Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Fabulous stay in Melbourne Exceptional stay at the IC in Melbourne. The staff were attentive without being intrusive; the hotel had a lovely atmosphere, our room was comfortable and the breakfast was superb. This will now be our regular Melbourne hotel stay 09 May 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Everything was great as expected Service, guestroom,bed, bathroom and room service were great. Only issues we had were regarding the executive lounge as it was too small to cater for the number of guests and there was no hot food served. It was also inconvenient having to remove well behaved children of all ages at 6.30pm when drinks and canapes began well before this and concluded @ 8pm. (We have a 5 year old who has been attending executive lounges across Australia since he was 5 weeks old whilst we travel for work and pleasure. 07 May 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Welcoming and friendly It was lovely to be welcomed with such friendliness on my arrival. I was given a lovely room, and every time I arrived or left the hotel I was always greeted, which was nice. The concierge was extremely helpful with restaurant recommendations and anticipating luggage requirements. The hotel staff were also very helpful in helping me recover a laptop , in quick time ,that was left in the room when I left for the airport. The only thing I found somewhat substandard was the breakfast service and offerings. I tried to get fresh fruit with plain yoghurt, I had to order both a fruit platter and a separate yoghurt parfait, which had some fruit with it, this then became quite an expensive fruit and yoghurt breakfast. The fruit platter had the exact same fruit varieties on it that I got served on the aeroplane coming over. I would have expected something a little better. Also the service was haphazard that morning, my coffee didn't arrive, when it did I had to get it replaced. Someone tried to give me another fruit platter and parfait whilst I was in the middle of eating mine, he didn't even notice I had one in front of me till I pointed it out lol .Minor things but noticeable against the rest of my stay which was excellent. 07 May 2014

We had a King Deluxe room which we got at a great rate with our IHG Rewards however the room was right at the end of the floor, next to the service lift which at times was quite noisy with the coming and going of staff. I think we much prefer the inward facing rooms with a bit of an entry way. Also, I had emailed reservations personally before our stay asking for perhaps valet to be thrown in complimentary for us (given the occasion) but seemingly this request wasn't even entertained. I think it's always nice when you're staying somewhere for a special occasion to receive a little extra something during your stay from the place you're staying. It makes the stay memorable. However on this occasion, it wasn't to be. That being said, we always enjoy our time at the Intercontinental. Many thanks. 07 May 2014

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Always a pleasure We were upgraded to the ambassador floor which in my experience is purely just a higher floor. We love the internal view of this unique building and unfortunately or room looked immediately onto the roof.A guaranteed room upgrade was not what we expect with a hotel such as intercontinental. Our welcome was fantastic from the very friendly staff member at the front door through to Andrew at our check in. Love the place but seriously think the ambassador floor is below par. 01 May 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by High quality experience The hotel itself is very impressive architecturally. The staff were extremely friendly and knowledgeable. We ordered room service which was prompt, though skimped a bit on the service for two people: they served only one tray for two people - typically room service rolls in the full table for 2 people so not sure what happened there - plus had just 1 water glass and 1 set of cutlery. They brought back a second set of cutlery immediately. These are very minor comments. Bed was very comfortable. Bathroom and all amenities excellent and high quality. All around excellent experience - recommend to others and will return. 01 May 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Stand by lights I loved everything about the hotel and its service, the food the staff and it's cleanliness. The only thing that i didn't like was the stand by lights around the room. The stand by light of the air-conditioning was right on our face and was really bright. The other stand by light like tv and radio, I was able to cover, but not the one in the wall. Thanks a lot. Nedi 30 April 2014

As usual excellent, friendly staff that go above and beyond our expectations! In particular a new receptionist 'Andrew' that even ventured from behind the desk to point out features, lifts, directions etc, and ensured he went above and beyond to ensure our stay was the best yet! Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Melbourne Rialto I stay with the Intercontinental whenever I can. Over the past year this has been in Taiwan, Singapore, London, Sydney and Melbourne. Almost always it is a great experience. The Rialto was on my list, as it looks appealing both inside and out. Perhaps it was because of the quiet period in the run up to Easter, but there was a distinct lack of ambiance and the hotel didn't feel as special as others that I have stayed in. The staff were on the ball as usual, although it would have been better if there were more of them at breakfast service. Reception was very welcoming upon arrival, and also great as well on departure. One minor gripe is that the Ambassador floor (level 8) doesn't give the the same positive impression that I've had with the upgrade received in London, Sydney and Singapore. Maybe something that the hotel should consider enhancing. 23 April 2014

This was such a fresh approach compared to other hotels I have stayed at where they process you through as a number. Well done to all the team at Intercontinental Melbourne! 21 April 2014

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Overall very good I've stayed at many Intercons and I'm a returned guest at the Melbourne Intercontinental. My arrival in the rain was welcomed with a less than attentive doorman who, despite arriving by taxi at the entrance, offered no assistance with either an umbrella or help with my luggage in the pouring rain. Needless to say, the suit that I was wearing for work was drenched. The numerous times I went in and out of the main entrance, I do not believe I was greeted for farewelled by the same doorman which makes for a weird interaction. The ambiance of the hotel is alluring and seductive. The rooms are lovely and spacious. Housekeeping was immaculate even though they maintained a minimal visible appearance. Room service was prompt and polite. I used the express check out which I presume helps with the staff workload but has increased mine as I have not received a tax invoice. I will be returning to Melb for work later in the year on two further occasions and am tentatively booked at the same hotel. Let's hope it doesn't rain! 20 April 2014

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Wonderful Experience Once Again Spent 3 nights in a king club room and once again it was amazing. We always love staying here and no longer look at any other hotel because we know this is the only place to stay. Our room was large and comfortable, the bed was amazing, just the perfect mattress for a solid sleep. In fact I slept better on this bed than I do at home and we spent a small fortune on our mattress. The club lounge is wonderful we had 3 memorable evening there and the staff we so friendly and remembered our drink preference after the first night. the food was very fresh and tasty plus we received a tasting plate each night that was a nice touch. All the staff we encountered were polite and friendly and made us feel welcomed and special. Thank you Rialto Melbourne for another perfect stay. 17 April 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by great staff and hotel The Intercontinental Rialto delivers everything I expect from this chain and more as I've been upgraded to a Suite last 2 stays. Buffet breakfast great, rooms clean and pleasant but most importantly, excellent staff-friendly, courteous, every single one said hello when we encountered them from out welcome at the door to check-in , to house keeping staff, staff in Club and breakfast area and the man who cooked my eggs. This hotel has maintained its standards whenever we have stayed there 17 April 2014

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Luxury Again the Intercontinental delivers on service and class. As a Gold Ambassador it was nice to have the extra special treatment. . . room upgrade, breakfast, entry to the lounge with afternoon tea and evening drinks. Stayed two nights. Wish it was more. The cost might be a bit steep but we had the two nights for the price of one deal so it was well worth it. Recommended for that special occasion. 09 April 2014
