Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Luxury Again the Intercontinental delivers on service and class. As a Gold Ambassador it was nice to have the extra special treatment. . . room upgrade, breakfast, entry to the lounge with afternoon tea and evening drinks. Stayed two nights. Wish it was more. The cost might be a bit steep but we had the two nights for the price of one deal so it was well worth it. Recommended for that special occasion. 09 April 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Service Greeting staff, desk staff, and bar staff were all professional, kind and friendly. Staff really went out of their way to make us feel welcomed. This level of service is uncommon at any other hotel chain we have stayed at. Due to an issue with our booking, the manager compensated us with a deal we found to be very fair. Our room was lovely and we thoroughly enjoyed the stay. We did find glass water ring marks on the bathroom benchtop and felt full attention to wiping the bench was not given. However, we did find the general cleanliness to be fine. We had an excellent time and will definitely stay again. We will recommend this hotel to others. 09 April 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by overall perfect This is a great place to stay the package we had was we had access to the club lounge, the service was fantastic and the food and beverages were as well, I would recommend this as breakfast and afternoon Drinks all free with the package we had we just loved it. 09 April 2014

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great service and good location I was lucky enough to get an upgrage to club level and i have to say i was very impressed. The staff in the Club Lounge were fantastic as were the staff/concierge at reception. Unfortunately I was looking forward to having a bath and they weren't able to accomodate me there, but everything else about the stay was very good. Will definately recommend Intercontinnental Rialto to my friends. 09 April 2014

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Exquisite property I stayed here for the first time on a business trip. The staff was extremely friendly and prepared about my arrival. They were extremely helpful with all my questions. The manager was very active and was seen constantly interacting with the guests at the lobby and the lounge. The ambience of the hotel was great, room was fantastic. Lounge staff were polite ad courteous. I really enjoyed my stay here and the staff made me feel special. The only caveat I would say is the hotel policy that charges for lounge access for platinum members. Otherwise, this was excellent. 05 April 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Warm, friendly and a memorable stay My recent stay was wonderful, I felt that both myself and friend were "special". We were treated so well that our stay was and is memorable. Everyone smiling and most welcoming. Genuine and caring. Beds were comfortable with an added choice of pillows. Room service was prompt and delightful. Breakfast, plenty to choose from an array of fruits, yoghurts, omelette etc. I have travelled a fair bit and stayed at numerous hotels, this is far the best I have ever stayed at. 04 April 2014

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Extra service My husband and I enjoyed our stay at the Intercontinental Rialto, although it was a very short time we were there. On arrival I realised that I had forgotten to give my key back to the B&B we stayed in the night before at Beechworth, so the Concierge kindly wrapped it and promised to post it back to that property on my behalf - it was much appreciated. Sadly though I often feel that tipping should be for services above and beyond the job description, and when we retrieved our car from the overnight parking at the hotel, it was blatantly obvious that the person who opened the car door for us was waiting for cash - I don't like feeling that I am compelled to give money to someone who is only doing his job. Call me old fashioned, but this is Australia, not the USA. Good service = earning your salary. Fantastic service = tip. 02 April 2014
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Same standard as previously stayed When I checked in, I asked if they could give me upgrade and front desk told me giving me a better room than previously stayed, but upon getting into the room, i dis not see any different! When I called for late check out at 2pm, the operator insisted no way, but when I went to front desk, they say OK, no consistency! Other than that, everything else is the same. Check out billing was not correct, first they charge me for 2 breakfast when I had only 1, and they charge me double the merchant fees when I paid half by cash. So need to check bill very thoroughly. Location is still great! Italian restaurant beside it is fantastic! 31 March 2014

We would definitely use the hotel for a stopover in Melbourne again.It was refreshing to see some colourful decor in the rooms and interesting sculptures all around. 31 March 2014

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Perfect Weekend Escape Staff are the biggest asset to your melbourne property. I can not believe the level of customer service offered - all staff were friendly, polite and helpful at all times. We had a tremendous weekend surprise for my partner and brothers birthdays. Cliff the doorman offered many great eateries, and was a smiling face as we approached the hotel. Other staff members provided us with umbrellas and printing facilities for football and event ticket. On the boys birthdays they were made to feel like royalty with every staff member wishing them a happy birthday, and complimentary champagne. I apologise profusely but I have forgotten the name of the gorgeous lady who checked us in, she was nothing but helpful! Thanks for a great weekend. 29 March 2014

It is architecturally beautiful, stylishly and sympathetically renovated and perfectly located to enjoy all that Melbourne has to offer. The intimate Club lounge has attentive staff and a great range of food and drink - it is well worth getting a Club room. The rooms themselves are plush and relaxing, with the softness of the beds an especial treat. Perfect for a romantic getaway. 29 March 2014

We received our stay as a Christmas gift and we stayed in a Club Room giving us access to the Intercontinental Club. We were made to feel like VIP's from the moment we walked in. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by excellent oasis in a crazy weekend i was booked at another hotel which was not acceptable when i arrived. it was formula one weekend in melbourne; the busiest weekend of the year. there were no hotel rooms in sight but i was lucky and found a cancellation at the intercontinental and rushed over to secure the booking. andrew at the front desk was a pleasure, making me feel i had come home to the right place and did everything possible to make sure my stay was excellent. thanks for saving what could have been a disaster! 27 March 2014

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Above and beyond From the moment I walked in, to the time I hoped in a taxi the day after leaving the Intercontinental the service was nothing short of sensational, let me explain. I joined you Friday and left Saturday, after checking out I was standing outside waiting to be picked up by friends, the doorman walked over and gave a bottle of water, I'm unsure if it was the forethought or I really need some water, by I appreciated it. Then on the Sunday when leaving for the airport, after lunch in the city I said to my sister who lives south to just drop me out front of the Intercontinental and I'd get a taxi to the airport, when arriving I informed the doorman who was straight to open the door to the taxi expecting I was an arriving guest, that I was merely grabbing a taxi from their rank, he proceeded to inform me that was fine, hailed a cab forward and helped me with my bags out of the car and into the taxi, then opening the door for me. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Upgrade and great bed Upon arrival we received an upgrade to a nicer room which was lovely as it was our 32nd wedding anniversary and we quite often go to the Intercontinential each year to celebrate. So that was a nice gesture. I have a lower back problem and am always concerned when sleeping on an unfamiliar bed but the bed in the room was wonderful. I loved the cover over the mattress - made for a lovely night's sleep. 25 March 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Comfortable and great location I stayed here for the Australian Formula 1 Grand Prix weekend and found the hotel to be in a superb location for accessing Southbank, Docklands, trams, trains, buses as well as all the inner city activities Melbourne has to offer. The room was exceptionally clean and the bed and pillows were so comfortable. I didn't use the hotel restaurant or room service, however the menus did look tasty and at a reasonable price. I would definitely stay here again 22 March 2014

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by More Problems at Melbourne Intercontinental Rialto - noise levels from trash colection at 4:45am (especially bottles) and no proactiveness to solve the situation, ended up being switched to another room after declining to accept ear plugs as the first solution proposed by the hotel (did not receive an upgrade to a better room as was suggested by FD manager when changing) - breakfast is expensive and service is not up to its price 17 March 2014
