Welcome To Marseille
Greetings from the Concierge team. Marseille and Provence are a fascinating destination, whether you are looking for culture and local experiences, there is something here for everyone. Whether your interest is in culture or local experiences, you will find it here.
We look forward to welcoming you. The InterContinental Marseille - Hotel Dieu is known for its exceptional service, comfort, and style. Be assured that this unique Marseilles experience will include your palate: in addition to the 80 seats brasserie (80 seat-brasserie) restaurant that extends onto an outdoor terrace with a superb view, the hotel also boasts a gastronomic restaurant with 40 seats, proposing local fish and seafood specialties. For relaxation, the hotel proposes a Spa by Clarins.
9:00 AM: Start your day with a coffee and oven-fresh croissant on the hotel's panoramic terrace, with its view of the Vieux Port. Follow this with a guided tour of the cultural exhibitions in the "Mucem", the "Regards de Provence' museum or the FRAC (Regional Foundation of Contemporary Art) where you will find unexpected masterpieces and discover some of the wonderful architecture of the city of Marseille. As you make your way back to the hotel, take time to stroll around the Vieux Port and enjoy shopping in the local boutiques. You will find the world-famous "savon de Marseille" in the "Savonnerie de la Licorne". Best quality olive oil, lavendar, local arts and crafts, together with designer and luxury brands can all be found in the rue Sainte or the rue Paradis
Treat yourself to lunch in the animated Cours Estienne d'Orves, which once housed the ancient arsenal for galley slaves. Be sure to order a refreshing Pastis aperitif: the typical and much-consumed beverage in Marseille! After lunch enjoy a boat trip; the best way to visit the Calanques, high, looming white limestone rocks and deep valleys. Don't miss Cassis, amble peacefully around its sunny streets and be tempted by a mouthwatering, homemade ice-cream from Amorino...
Back in the Vieux Port , round off a marvellous day, while admiring one of Marseille's breathtaking sunsets from on board the "Petit Train" that will take you from the Vieux Port, up the hill to the emblematic Basilica of Notre Dame de la Garde, with its remarkable panoramic view of the city below. Then for Dinner, have a real Bouillabaisse or grilled fish in a restaurant facing the sea at Le Vallon des Auffes, a typical small fishing port.
