Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great hotel and staff We went to Clement Monterey for our anniversary and it was everything that we could ask for. We had a balcony, oceanfront room with fireplace and it was just amazing. The staff were so friendly and so helpful. We loved the restaurant and the bar area. Music in the afternoons was just wonderful. The firepits out on the patio were so nice. The beds are so comfortable. We fully expect to come back to this location for a visit. You will not be disappointed. 19 March 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Perfect Staycation! This hotel makes paying for the Ambassador status worth it! The hotel is clean and modern. Our oceanfront room was offered to us as our upgrade and it was breathtaking. All of the staff from the front desk, room service, the restaurant, valet, doormen and housekeeping were accommodating. This hotel is our new favorite staycation place! 19 March 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Thoughful staff and Great Location We pulled up in motorcycles and were instantly greeted, with a designated parking spot while we checked in. The parking lot accomodations for motorcycles were not ideal as we had to share a small spot that would have made it difficult for the rear bike to pull out first. Desk staff was very good - quick check in. The room was very nice - with a fireplace and plenty of room. The location is in the heart of Monterrey waterfront, within walking distance of all the shops and restaurants. The hotel bar had a guitarist playing - a nice background for a couple rounds of drinks. 18 March 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Almost Perfect! It's our second time at the Clement. It's as nice as we remember - great staff, great location, great service! The thing that would have made it perfect is an air vent/fan in the bathroom! My personal pet peeve is when you are in the shower and everything fogs up and there is no air - besides I think every bathroom should have air circulation! We must compliment the nice, friendly staff - because in the end if you don't feel welcome and get any kind of attitude - it can ruin your entire stay! Thank you! 17 March 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Overall Stay We were so impressed by our overall experience; this is the first time I have ever provided review or feedback on our stay in any hotel. The highlight was how genuine the staff were. You could tell they were very sincere in their approach to customer service. We actually ended up having great conversations with them and felt you were among friends during the stay. Amenities and quality naturally flows when the staff clearly show a passion for excellence. In all of our hotels in USA we stayed in including a number of high profile hotels, nothing came close to our experience at The Clement. 15 March 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by A perfect Honeymoon night A great hotel in a perfect location for the area. Very nicely decorated throughout and our Junior Suite was larger than anticipated. Great seaviews from our room as promised and our room was nice and quiet. Highly recommended. The only constructive feedback we would give, would be that the extra service and delivery charges automatically added to the restaurant menu charges made us think twice about dining in-house and with plenty of restaurants nearby we choose to eat out of the hotel. 12 March 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Comfortable bed and breathtaking view My husband and I received a gift certificate for the Clement, as well as for the Monterey Bay Aquarium, so we were very excited to use both. We had a lovely stay at the Clement and thoroughly enjoyed our partial ocean view room. The bathroom was wonderful, the room was amazing, and the outside patio with the heaters was so lovely to take advantage of on a chilly night. 11 March 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Retirement Celebration We recently retired from government service and wanted to celebrate by staying at The Clement. What a fabulous choice we made! A beautiful location along the Monterey coast line was only one reason to stay here. Access to the Monterey Bay Aquarium within walking distance was a real plus as well as being in the middle of Cannery Row. We enjoyed doing some bird watching from our room and from the balcony that looked over the bay. The hotel staff was exceptional and treated us like royalty; they even helped us get our popcorn made that we enjoyed while watching a movie in our room. This stay will be long remembered as an exceptional vacation at a fabulous hotel with great amenities and a caring staff. Truly, a once in a life time trip for us. 07 March 2013

The hotel is in a convenient location, walking distance to the aquarium, a short drive to the park.The location is just superb.The staff were true professional, and the restaurant inside the hotel was fabulous. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Chain your door, Unless you want the mini-bar guy coming in before you can get to the door to answer the very short knock. Unbelievable. I was in a wraparound corner suite so the door is around two corners and some distance from the bathroom where I was. By the time I heard my door open and turned the corner, this guy was in the room and almost bumped into me. Completely unacceptable. I should have told the manager about it. The room was fantastic and the rest of the staff was also very good. 04 March 2013

The hotel is ideally located, it's right near the aqaurium and cannery row restaurants and shopping. We didn't get in our car once during our two day stay because everything we wanted to see or do was within walking distance. 02 March 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great service with a smile We stayed at the Clement in Monterey for the first leg of our business/leisure trip and it was the best part of our trip. The staff was efficiently and extremely friendly, calling us by name each item and answering all our questions in an efficient and timely manner. The front desk quickly checked us in and made sure we had a paper each day and water every time we came by. They gave excellent directions to things are ounce own and eir recommendations for meals were spot on. The conc,iege was extremely helpful with directions. And recommendations also. Or room was great and the location Qin avCannery Row perfect. The wold experience at the Clement was far superior to the hotels we stayed qt on the rest of our trip. We would definitely recommend the InterContinental Hotel system and the Clement as well as stay with them again.. 28 February 2013

I have stayed at Intercons around the world and while the location of this property may not seem to fit in the normal mode of this storied hotel brand, the staff and the property are fully representative of their long and well deserved reputation. From the front desk staff to room service, to the scrumptious food and drink at the hotel restaurant, the experience was top notch. Other than a slight glitch one time with the valet, this hotel and more importantly the management know the meaning of Customer Service. I will definitely return and fully recommend to anyone who is looking for a luxury hotel in the best location in Monterey. 28 February 2013

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Such a nice hotel I love this hotel. Its so nice. Its convenient to get to the Aquarium. It is like a sanctuary among the chaos of Cannery Row. We had a few issues with our reservations. We had changed them prior to arrival to shorten our stay, but there was no record of this when we arrived. Fortunately the gentleman who checked us in took care of it all withot hassle. Every staff member at this hotel is wonderful. I have no reservations about recommending it! 27 February 2013

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Didn't live up to my expectations Although our visit to Monterey was quite memorable, our stay at The Clement was not. The hotel is in a perfect location right in the thick of the action of Cannery Row and right on the beautiful bay of Monterey yet the service provided by an undertrained staff and overall design of the hotel we found quite lacking, The service staff although extremely friendly did not quite grasp the concept of how to provide the type of service that the expense of the hotel warranted. When charging the fares we were charged we expected to receive more than mediocrity in this regard. I would highly recommend not only to train the staff on what to say and what to do at "valet, check in, the bar, the outdoor lounge, room service, and concierge" but to also take it one step further and train them on the overall concept of what defines exceptional customer service and then to expect it of them on a regular basis. Let me repeat however, every person who helped us was extremely nice and incredibly friendly which made it all ok. One of the reasons we chose this hotel was because of the great look as portrayed from the wonderful photos on the hotels website. However upon arrival we found the actual hotel design and layout odd. There is a very nice seating area in the middle of the hotel, but unless you take the time to explore and walk past the check in...you would never know it was there. The outdoor patio located in front of this seating area seemed unfinished. This patio is actually surrounded by the hotel walls themselves and thus feels "closed" in and claustrophobic. Perhaps just better seating, lighting and maybe even some plants or something other than the two fire pits would lend to an atmosphere in which one would wish to sit enjoy the view of the water. As far as the pool (which is really not necessary to have in Monterey weather). Why even mention to it to guests other than to say its an extension of the work out area....a lap pool. The "Ocean Terrace" I believe it was called...hmmm....I felt sorry for the guests staying in the rooms whose patio doors opened up to the terrace as the lack of privacy they would experience during a Reception of any sort would be unbearable. Also valet should be covered..guests staying in rooms directly above the valet drop off and pick up should not have to experience the smells of exhaust and hear the sounds of engines while they are in their rooms.. The design like the service just felt like good effort but not quite up to par. I am planning my next trip to San Francisco now, and I have already passed on the Intercontinental chain as an option if this hotel is an indication of what to expect. 24 February 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Dont Use a debit card I used my debit card, I made sure I had enough to cover my stay. Which was about 950 dollars including valet and the aquarium ticket. I made sure I had 1000 dollars to cover it. They authorized 600 dollars the first night and then tried to charge 400 plus the second night it didnt go through. So they decided to authorize 20 different transactions. I am now overdrawn 500 dollars. I checked in on the 16 and checked out on the 18th. It is the 23rd and I have not been credited. I have no access to my money and they have not offered anything in return. I am frustrated. The hotel was great except for this situation. 23 February 2013

Beautiful Pacific Ocean view from the exceptionally clean and stylish suite with a fireplace. The Clement Eggs Benedict for breakfast capped off a very memorable and enjoyable stay. There's nothing else I could have wanted while staying at the Clement. I truly look forward to staying here again the next time I'm in the area. 15 February 2013

Was there on business but enjoyed the surrounding area without having to take my car....staff was incredibly attentive, room was very nice with comfy king bed, fireplace and very nice modern bathroom. Have stayed in Monterey/Carmel area many times and have to say that this was a pleasant surprise....would definitely stay again and have already recommended to my friends and colleagues. 06 February 2013

The hotel was very comfortable, quiet, and convenient to the amenities offered on Cannery Row. The concierge and staff were very helpful and polite. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Couldn't be better Same room Dec 2012 and January 2013, hope the next time will be the same. Room 366, looking both way of Cannery Row and the ocean. Warm and comfy fireplace. More than enough room to stretch out and relax.. Breakfast at C-Bar, YOUR Clement Eggs Benedict ... can't be beat. Will definitely return, can't get enough of Monterey, Cannery Row and Clement Hotel. FYI: you have a nice chair in the room, BUT, for a handicap person, one a little higher would be more manageable. Like the raised toilet in ADA rooms, a regular height 'lounge' chair is a little hard to lift out of. 28 January 2013
