The hotel is beautiful, fantastic location, and the staff was superb. Great food in the restaraunts, and good selection of beer at the bar. Did not get to use the pool facility, but it looked great. Security at the hotel on New Year's Eve was impressive - handled very well to ensure the guest's privacy while right next to the huge fanfare going on in Bayfront Park across the street. We had an excellent time at the hotel, and were really impressed by the courtesy and helpfulness of the staff. I will definitely stay there again. My only complaint has to do with the size of the beds in the two-bed rooms. Since this is an Intercontinental I would expect the beds to be at least Queen-size for better comfort rather than the full-size beds in the room. The rooms are plenty big to accomodate the larger bed size, and would correct the only negative I had in my stay.

Everything was ok, I had the chance to have a room high floor located with a marvellous sight.
Surely I' ll reserve this hotel when back in Miami.

Great hotel, excellent location, great view, large rooms, good service - just a few things for the management to consider to make the experience even better. Please reserve the cleaning staff a place where they can park their large trolleys with all the cleaning stufff so that they do not need to park in the corridors where the hotel rooms are. During both of our stays in the hotel in Dec 2012/Jan 2013 we found the large cleaning trolley standing right in front of our room almost all through our stay - not a very nice experience. The use of the gyn facilities is also way too expensive in a hotel of this standard - should be included in the price. !5 $ price per visit seems to be a high barrier - the nice gym was almost always empty

Stayed one night at the Intercontinental Hotel in Miami on 12-22-12. There were 22 of us all together. (we were going on a cruise the next day). We pulled up to the hotel and was pleasantly surprised how beautiful it was. It was better than we could have imagined. The staff was wonderful and very helpful as far as getting us all situated and helping us with our luggage, coming and going. A week later after we were back in N.Y. we realized we accidentally left a few things in our room there. The person I spoke to on the phone there was so helpful and was able to locate our items and shipped them back to us in N.Y. Very pleased with this hotel and would definitely stay there again.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Dawn50 No Pool - No Hot-tub - No Problem --- NOT
The hotel is beautifully elegant -- but the Pool heater was broke so therefore no swimming in January and there is no hot tub. So if you are planning for pool time....no good.
I did spring for club level rooms as we were celebrating a 50th Birthday and I have to say the staff for Happy hour was awesome!
On the day of our check-out we went for breakfast and a walk to return to our rooms to be locked-out, our keys had been inactivated PRIOR to check-out time and we had to WAIT for security to open our room.
We also had issues with requesting taxi to port -- were told to be there at noon and a van would be there for us... when we showed-up they looked at us like we had three heads...
For the $$ we paid I guess I expected an Elegant experience to match the hotel look...

You lost my reservation for New Years dinner and after. You overcharged for sitting in the lobby after dinner. You did not put my luggage in the car and I had to drive back to get it. You tried to charge me for internet and the fitness center even though I was told it was included. You put us in a room in a corner. My view was of another building. I brought a guest and felt embarrassed. I will never go to the Bayside Interconti again!!!

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by vitraveller Great room, terrible service and management
I had high expectations for my New Year's Eve trip! I'm from Brazil and decided to take a family trip to Miami and chose the Intercontinental for its location and for the NYE's party. I asked for an early check-in, and none was available, so the receptionist wrote down my mobile number and promised to call me whenever the room was ready (after a 9 hour flight, I was pretty tired). Anyways, I waited until check-in time was open and when I started my registration, the person behind the counter told me "your room was ready around 3 hours ago". Really? And no one cared to call me. Well, after that, I went up to my room, 2501, and the key didnt work. I had to go back down again and the receptionist gave me another set of keys. And those didnt work. So I called the front desk from the telephone beside the elevator and said that I was not going down AGAIN and for them to send someone over to figure out what was happening. It took 20 minutes (as I waited at the room's hallway) for someone to come up, opened the door with his master-key card and said he had to call an engineer to figure out what was going on. I then received a call from the bellman asking what color were my luggage because they couldnt find my tags. I had to go down AGAIN and point at my lugagge so he would bring it up. I decided not to wait in the room since the engineer said it would take a while, so I went out and only returned at night, when the lock finally worked. Then, NYE finally arrived and I was excited to spend the night with my family at the party, which I had reserved and received a confirmation from Nicole, after sending all my credit card details. As I arrived to the party, my name was NOT on the list and there were no records that I had paid the party. Seriously? I had received the confirmation 2 weeks ago. After ruining my NYE, the next thing to mention is that this hotel has the WORST cleaning staff I have ever experienced. My room seemed to be dirty and the trash was never emptied. (I stayed an entire week, so imagine an entire week of trash in the bin). The only compliment I have is for the infrastructure and the room, which is beautiful. But I do not plan to stay at this hotel EVER again and I will certainly not recommend it to my friends.

My husband and I stayed here the night before our cruise. Afterwards, we regretted not staying at the Intercontinental in Miami longer! The room was georgious and spacious! We watched our ship dock that night. All the staff was very helpful and friendly! I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone and we will definitely stay there again when we get the chance! The room was a little pricey, but they made up for the cost in service and comfort!

I've stayed at different intercontinental hotels many times and always had a great experience. This time unfortunately it was not the case. I made a reservation months in advance for a king size bed yet got a double bed and could not be switched due to availability. The housekeeping was poor, had to call back to get the toilet cleaned and found dirty underwear from a prior guest in the closet. The parking attendant lost my rental car key and after an hour when I asked to go to the garage and look myself found keys had been left in the car. The phone had an issue and kept ringing every hour or so. Lobby computer to print boarding passes was not working and when I mentioned at front desk was just told 'sorry' instead of trying to help with me some other way.

Overall, I had a great stay. The location is fabulous and the on-site restaurant is good. I enjoyed the Desserts!
The Bay View is really nice and the rooms offer electric blinds and screen to enjoy the view.
The sleep comfort of the bed and pillows were nice.
The only complaint was the noise level for adjacent rooms and
I did not get recognized as an Ambassador Member.

My family and I stayed at the Intercontinental Hotel two nights after a cruise. The room was nice and comfortable and the staff's customer service was superb. We received a call in the middle of the day asking if we were enjoying our stay and if we needed anything! The location is great, we walked to the Bayside Marketplace for dinner and did a little shopping and also caught one of the Miami Heat games at the American Airlines Arena. We will return to this hotel when visiting Miami!

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by mrfrsy Spacious room and great views
Beautiful and upbeat lobby. Spacious room and the most beautiful view of the port! You MUST stay in a water view room - incredible (and really worth every penny). Right next to Bayfront Park and minutes of walking from Bayside Marketplace. Good value for how much I paid. But I've experienced better from InterContinental and from similar upscale brands, so I was let down in a few aspects: 1. If you stay in a room with a light display in the window (most floors), at night even with ALL the window shades down, the light still flickers into your room. Blackout shades do not reach the bottom. 2. Called in to ask if they had slippers beforehand, they said yes, request upon arrival. Got there, no slippers available. There was also no body wash in the amenities. Even the Holiday Inn Express has that. 3. No gym/spa access - had to pay $15 extra a day. Basic machines should be free. 4. Upon check-in, two agents at counter assisting no one. My family arrived at counter, no one even glances up. Lady looked up and noticed us but just nudged the next person to help us, who was the Manager on Duty. Not a welcoming first impression, but the rest of the stay helped make it up. Overall, wonderful hotel/location, but should focus more on the service and details.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Debbs Terrible Room
We arrived at the property at midnight and had 3 rooms reserved.
The room was filthy. There was trash on the floor in the bathroom, the fabric frame around the bed was filthy, rug wasn't swept. I called downstairs and ordered room service. The next day when we returned the room was no better and the room service tray was still there and so was the trash. The dirty towels we left on the floor were folded and put back on the rack-I don't reuse towels at home so why would I reuse them from the dirty floor in the hotel? We have stayed at the Boston property and it was wonderful. This was not so. We had the breakfast included. Coffee was never hot, they had a 4 slice toaster and dozens of people waiting to use it. We were there 6 miserable days. They didn't even replace the coffee and creamer without being called and I was sick of calling them. They need to clean their rooms!

My daughter had the breakfast buffet on Sunday morning before we left on our cruise.
I made the mistake of not looking at the menu for the pricing so when i saw $24.00 per person i was really surprised.
I felt that $24.00 for the buffet was to say the least over priced. There was a minimal choice of food. For the money i paid i really would have expected quite a bit more.

What a beautiful hotel! The lobby is stunning (and it has a Starbucks!). Our King room was HUGE. The bed was very comfortable. The long window had automatic sheers and drapes that closed with the touch of a button. The bath had double sinks, a separate tub and a walk-in shower with double rainheads. Biscayne Bay Park was directly across the street and an easy walk led to the Mall area with lots of shopping, restaurants, boat rides. We felt this hotel was a great value and had the best location in the area and would highly recommend it.

I have rarely had the quality of customer service I experienced during my stay at this amazing hotel. The staff were extraordinarily friendly and knowledgeable! I am a younger traveler and nothing annoys me more than to be treated differently because I appear to be younger. The staff maintained the same level of customer service and courtesy for every person which is something I pay very close attention to. I travel for work frequently and I have never been more impressed or had another experience to top it! By the way the Turkey Burger is to die for! Will definitely return.

I treated my mother to a cruise and decided to book this hotel en route back to London. I was amazed at what fantastic value this hotel offered and the comfort and kind hospitality and helpfulness of the staff there. I will definitely recommend to all friends who are visiting Miami to stay at this hotel. I am looking forward to visiting the hotel again in the not too distant future.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Taz001 Great location downtown
Booked two rooms to accomodate the family. One room received an upgrade to a suite because of my platinum status. The rooms were nice with a comfortable bed. Our room had a great view over the water. One tip, book a club room as it will save you money in the end. Club level was really nice although the Intercontintal Club should be somewhat larger. Sometimes the place was cramped. Tasty breakfast and superb happy hour!
The lobby was really nice, though some people will think it is loud and noisy due to the (loud) music playing there.
(valet) parking was, like all downtown hotels, outrageous... 36$/day is just not a correct price. But since this seems to be the price in Miami, you have two options: take it or leave it...

The people at ICM were the best!! My family was spending some days before our cruise. We wanted a hotel near the port and close to local shopping and restuarants. The ICM accomplished both. We were within walking distance of a local outdoor market that had plenty to view, eat, and buy. Visiting at night really made the market shine. In addition, our room was ready even after a late arrival which the wife really enjoyed. My request for our suite to be on the highest floor was acknowledged on both visits (we stayed at ICM before and after our cruise). The views were wonderful!!
On our next visit to Miami, our place to stay is ICM for sure!!
