with their parents ignoring the bad behavior as they sat in the lounge or in their rooms. Room next door - had screaming child (not baby) who screamed almost nonstop 2pm to 7pm. I called front desk to complain and said that they need to move me or find a solution. They did not move me. Screaming started again at 3:30am and woke me up. I complained. When I left my room for breakfast at 630am the father of the kid was waiting for me in the hall screaming, cursing and threatening me for complaining about the noise. What kind of "Executive Level" Intercontinental hotel is this? I have kids and understand that things happen. But parents that think because they rent a hotel room they have the right to take over an entire floor and treat it as a play center are mistaken. The lounge was filled with kids fighting, throwing things, crying and yelling. The parents sat drinking free alcohol at the happy hour ignoring them. These were apparently locals that regularly "Get away" for the weekend by checking in at the Inter. It was very difficult to get an work or rest done. After being threatened management sent someone up to the floor but by then the aggressor had gone to the lobby to check out. The manager made the decision to not charge me for the night we spent which I think was fair BUT I would have preferred to pay and get what I expected. Separately the room service was not good at all. I always order a club sandwich whenever I check in to any hotel. This club (and a soup) took almost an hour to arrive and were terrible. The soup was too greasy and looked like they mixed chicken with a package of ramen noodles. The sandwich had stale bread, a few thin slices of something and an old egg. The fries tasted like they had been made the day before. It was just terrible. Front desk had only one person at check out. The line was long and the guy in front of me had a bunch of errors on his bill. After 20 minutes the front desk clerk finally called someone to come and help. Seriously this was the worst Intercontinental experience in over 15 years of business travel. Terrible. 12 November 2014

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Good rest Good hotel to stay. Comfortable beds. Internet access is important and it was good. Answers to questions and staff ready to help is another important aspect. Not may options in Managua, therefore having the Inter is always good. What i did not find was a safe box in the room. this is always something important to have to keep documents safe. 10 November 2014
