Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great Hotel with brilliant staff This hotel prides itself on its service and its staff. Both were impeccable!! This is very nice hotel for business or pleasure purposes. Just one small note, the rooms need a little updating and the health club is a shared public health club which is small and crowded. 05 July 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by great service food is very good. Staff- very accomodating. Everything about the hotel iis superb 03 July 2014

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Fantastic Service Great service at the hotel with a good location in Makati. The rooms are a little dated and could use some remodeling. But overall, great stay. Would recommend for business or personal stay. 25 June 2014
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Poor hotel in need of renovation! I stayed at the Intercontinental Manila whilst there on a business trip and I was very disappointed. The hotel was grim! It clearly hasn't been upgraded for many years and it looks old and tired. The room was initially clean when I arrived, but apart from a made up bed, it was questionable if it was cleaned each day during my stay. It was also a nightmare to get any taxis and the overall general experience was not good. Everything that myself and my colleagues asked the staff was either not possible or they didn't know ( and they're were very average requests!) Overall I would recommend this hotel to a friend. Other nearby hotels like the Shangri La are miles better! 23 June 2014
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Poor Bathroom Hi there, It was my first time to stay at Makati InterCon, but the bathroom is very poor, especially the lavatory faucet that is too small and too short to have plenty place to use it. The pillow is also horrible. I found 1 phillow has some black color mark in the cover. and also it is not comfortable enough. 23 June 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Superb Thanks IC Manila for another wonderful stay. Special mention to the Club Lounge hosts for their charming service & especially to Myca whom remembered the treat from my previous stay & diligently followed up with such refined service. The large room was enjoyed & combined with the ever present attentive smiling service throughout the hotel made for the repetition of another very pleasant stay. 22 June 2014
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Poor communication/Mishandling of room reservation The hotel has potential to be a great experience with its location and beautiful lobby and entrance area. The staff are courteous enough. The problem I experienced in my two day stay was with first, a botched reservation giving me a smoking room when a non-smoking was requested. Three weeks prior to my stay I called IHG and found that my reservation was for a smoking room. I informed them I am a non-smoker and requested to have this fixed to a non-smoking room. The IHG Agent was helpful and after a few minutes verbally confirmed that the reservation had indeed been changed and that I was confirmed for a non-smoking queen or king bed room. Upon arrival at the hotel, the front desk informed me that I had a smoking room with two twin beds. As I am 6'1" and I had previously changed and confirmed this reservation three weeks ago I told them this was unacceptable. I was informed that there was nothing they could do for that evening. No information even on upgrading to a larger room or non-smoking room, simply that I would HAVE to stay in a smoking room for the night. After a few minutes of calling and checking their computers, they informed me that I would be staying in a 'converted' non-smoking room. Not sure what that means, but when I arrived in the room, it of course smelled like a cigarette and an ash tray. I called the help line in the room and they stated that the only thing they could do was to send up more air freshener and an Ozonizer to help with the smell. Neither arrived and I was forced to sleep in the room that night. The following day I was given the chance to switch rooms. This is when I realized that the different departments or duties of individuals at this hotel do not communicate with each other well. I asked for additional time to get ready to switch rooms when contacted by the front desk at 9:45AM which they said was fine. At 1015AM I attempted to contact the front desk to let them know I was ready. However, no answer was received at the front desk despite trying twice within a 10 minute time frame. I thought this is heavy check out time so I gave it a pass. I called the service help line and they told me they would contact the front desk and get someone to help me change rooms. I waited. This did not happen. 10 minutes later at 10:30AM the front desk called my room and asked me to call them when I was ready to switch. I told them I had been trying to reach them for almost 20 minutes now to do just this. Obviously the help line never got ahold of them either. Later that day I needed assistance from the concierge in regards to location of a restaurant and to make a reservation for a SPA session with an outside provider. Each time I tried to contact the Concierge throughout the day, I was met with an unanswered ring or transferred to the operator after unsuccessful attempts. I finally contacted the in room help line and they also could not contact the concierge for the assitance that I needed. The help line operator finally took the phone number and information that I needed to give to the concierge and made the reservations for me. The other questions earlier in the day remained unanswered and I was left to figure it out on my own. The lack of communication between departments, the hotel not getting the IHG line reservation change, and the inability to get assistance when needed is so uncharacteristic of any InterContinental I have stayed at before. Highly disappointing. 21 June 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 Good hotel A nice property at prime location. Staff is cooperative and behave nicely. Only problem, ONLY IF YOU ARE VEGETARIAN, you may get less items in menu. :) Rest everything is fine. 17 June 2014
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Great service, but dated property Manila hotels are generally overpriced and the Intercon is no exception. The rooms are dated and some smell mouldy Staff service is excellent. Food good Lounge good Location good 17 June 2014

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Just WOW Have just spent a fantastic weekend at the Intercontinental Manila. Staff exemplary, warm, friendly, positive and welcoming. State Suite was out of this world. Club and Jeepney dining delicious with lots of attention to detail. Pool was perfect with lots of shade and sun available depending on your likes. Would highly recommend this hotel to anyone. It was fantastic for my husband, 14 month old son and I. Looking forward to going back soon. 08 June 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Astreines Hotel neben der Glorietta Mein 2. Aufenthalt in Manila. Kostenloses Upgrade des Zimmers. Kostenloses Wifi. Aufgrund dessen Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis top. Freundliches und sehr motiviertes Personal. Hotel ist schon etwas in die Jahre gekommen, hält aber bestimmt ein größeres Erdbeben aus. Bin hinsichtlich Erdbeben Erfahrungen in Philippinen nämlich vorbelastet. Immer wieder gerne zum Schluß eines Trips auf den Philippinen. 07 June 2014
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by swimming pool facilities and quests rooms I talked to the manager in the hotel about the swimming pool changing rooms faculties. I received a quick response to my comments about having the shampoo and shower gel mot available and the response was that they don't usually have it automatically in the shower room area bu needs to be ordered from house keeping, actually this is the first time I experience this type of service from a five star hotel, but I could expect it from one star hotel. also there is no steam room and no jacuzzi . The sauna is only available in the gold's gym which is not nicely located and quite old changing room and too congested. Rooms are quite old in design and I believe it is time for renovation. regards Adel 00971506504050 06 June 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Memories to last a lifetime! My last trip to the Philippines was made tremendously more memorable because I chose to stay at the Intercontinental and avail of their Ambassador Rewards program. Many thanks to all the security, staff, and trainees who made a good experience great! 04 June 2014

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Comfortable bed, clean rooms, friendly staff, and nicely maintained. I enjoyed my stay at the Intercontinental. The room was well-maintained and the bed very comfortable; clean and roomy. The Executive Lounge was excellent, great breakfast buffet; spacious with a friendly helpful staff. The gym was well-maintained with plenty of cardio machines, free weights and benches to conduct most workouts. The pool area was also well-maintained with a friendly tropical atmosphere. 04 June 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Service Client friendly and courteous staff...Staff were great in meeting my needs and requests. 03 June 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent stay in Makati I allways stay at the Intercon Hotel in Makati. Excellent hotel and full value for money. 03 June 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Nice Stopover We stayed for one night between 2 flights at the IC Manila. Everything was ok so far - rooms quite nice, benefits given - but one small thing is worth mentioning : the fruit platter consist of one small banana and one apple ....! Then better nothing.... 02 June 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent service, particularly the Executive Lounge staff My stay at the InterContinental in Manila was a delight. I stayed for about 12 days in total over a period of a month. In particular, I would very highly recommend inquiring about the requirements to access the Executive Lounge on the 14th floor. I have never stayed at a location with such a knowledgeable and accommodating staff as the InterCon, especially the Executive Lounge staff. My favorite part of my stay was that, among many other benefits, the lounge offers a light dinner buffet every evening that is always delicious along with unlimited drinks provided by a very efficient and competent staff. I especially appreciate Ellaine's consistently excellent service. I will, without a doubt, be staying at the InterCon the next time I'm in Manila. On behalf of myself and the many other Balikatan team members who felt the same, thank you for all your hard work. (Mr.) David 31 May 2014
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Terrible overall A very old property going down the drain, ino maintenance, nefficient service and lousy food. Just milking the lack of hotel rooms in Makati. 25 May 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Consistent Superior Customer Service Staying in InterContinental - Manila since 2007 after a long absence from the country is a true representation of the old adage that says " A home away from a very far home". No adjective can describe how excited I get every time I enter the doors of InterContinental Hotel Manila for another vacation. My friends started staying as well in IH every time they come home. The staff of "InterCon" provides the intangible services that no one can measure. They perform their jobs with dignity and integrity. Their performance is a reflection of the true meaning of what customer service is and are walking the talk of the Core Values. Here are some of the heroes of InterCon Hotel and I am very proud to have met them: It all starts with Karen from the moment I decide to book a reservation. The people who make us feel safe day and night: Bernard (the epitome of security), Arvin, Feliciano, Joven and Angelo. The gentlemen and lady who provide help in the front end: Francis, Mark, Pocholo, Van, Manny, Manuel, Nathaniel and Mayumi. To Rein and Rey. My sincere thanks and appreciation to Rey for helping me out. To the people who ensures that we nourish our body: Ritchie, Rodolfo, Jonal, Don, Moxie, George, Rolly , Gloria, Arthur, Atoy and Xenia. As well as all the trainees. To Vanessa, thanks for your leadership and as well as to Arnie. I always feel well fed. The unsung heroes who are making sure our rooms are clean, comfortable and will give us a good sleep: Jason and Jordan from the 12th floor. To Kim who makes sure the hallways and washrooms are clean. Ariel from the gym. To all staff of the InterContinental Hotel Manila and its management, I wish you all well and looking forward to our next visit. If I have missed anyone, please accept my sincere apologies. Sincerely, 21 May 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent attentive staff On entering, I was a well greeted and looked after. The rooms, I felt were dated, lots of marble and old painted wood panelling, but overall comfortable and clean. I can't fault any of the staff, from the front door, to reception to the friendly cleaners. WiFi by the pool is a bit hit and miss, poolside service is poor during the less busy weekdays, but again, staff are available and attentive once you get their attention. Great centrally located and prominent hotel. Breakfast is excellent with lots of choices and Jeepneys is good for a lunch or afternoon snack. I think, on reflection, there are better priced, more modern hotel, BUT I would go back, due to the service received from all the staff in every corner of the hotel. A memorable stay :) 15 May 2014
