Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent facilities and service efficiency I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Intercontinental Hotel Makati. It is centrally located, has welcoming and friendily staff, and facilities and amenities are excellent. The only minor but important draw back is that the ATM in the hotel does not accept major international credit/debit cards such as AMERICAN EXPRESS, VISA and MASTERCARD. I tried to withdraw money from the ATM using my UK Visa card without any success. As a result I had to walk to a nearby shopping mall to withdraw money, which I was initially nervous and uncomfortable to do so given that this was my first trip to the Philippines! 21 October 2013

I found that the in-room coffee,tea service provided in the room inadequate in choice and variety to reflect that of a 5star hotel. Also these items were not replenished daily. I lined the rubbish bin in the bathroom with a used plastic bag but the cleaning crew were careless as they retrieved the rubbish bag from the toilet but left it on the bar counter instead! 20 October 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Best Services Best services from every staffs. Feel comfortable and safe. I asked a security guard at the front of hotel for a taxi from hotel to go to my office. Taxi driver didn't use the meter and claim much money for service. When I got back to the hotel, I reported to a security guard at the front of hotel. They asked me for information and would like to issue the apologize letter for me even though it beyond the hotel responsibility. They reported that taxi to taxi company and avoid to pick the customer at the hotel any more. In the next day when the staff call the taxi, they explain the destination and re-check for ensure the taxi driver uses the meter. :) For room keeper, they know what I like, they clean my room and set my stuff including the water in the position that is convenient for me. I was happy any time when I get back to my room. For pick up service. They provided me the good service and on-time even though I was late in someday. They wait and re-check me for ensure me get their car service. 19 October 2013

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent Stay at an Excellent Location Best staff in Manila! I stay at the Intercon in Makati almost exclusively now. They never seem to disappoint. Service is wonderful. Folks are incredibly friendly and engaging. And questions are answered quickly. The hotel is nicely located across the street from the Glorietta malls, and through them, one can reach the Landmark and Greenbelt. When raining, you can go underground if you are inclined. Only gripe this past stay (and it is my first gripe in quite a few visits): my toilet, about 5 seconds after finished flushing, would make a loud pump sound and rattle the wall. Likely air caught in the trap. An easy fix for maintenance. Otherwise, I'll be back again. 15 October 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Room key not working for 3 times I had problems opening the door with my room key on day 1 and last day of my stay. I went down to the lobby to re-validate my key but it did not work. I need the staff to come up with the master key in order to open the door. This is disappointing. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Club Lounge The overall of the club is okay. I have seen better! The waiters and waitress were really nice even the chefs. The trainees were really nice and well performed. However one staff was arrogant in handing hotel guest's guest whom were local Filipinos at the lounge. This staff named particularly called "ANNE" whom the lounge reception desk. She is kind high nose,arrogant comes with attitude when handling local Filipinos. She also kind of ordering the other staffs around and speaking in the her native dialect which was annoying to some of us there when she walks over to the kitchen area. This is a very competitive Era as we all know. The Philippines is never a easy place to do business,or even living. Every single local being here have excuses at almost at all reasoning. What we need staffs not showing attitude gestures especially at the lounge area where most business guest gatherers and mingle all the time. I have stayed at Jakarta, Singapore in IHG always well handled and the feeling of tranquility. The Makati IHG needs refinement. I hope the hotel management can look into this area and do the improvement immediately to see all guests are well handle and treated. I like to see the improvement in the nearing future when I stay at Makati IHG. Cheers :-)) 07 October 2013

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Service for the satisfactory and memorable stay in this hotel last month, i booked a room for the second time. but it was for my daughter and her friend for their overnight stay after their company sponsored party at the ICON. i was happy that the receptionist recognized me as an IHG member? (with a welcome drink and fruits in the room). i just want to inform the management that every time i received an email notification or an update from IHG, i could not open it because it has a PIN. over all we are happy in this hotel and i highly recommended this to a friend and relative. 02 October 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by extraordinary staff My stay was excellent in all aspects. The staff were so much helpful and smiles wherever you go. The location of the hotel is one of the best locations in Makati. The club lounge is super with good service. The internet was excellent. I know as the admin. leaders that the hotel is somewhat old and i think renovations definitely in their plan may be soon especially with the presence of adjacent new properties. Still i recommend this hotel for those carrying IHG membership at least for their loyalty. The Premiere Suite i think should not be a choice for business travellers but should be reserved for the families because it has the food service table and small kitchen/ bar area. it was wrong to advice it for me!! i changes it with extra money with the executive suite that has separate seating area for the visitors and meetings that was excellent because of complete privacy of the bed room. the lenin bed sheets and towels need to be considered as urgent items for renovation. i would like to thank Ms.Juliana from concierge her polite effective dealing was extraordinary. thanks for all the staff at this hotel i really felt home during my stay. 30 September 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Genuine Pinoy hospitality! It was my first time to have an overnight stay at Intercon Manila, and at a super promo rate at that... It was worth the wait to be in this hotel... Contrary to some reviews I've read before my stay, the room i had was clean, orderly, and comfortable, especially the comfort room and the bed linens (I'm very particular about these things). The staff were very warm and accommodating - from the security personnel to the reception staff to the room boys in the 10th floor, even those at Cafe Jeepney. It was very considerate of the staff to take note of my special request to make the room "asthma-friendly" that they even provided me with memory pillows on top of the pillowssss on the bed... it was like sleeping in the clouds! Breakfast was superb - with so many to choose from. The filling morning food kept me going until late afternoon without craving for another meal. It is a plus factor that several shopping malls are just across the street. It was really a blessing to chance upon the promo rate they offered that I get to enjoy this privilege and to have a truly restful weekend without having to go out of town or out of the country. Indeed, it was unquestionably Pinoy hospitality. Whether on regular or discounted rate, this hotel gives the guest his money's worth. 20 September 2013

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Room 821,, 9/4-9/6, 2013 Hotel is quite old and it shows, specially in the bathrooms. There is no spa and the gym is a Gold's gym, small, old fashioned, obsolete and crowed, because of all that I did not use it. There were very few hangers in the closet, so few that I put some of my clothes that I normally hang in other places. Because of this I forgot a pair of pants I doubt I'll recover. On the bright side, breakfast was good although the staff, at times seem unable to cope. Overall, I doubt I'll stay in this hotel again 11 September 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by comfortable bed, spacious room and great service i booked a standard room for an overnight stay with my family. upon checked-in the receptionist offered us to upgrade our accommodation to a bigger room with a free breakfast, afternoon tea and a dinner in a VIP lounge, and an unlimited wi-fi . at first i hesitated to accept it because we will be having a dinner party outside the hotel for my daughter's 18th birthday celebration. but since the receptionist was so accommodating, soft spoken, sweet, and of course she's pretty, and explained to us in detail about her offer, we availed it. and to our big surprise we had an executive suite? (i think) and exactly fitted to accommodate some of our guest who joined us in the hotel after the dinner. over-all, we are so happy. and it was great to stay here in the hotel intercontinental manila. 04 September 2013

They walked me into Inetrcon Office where they checked me in so I did not have to queye at the Hotel Reception Desk. Also the shuttle was great and the drive has excellent English which is not normal from my experience in other countries/hotels :). These first items are really important and they make an overall picture of the hotel. Also the personnel in the hotel displayed high level of welcome :) I would definitely be happy to stay in Intercontinental Hotel in Makati next time! 04 September 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great Service and very warm and freindly The only issue I had was being there on a holiday. The gym was open but seemed closed. The lights were off and so was the air conditioning. I went out to talk to front desk and told me they were closed as a private gym. BUT this is a high end hotel and should have a gym that never closes for the guest regardless. Three staff members all came in to find out how to open the gym, in which they eventually did. But overall great hotel, I will be back just maybe not during a holiday. 02 September 2013

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Fantastic service I believe the Intercon staff on the club lounge provide exceptional service and support to guests. I would also extend this to the Concierge staff and the staff at the hotel entrance who are exceptionally friendly and helpful. My only criticism of the hotel is the lack of meeting place in the lobby which is small. I am a regular at Gambrinus and believe the staff provide a great service but the decor and layout of the bar lacks atmosphere. In general I believe the hotel is clean and relatively modern in decor but is beginning to look like it needs a freshening up in comparison to other hotels such as the Shangri-La. 25 August 2013

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by My second home I spend a lot of time in Manila throughout the year when I visit my team there. The Intercontinental hotel makes my stay very comfortable and makes me miss being home much less. The staff are great and usually know and recognize me by name when I return. While the hotel here is an older property, I still enjoy staying here. The staff really make up the difference as they are always courteous, helpful, and offer a warm smile consistently! 16 August 2013
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Needs Lots of Work from 30 years of neglect Couldn't decide if the rooms were the worst part or the Fitness center. Hotel overall does not meet Intercontinental standards......really a dump. Breakfast was included in our Rate......at one time and vowed never to go in again!!
