Excellent service, rooms and hotel. It made my partners birthday weekend a memorable stay!
Great sized rooms, great location, the staff service was impeccable. The beds were super comfortable and we had a great sleep.
I will be booking here again next trip.

Nice hotel and the rooms on the Ambassador Floor were clean modern and nice.
It was an expensive stay, not least because of the exhorbitant costs for wireless internet. I expect to pay more for a premium brand, but I felt the internet costs fell into the 'being fleeced' category - given the pervasive need for almost all travellers (at least those staying at an InterCon) for internet access, I feel this is just unfair and unjust - especially as a Platinum Ambassador member!

Two night stay in ground floor room. Very quiet and comfortable and comparable to other 5 star establishments we frequent. Staff friendly and welcoming. Were given an early check-in which was very welcome.
Location is okay but does not have the same ambience or "buzz" as other five star establishments along the Paris end of the street. However, we knew up front that the hotel was in the business district
We have rated the "staff and service" very good but that relates to the hotel component only. A small deterrent was our dinner at the Alluvial. The tap water delivered to the table was warm; conversely, the butter was too hard to spread on the complimentary bread; the bread itself looked like packet bread; the vegetable side dish was without serving implements; the mains were delivered to the wrong persons; lack of knowledge about one of the mains - we were given the description as a slow cooked beef when in fact it was a grilled eye fillet. However, the fillet was great.
However, the breakfast the next morning was flawless service wise.
Would we stay again - yes!

My stay in Melbourne this time was a very rushed affair. Your staff were very personable and provided the right balance of detail and direction. Check in and out were very smooth, which meant I was free to worry about my work commitments rather than my accomodation.

From the moment we pulled up the car out the front of the hotel until we left again all staff and services were exceptional. The facilities also met all expectations. Most enjoyable stay. We will most definately return and recommend the Rialto to all our families and friends.

My wife and I decided to treat each other to a night away in the CBD including a massage, movie and night in a hotel. We decided on the Rialto as it has a good name and we have stayed there previously. From arrival to departure our experience was fantastic! We were greeted by a very friendly gentleman at check-in who went out of his way top explain our options as well as the facilities, which undoubtedly added to our overall experience. The concierge staff were very helpful and polite and the staff in the club room were extremely helpful. As the hotel was where we would experience the most need for customer service we were heavily reliant on this part of our break being at it's best and we were not let down. I would strongly recommend this hotel to anyone who is unsure where to stay in Melbourne. We were so relaxed and happy at any time we were in the hotel.
Thank you to everyone we came across at the hotel, you are all true professionals in your line of work.

A nice looking hotel, but no outside window. The window faces toward the internal atrium. Also, no free wifi. The cost for 24 hour wifi is more than I pay at home for an entire month! Also, the cost, which was high, did not include breakfast.. Finally, the hotel, at check in, informed me that the rate would be raised by over 40% in the middle of my stay due to the start of the Australian Tennis Open. My travel agent was not informed of this. I was forced to leave in the middle of my stay.

I stayed in 1 KING DELUXE. The room was clean and very fresh, but there was no outside window, so inside was very dark. Beside that, the room was very small, the smalest I've ever seen in any Intercontinental. Internet was paid and much more expensive than in other Melbourne hotels.

We loved the location, trams run along Collins Street outside the front door, valet parking service was excellent.
The breakfast in the main dinning room was exceptional. We especially liked the omellettes and eggs, cooked to any method you liked by the chef, in front of you.
The assortment of food at breakfast really made it a fantastic start to the day.
The InterContinental Club asccess was worth every cent. The service was very good. The lounge area with computer and printer access plus Ipads available, at no charge was very useful.
The Breakfast; Afternoon Tea with assortment of sweets; plus, coffee, tea, soft drinks, water and juices always available; Evening Drinks of wine, bubbly, spirits and delicious Canapes, cheese and antipasti - all made it a 5 star experience.
Conceirge were always happy to help and had a wealth of knowledge to share - just ask. They enjoyed assiting us to navigate our way around Melbourne.

We always stay at the Rialto when visting Melbourne, We have always been looked by the staff at the front counter and find the hotel relaxing.
We spent one night having dinner in the Alluvial restaurant which we always have done over the several years we have been going there. We where very dissapointed in the quality of service on this particular visit. Two waiting staff on the night we dined, we waited over 1 1/2 hours for soup to come out and there where other customers been served before us even though we had been there some time before. I raised this concern with the head waiter of which he offered the soup at no charge due to the time it took to bring a meals out. I doudt we would eat at the restuarnt again as we have seen a drop in the quality of food and service over the passed 18 months. I hope the hotel can bring back the quality to the restaurant again as I was very good.

I will start off by saying I had a shaky start with this Hotel, I often visit Melbourne and stay at the Holiday Inn down the road but they suggested I should try the Intercontinental which I did over the Xmas period with some friends and family, So I booked three rooms. I am a IHG Ambassador which means I am an Ambassador for all IHG hotels in their chain. So also being a realistic hotel guest I know that things can go wrong, and its not so important what went wrong but its whether it is dealt with in an appropriate manner, and that the customer is left feeling satisfied.
I can say without hesitation that I am a happy Ambassador and that this Hotel has satisfied everything it should, Did everything they could to rectify the issues and have gone far above standard to ensure the issue won’t happen again. When you enter the service and attention that you will receive is excellent. If something is not right or you feel that it’s not the way you like, then just talk to the staff and they will make any adjustments they can to make your stay a pleasant one. The staff are very warm and friendly without being too intrusive and seem genuinely interested in whether you are enjoying your stay.
The interior is splendid and the concierges are top notch, Jonathan was great and steered us all in the right direction to see and enjoy Melbourne to the upmost, He also was instrumental in tracking down a particular range of clothing I wanted to buy in Melbourne, a men’s store for taller and broader framed men. The rooms are very nice the beds superb, and our room was quiet and the air-conditioning kept the room at a lovely ambient temperature. The Rooms are very well equipped, modern and clean. Great TV, sound system and excellent shower and bath. All in all, the ambience is one of quality and sophistication. Housekeeping is seamless and the rooms are cleaned without fuss, having 3 rooms we had a room which faced inwards and therefore did not receive much natural light. Another faced outwards, so be sure to make a request if your partial to allot of daylight.
The hotel is in the business district even one might say the CBD, and only five minutes’ walk to the Casino, also you can walk up to the now reinvigorated Myer complex and the World famous David Jones stores for some serious shopping therapy and other shopping centres. There is so much to do your very near Federation Square and a hop skip and jump from the trams one being the circle tram that takes you right around the city circle.
Breakfast was included in our packages and whilst I found the food to be a little on the low temperature side, there was a very good choice of food and very well presented. Cocktail bar has a beautiful ambience, and was a lovely place for us all to catch up and have a drink and chat.
I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone wanting 5 star Melbourne accommodation.

A great stay in a perfect room - spacious, comfortable, with all appropriate and gracious amenities - including adapters, slippers, and separate shower and bathtub. Thanks for the special consideration accorded to Ambassador members - check in and check out were efficient and effectively handled. The concierge services were particularly outstanding.

We found all of the staff were excellent, the best we have encounted of all the hotels we have visited here and overseas.
However we were a bit disappointed with the breakfast, variety was O.K but found the hot food, apart from eggs was only just warm.
Room service leftover food outside our room when we checked in still there when we checked out the following day.

We stayed at your hotel on New Years Eve to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Could not fault the room layout, cleanliness and comfort of the room.
Most comfortable bed we have ever slept in while away from home, and the room was so comforting and homely that we wouldn't hesitate to stay again, and recommend the stay to our family and friends.
Well worth the upper market price, for special occasions.

This hotel is awesome .. The rooms were great and the staff terrific, with special mention to Sebastion the room manager and the concieirge James between them they can do anything.
We stayed for a New Year and had a fantastic time, as the hotel is close to everything you need to get to in Melbourne. Well done!

Had an excellent experience at Rialto. The rooms were clean and tidy, Housekeeping did an excellent job .
The concierge was very informative and willing to assist, the location was close to shops , overall memorable experience , will definitely come back to Rialto in the future.

We started planning a bucks day for a really good friend and wanted to end the night in a memorable fashion. Intercontinental Sydney had been our home for a year when we were travelling up for work. Intercontinental always stood out, weather it was the room, the service and even the location thus selecting Intercontinental Rialto in Melbourne made perfect sense to end our night in style. We decided on the Turret Suite but thanks to my Royal Amasador status I got upgraded to the Iconic Suite. We were really excited to witness this room, as even the base level suites in Sydney were mind blowing.
When we checked in there was a moment of silence as the three of us took in what was the most amazing room, perfect for this occasion or any other! Other than the fact that it was special occasion, the room contributed to this positive buzz and class to our day and night. And no surprise here but the staff were friendly as ever, the service was remarkable and the location was just perfect.
For anyone looking to make Intercontinental Rialto their destination, I would say do not think twice, invest in the amasador program and be prepared to be pampered and amazed.

Had a rude receptionist interrogate me as to whether the lady accompanying me was my wife and then demand her details. The porters dont seem to understand their job and never offer to help with bags or to order a taxi etc.
Rialto is nowhere near the standard of the Sydney Intercontinental where I stay regularly. I will give it a miss in the future. There are plenty of better choices in Melbourne such as the Lyall.

Having stayed at a number of Intercontinental properties in various countries in the past few months it is nice to return to where our Intercontinental experience first began. This was only a single night visit on this occasion, but as usual the attention to detail and the provision of "breakthrough" service (a hallmark of this particular property) was evident yet again. From the moment we arrived we were attended to by a number of staff who recognised us from previous visits and greeted us by name. The room upgrade as Ambassador members is always appreciated and as usual the faclities in the room were first class. From the attentiveness of the staff in the Club lounge, to the waiters in the restaurant and bar, to the staff on the reception desk, the experience is seamless, attentive, professional and friendly.
On this particular visit, We would specifcally like to mention the service we received from Kishor, the Customer Service Manager. He made provision for some personal needs that we had and it was very much appreciated. He also arranged our booking, and was there to greet us when we arrived. You can't ask for more than that! In our experience this is the best Intercontinental hotel we have stayed at. It is now our Melbourne "home away from home". Congratulations to the management team also as professional seamless service and leadership starts at the top. we would highly recommend this hotel. You will not be disappointed.

It was a late Spring weekend, and Melbourne was the chosen destination to celebrate my loved ones birthday. Where to stay?
The Rialto Intercontinental of course! Great location and wonderful service.
Once the staff heard the whisper in their ear that my wife was celebrating her birthday suddenly magic moments started to happen. A chilled bottle of bubbly delivered to the room ... mmmm that was thoughtful. Then a "Happy Birthday" cake following lunch was such a wonderful surprise. The freshly cooked eggs for breakfast in the Club Lounge is a well recieved innovation too.
Thank you so much to all who made it happen with a minimum of fuss. We will definately be returning once again to be spoilt by your wonderful staff.

You'll hear the least noise possible in this Hotel specially at nights, it is very calm and beds and pillows are very comfortable! It was my third stay in IC Rialto and quality has not changed. Location is great. Concierge is knowledgable and helpful and for me the afternoon Green Tea "Flower of India" in the Bar on the ground floor is something I miss....

Spending a lot of time in Melbourne I always appreciate the friendly staff at The Rialto who are always efficient and welcoming.
Rooms are very comfortable and the hotel is quiet and dark with great amenities.

I do love IC Rialto in Melbourne but because it is so good, my expectations are always higher than they would be anywhere else. - beautiful rooms, amazing pool and one of the best Club Lounges. Alas, this wasn't the best stay and it was only the little things that made me feel less than special. Firstly, room not ready when I got there...hmmm, so I went to the Club Lounge which was fine. Room had to get changed to Rialto building,even though I had requested it because I hate being over the Atrium due to potential noise issues...but the room I got over on the Rialto building was facing the office block next door and was far enough in for the noise from people (and those blowing out the leaves at 5am in the morning) in the walkway between the Rialto and next door to be overtly noisy. Then there was the issue with late check out and the room keys not working when I came back from the pool the last afternoon. Being RA, I can stay till 4pm (and made sure I requested this with Front Desk staff twice) but...yep you guessed it..back from the pool all nice and wet and not dressed in much more than a towel and cant' get into my room. Husband had to go down and reactivate the room card but 15 minutes later standing wet and cold in the room hallway with and 8 yr old is not fun. Look I will be back cause I love Melbourne but really hope I don't have to do any more embarrassing moments in the hotel hallways.

The beds are always very comfortable.
One thing - there is no decaf tea in the rooms. You have a mint tea, but it has green tea in it, so it's not caffeine free. Please could you get some proper caffeine free tea?
