Everything was OK except for the Housekeeping service. The Housekeeping did not do the turn service for room 403 until I called and requested it every evening. I had family in rooms 401 and 403. Turn down service was deplorable at best. Had trun down done correctly only the first nite - bed sheets folded down, ice provided, dirty towels replaced, chocolates.
No shampoo the second night in room 401 when we returned from a day trip.
I thought there was supposed to be quality service when staying in the rooms facing the water.
Cluadia was excellent in the room service.
Lucille provided excellent information.
Housekeeping Left message at 1:24 the second day saying they could not clean the room due to the do not disturb sign being posted. But never checked back later in the afternoon and did not clean or provide towels for room 403.

First class service during our stay at the Intercontinental -- including the concierge staff, the bellhop, and the parking attendants. Nice accommodations at a fantastic location right on Cannery Row.

This hotel is located directly across from the Monterey Bay Aquarium. Cannery Row seems quite touristy, like Fisherman's Wharf in San Francisco, but the Aquarium is world class and a definite star. Rather than having specific species it focus on the ecology of the Bay, from beachside to deep trench. There are many activities and displays that appeal to children.
The hotel itself is attractive, subdued in decoration which was calm and pleasant. Staff were excellent. The restaurant was quite book, albeit a little pricey.
I hate having to pay for internet service in a four star hotel when it is free at local B and Bs and internet cafes.

My husband and I stayed at The Clement in Monterey for our 1 year wedding anniversary. The overall experience and customer service was beyond amazing. We won't be staying anywhere else next time we're in the area.

The suites are incredible. Just a wonderful place to take the family. We came with our 21 month old and a 2 week old, the suite was a luxury we weren't expecting.
Room service portions are tiny, so I would recommending if you are going to eat in, going out to pick up the food from one of the many surrounding restaurants.

I can't say enough about this hotel. Impeccable room with a gas fireplace, giant bathroom, comfy beds. Immaculately clean. A step up from our usual hotel chain choice. Not that we didn't pay for that step up! We purchased a one night package that included a two day pass to the aquarium next door- wonderful, yet pricey. But totally worth the splurge if you are in Monterey. We were a family of four.

The Clement was one of the 5 hotels that we stayed in during our visit to California and I have to say, it would probably rank #1. We loved it! It was a very nice, clean and comfortable hotel and I wouldn't hesitate to stay there again or to recommend it to others.

We have stayed at The Clement every year since it has been openned. The staff is always professional and competent. The rroms are clean and spacious. It is the only place we will stay at on our annual trip to Monterey.

After some disapointments in L.A. Century City Intercontinental, my wife and I were very pleased to discover the perfect Clement Monterey Intercontinental. Rooms are modern and elegant, quiet, with all features (chemneys!) and the views are just nice and authentique. The concierge recommended great restaurants (Whaling Station, ...), the vallet was very useful in various explanations, so everything that is paid for worths it.
I'll come back there for sure!

Had a Great stay at the IC Monterey. Checking staff very welcoming. Super rooms and very centrally located. Pool is tiny so we never used it. Concierge more interested on chatting to her friends than helping guests. Didn't want to know. Only staff member I could criticize others were superb. Be patient at breakfast time but when it arrives its very good. Would definitely recommend a stay here super comfy beds . 2 doubles beds great for families.

Front desk staff welcomed me and acknowledged my priority status. Made conversation while searching for a room for us. Told us about the restaurant and bar and let us know happy hour.
Staff in Bar was friendly and very attentive. We like the wine and food. The hotel had a very inviting atmosphere and we will return when in the area.

This hotel was very clean. Staff was extremely friendly, as well as the valet service. The room with fireplace was a very nice touch and the workout room was very satisfactory. In addition, the pool was a little small, but it is very romantic. I would recommend this hotel for couples and the fireplace rooms are a must!

Checked in on Christmas Eve only to find out that my room was not clean (housekeeping had not dusted the room and it looked like it hadn't been dusted in a very long time). I let the hotel know 2x but the issue was not taken care of until the next day when housekeeping did the daily cleaning of the room).
Also, there was only one robe and pair of slippers - the hotel knew their were 2 guests in the room.
Lastly, the bathroom sink did not produce hot water.

My fiance and I came down here as a last minute 2 day gettaway at the end of the week following Christmas. The price was reasonable compared to other places in the area and we have stayed at a few Intercontinental Hotels before in which we have had a positive experience.
The staff made us feel welcome from the moment we pulled into the vallet, offering restaurant recomendations on the spot. I was addressed by my name and always asked if I needed anything. The property was beautiful and felt very home like. Our room was great, balcony overlooking Cannery Row, very comfortable furniture and bed. However the bathroom could use a larger bath tub. There is definitely a good 2ft of space int he bathrooms to facilitate a larger bathtub. The current bathtub is too small for 2 people. I was also caught off guard that the hotel charged $10 for wifi in the room. What hotel still charges their guests for wifi? That came as a shocker but not something that will ruin a weekend. Regarding the restaurant, we did not check it out. However, we would like to have breakfast there on our nex visit.
Overall, this was a great hotel with friendly staff, a fantastic location and atmosphere, and definitely a positive experience. I would recommend staying here on your next trip to Monterey, CA!!!

I was looking forward to a nice stay at the Clement after a great day diving. With the Ambassador program I got an amazing upgrade to a great suite! Gorgeous views and great location for our dives at Breakwater. Food at the bar and the staff were great. Hot tub and pool were great as well. Definitely coming back again for another stay and surprise the wife with the accomodations.

As I wrote on TripAdvisor: When the staff at check in told me, "I'm so sorry, but I'm going to have to upgrade you to an Ocean View" with a naughty wink, I knew I was in for a treat. I'll have to put this on the record: The Clement Monterey hotel was the best five-star hotel I've stayed in, hands down. I'm strictly limiting the scope to USA, of course. It doesn't compare to the standard of luxury you get in Asia, but it's a close contender. The view was stunning, the service flawless, the room #particularly the bed# was super comfortable. I will be back.
Get the Ocean View room, the view of the ocean and sea otters frolicking was so worth it. I had room 328.

Toldf to call 15 to 20 mins ahead for help with checking out and valet. Did this. Waited half an hour. Nothing. Called again and told they were very busy. Waited another half hour. Husband then went down with our clothes, no help, spoke to Valet. They said call didn't go through. When we checked out at front desk, I was not asked how things had been. I then told them about the experience (we could have been waiting ? how long). "Oh, we dropped the ball. Have to look into that". No real concern shown just corporate politeness. Very unimpressed. We won't renew our ambassador membership.

The hotel was everything it should be. First, the location is amazing. Literally right next door to the Monterey Bay Aquarium. We parked our car and never moved it. The hotel also has a very nice bay front area with large walkway and outdoor seating area with fire pits. It is truly lovely. Finally, the indoor common area in the lobby is lovely including a beautiful jelly fish stair case. Magical!
The rooms were also very nice. Bedding , linens, and extras were all top notch. We slept very well.
We were in the back part of the hotel as we did not pay the extra for a room with a view. I recommend this option as it is best to walk along the bay rather than overlook it in the hotel room. The back area was noisy as it bordered Cannery Row. HOwever, the sliding door was very solid and when it was closed, you could not hear any noise. We had two adjoining rooms and even though the door was open, we couldn't hear their TV or any noise. Great rooms, very quiet.
We'll be back!

This hotel was amazing. It accommodates families as well as couples. The rooms were wonderful, the food exceptional, and the price reasonable. Don't look any further, this hotel is the best in the area regardless of the great price. We travel to Monterey often and will be only staying at this hotel in the future. Thanks for a great stay.

We come back each year for the Big Sur 1/2 Marathon weekend. Each time the staff is respectful, quick to respond, super helpful. The front desk staff was extremely nice. The valet staff is quick each time to bring our car up front. We like that there is immediate street access. The rooms we've stayed in have had views. The bathrooms were always nice. The bed mattress could be a little more plush and I was actually looking forward to sleeping in my own bed after a couple night, but that was the only complaint. The pool is more of a wading pool, but the kids don't mind. Glad to come again next year!

At check-in I requested an up grade to 4th floor ocean view room I was willing to pay more for but was told it was not available not clear on availability so I was given another room. I was given a room near an elevator and an ice machine. I told Nick at the front desk upon checking in that I was concerned about the potential noise these machines make at night and was assured that they would be quite and it should not be a problem. The first night I could not sleep because of either the elevator or ice machine noise; I called to complain and was told I could move the next morning. I was moved to the 2nd floor not near an elevator or ice machine but I had to give up a fireplace which I originally requested and had in the other room. I ended up moving myself to new room. Overall very disappointed in the customer service and experience at this hotel. I was happy with the location and facility.
