Rated 4.1 out of 5 by 343 reviewers.
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Great Hotel - Not so good room I typically stay at the Milwaukee Intercontinental when in town and love the reliability of quality and service I receive. This trip the condition of the room, specifically the bathroom was very sub standard. As of late, the hotel has not been able to offer me the room rate I am required to secure, so I have not been staying there as often. Perhaps they are renovating and I just happened to get a room not completed. 27 August 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great service, good value, cool vibe Seeking a comfortable hotel close to downtown attractions, we were delighted to find a great value at the InterContinental. The hotel is conveniently located across the street from the performing arts center, a block from the Riverwalk, and a trolley ride ($1!) from the Milwaukee Museum of Art and the Public Market (both must-see attractions). The lobby exudes the look and feel of a chic club with a hip bar, live music, mood lighting, flowing fountain, original artwork, and plenty of seating for lounging and enjoying the vibrant atmosphere. The front-desk staff is first-rate: well groomed, courteous, professional. We were warmly welcomed by Paul and received concierge-level service, including several dining recommendations and a coupon for breakfast at Kil@wat, the hotel’s excellent restaurant. Our room was clean, nicely decorated, and relatively quiet for an urban setting; the small bathroom was well stocked with good-quality towels. The queen beds were very comfortable, providing a good night's sleep on better-quality sheets and pillows. For extra convenience, though, we would suggest adding a microwave and a fridge as standard amenities. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay, especially the unbeatable senior rate. Plus, we received recognition as Platinum Elite Rewards Club members, and our Rewards Points were posted promptly. Highly recommended for a visit to the Milwaukee area! 25 August 2014
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by You need help Location in Milwaukee good, Lobby nice, parking information conveyed to guest terrible, broken light in room light out and luggage stand broken, needs exhaust fan in bathroom, peeling paint in bathroom 24 August 2014
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Goldilocks and the bad mattress This was a lovely hotel. The staff were super helpful, both on the phone and in person. The hotel is well situated in the heart of downtown Milwaukee. I arrived late after a day out and got a room on the top floor (1006) with a lovely view. However, the beds were in really bad shape. I started in the bed near the TV but had to switch after 10 minutes because the mattress was so soggy I was in a horseshoe shape. The bed towards the wall was not much better, and it was a painful uncomfortable night of sleep. Both beds were on older model mattresses with springs and they had placed a down pad on top of them but it did not improve the night. I reported the mattress to staff the following morning who were apologetic but still think its worth mentioning. Breakfast bar is not included in these rates, so I had to seek out my morning meal elsewhere. Hotel room was clean, corridors were quiet and staff was very kind but don't be afraid to ask for a room switch if you get a soggy mattress! 24 August 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great location! This hotel is close to everything and the staff is very professional. 23 August 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Comfortable bed and great service Bed and pillows were extremely comfortable, one of the best sleeps I ever had at any hotel in the Milwaukee dowtown area, and I believe I have stayed in most of them. Great location, walking distance to several restaurants options. Great customer service of front desk and vallet parking personnel. 22 August 2014
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Not what I was expecting I was expecting a lot when I made this reservation. It's a Marcus property and they are known to be very good. When we arrived our room was not ready and we had to wait 40 minutes before we could get into the room. When we did enter the room the a/c was set at 60 degrees! It was freezing! The vent made a noise when we turned the heat on. We stayed in the pink room and we did not receive our amenity until 11pm when we had returned for the night and I contacted the front desk. We were supposed to get a trio of cupcakes and received chocolate covered strawberries that tasted old. The internet was another issue, so we ended up not even using it. Just a very poor experience. 21 August 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by great location We liked the location of the Intercontinental for a one night stay in Milwaukee. It is located near parks and the river walk. The lobby and the staff are wonderful. However, the room was old and the bathroom was antiquated with a very stained bathtub. The counter space was crowded and it just wasn't up to the standard of what I expect from an Intercontinental. I had upgraded the room and it was the strangest layout with the bathroom being in the middle of the room. There was no minibar. 21 August 2014
