We enjoyed a most comfortable stay here. From check-in to dining to check-out the experience was most pleasing. Staff are all very courteous and accommodating and the room was very comfortable. The bed was extremely comfortable and made it hard to not stay in bed.

This hotel stood up to my demand of a clean bathroom. It had lots of food options and accommodations with my crazy food restrictions. Lastly, it had a robe and shower gel, which might seem silly, but something I'm very picky about.

We stayed at the Intercontinental Milwaukee for two nights. The first night, the air conditioner was not working and the room was scorching hot. We called the front desk and they sent up a tech. He spent 15 minutes "fixing" the problem. When we returned from dinner, the room was even hotter than it was before. The same tech returned and said he accidentally turned a switch off on the machine and fixed it. So, by 3 AM, the room was cool enough to sleep in. When we woke up the next day, we showered. There was decent water pressure in the shower, but the shower quickly became a bath because the drain would not stay open. Added to that was the fact that the toilet would NOT stop running. Again, we called the front desk and they said maintenance would take care of it when we were out for the day. When we get back to the room that evening, not only is the bathroom unchanged, but housekeeping left us one bath towel and no floor mat. Again, we called the front desk. No one ever brought the towels or floor mat up, so we used one towel for the rest of the trip. The worst part of all of this came on the second night. There was a terrible downpour from about midnight to 3 AM. For some reason, the hotel had full sized sheets of plywood on the roof outside our window. The rain was making a constant thud on the wood all night long.
Needless to say, this was the worst experience either my wife or I have ever had at a hotel. We frequently visit this city and will never be visiting this hotel again. The worst part is that the people working there seemed to be very nice. Just incompetent, I guess.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by M1935 Great Hotel - Not so good room
I typically stay at the Milwaukee Intercontinental when in town and love the reliability of quality and service I receive. This trip the condition of the room, specifically the bathroom was very sub standard. As of late, the hotel has not been able to offer me the room rate I am required to secure, so I have not been staying there as often. Perhaps they are renovating and I just happened to get a room not completed.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Patmac Great service, good value, cool vibe
Seeking a comfortable hotel close to downtown attractions, we were delighted to find a great value at the InterContinental. The hotel is conveniently located across the street from the performing arts center, a block from the Riverwalk, and a trolley ride ($1!) from the Milwaukee Museum of Art and the Public Market (both must-see attractions). The lobby exudes the look and feel of a chic club with a hip bar, live music, mood lighting, flowing fountain, original artwork, and plenty of seating for lounging and enjoying the vibrant atmosphere.
The front-desk staff is first-rate: well groomed, courteous, professional. We were warmly welcomed by Paul and received concierge-level service, including several dining recommendations and a coupon for breakfast at Kil@wat, the hotel’s excellent restaurant.
Our room was clean, nicely decorated, and relatively quiet for an urban setting; the small bathroom was well stocked with good-quality towels. The queen beds were very comfortable, providing a good night's sleep on better-quality sheets and pillows. For extra convenience, though, we would suggest adding a microwave and a fridge as standard amenities.
Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay, especially the unbeatable senior rate. Plus, we received recognition as Platinum Elite Rewards Club members, and our Rewards Points were posted promptly. Highly recommended for a visit to the Milwaukee area!

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Goldilocks456 Goldilocks and the bad mattress
This was a lovely hotel. The staff were super helpful, both on the phone and in person. The hotel is well situated in the heart of downtown Milwaukee. I arrived late after a day out and got a room on the top floor (1006) with a lovely view. However, the beds were in really bad shape. I started in the bed near the TV but had to switch after 10 minutes because the mattress was so soggy I was in a horseshoe shape. The bed towards the wall was not much better, and it was a painful uncomfortable night of sleep. Both beds were on older model mattresses with springs and they had placed a down pad on top of them but it did not improve the night. I reported the mattress to staff the following morning who were apologetic but still think its worth mentioning. Breakfast bar is not included in these rates, so I had to seek out my morning meal elsewhere.
Hotel room was clean, corridors were quiet and staff was very kind but don't be afraid to ask for a room switch if you get a soggy mattress!

Bed and pillows were extremely comfortable, one of the best sleeps I ever had at any hotel in the Milwaukee dowtown area, and I believe I have stayed in most of them. Great location, walking distance to several restaurants options. Great customer service of front desk and vallet parking personnel.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by ekf101212 Not what I was expecting
I was expecting a lot when I made this reservation. It's a Marcus property and they are known to be very good. When we arrived our room was not ready and we had to wait 40 minutes before we could get into the room. When we did enter the room the a/c was set at 60 degrees! It was freezing! The vent made a noise when we turned the heat on. We stayed in the pink room and we did not receive our amenity until 11pm when we had returned for the night and I contacted the front desk. We were supposed to get a trio of cupcakes and received chocolate covered strawberries that tasted old. The internet was another issue, so we ended up not even using it. Just a very poor experience.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by jkp543 great location
We liked the location of the Intercontinental for a one night stay in Milwaukee. It is located near parks and the river walk. The lobby and the staff are wonderful. However, the room was old and the bathroom was antiquated with a very stained bathtub. The counter space was crowded and it just wasn't up to the standard of what I expect from an Intercontinental. I had upgraded the room and it was the strangest layout with the bathroom being in the middle of the room. There was no minibar.

Our stay was GREAT. My only concern is the lack of drawer space. We had a king room with an adjoining space with 2 couches in it. There were only 2 drawers in the entire space.

Kyle & Ronan were very helpful and courteous! It was wonderful to see Nadia, again!
The room was wonderful, the view fantastic! Milwaukee is a fabulous city and The Intercontinental is very well located. Their valet parking was very reasonable when compared to their park-yourself rate. I have stayed here before for an extended time, and this was, by far, and a wonderful experience! I would highly recommend!

This is my second stay at this hotel because my previous experience was excellent. In prior years I stayed at another Hotel but in 2013 i decided to try this hotel and I was extremely happy with everything. I remembered in 2013 when I stayed there I had wine spill on my clothes and I gave it to the front desk and I could not beleive how excellent the dry cleaning was and the quick turn around in cleaning my clothes. I also like the customer service there when I have to interact with your employees everyone is always polite which makes my stay more enjoyable. I will always stay there and will reccommend it or any other inter continental whenever get the chance.

Having an extra day before heading home , we decided to stay in the city. Selected the Intercontinental based on the location. Great choice!! Beautiful, clean room with fantastic view overlooking the park and Riverfront. Staff members were very accommodating and friendly. Being a Sunday, the larger restaurant was closed so we ate in the smaller restaurant/lounge. Small but decent menu with great waitress and bartender who makes the best Chocolate Cherry Martinis. Overall, very pleasant experience.

Room seemed rather small-beds were comfortable, but there was only one easy chair, and one desk chair. There was no table, so if you ordered from room service you had to take turns eating at the desk. Needed another chair, at least.

This hotel is in a great location to access the river walk, 3rd Ward, theater, and loads of restaurants. We stayed for an anniversary weekend and pretty much parked the car and walked everywhere we wanted. Great staff in all areas of the hotel and outstanding restaurant on site (Kilowatt) I especially recommend their breakfast. Thanks for another great weekend, we will be back.

This was my first visit to the hotel. After this visit, I'd stay again anytime I was in Milwaukee. It's a wonderful place. The decor was modern and welcoming. It was the staff and their attention to customer service that made this stay memorable. From checking in at the front desk, to meals at the restaurant, and checking out again, excellent service from all. The food at Kil@watt was outstanding! Great views of downtown from my room. I really enjoyed my time there. Great place!

My daughter and I stayed two nights to attend the phantom of the opera at Marcus center performing arts (which is directly across the street). We enjoyed our stay very much. Parking was readily available in the parking garage, easy accessby walking to nearby shops/resturants, staff was excellent in service. The room service menu was a little slim picking for kids but we made do. The bed was heaven and the hotel is only a few blocks from Lake Michigan. I would defintely recommend this hotel and would return without any hesitations.
