Pros : Welcomed upon arrival - no waiting, easy check in with maps and directions to local spots, very clean room with huge balcony, awesome happy hour on the deck, the beds are to die for, super service for dining and drinks, amazing view of the Bay, best location in the area. Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Nice, but I would not call it great for the money - I thought that the hotel was nice. The location was wonderful and in the heart of Cannery Row. It was clean and comfortable, but compared to the cost, I was a little disappointed. - The pool should be advertised as a miniature lap pool. With more than two children in it, it would be very uncomfortable for any additional adults. - The restaurant had a great staff. The service, on the other hand, could not have been slower without having a customer walk out. - The bar may have been fine for beer and wine, but for a mixed drink I really doubt that the bartender had actually had much training. - All in all, I can't say that I would not recommend the hotel, but I would suggest it only if someone could get a highly discounted rate. 29 June 2013

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Fabulous location and great service. We were very pleased to be upgraded to a room with a fireplace, ocean view and balcony. Unfortunately, the chairs on the balcony had been used by birds and were unusable by us. We hoped the chairs would be cleaned with our room, but that was not the case. When we sat outside on the main patio, a hotel employee tried to turn on the heat lamps for us, but they were all out of propane. Otherwise, our stay was very enjoyable. Location is great, you can walk everywhere. Service was impeccable. 29 June 2013

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by best option in Monterey convenient location, great RA treatment and spot on service. restaurant was a pleasant surprise as well, with quiet atmosphere, perfect food and service (much better than other options in the neighbourhood) only thing i could criticise is the fact that the team does not reply to emails/facebook messages/inquiries....but that's not the end of the world 26 June 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Place I made a last minute reservation for the Clement and it turned out to be a great little vacation. The staff from parking attendant, check-in and restaurant were friendly and accommodating, especially early check -in. The only problem was room service, the food was not nearly as quality as the restaurant, so I asked for credit to my account and without hesitation they did so, classy! Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Perfection..............Almost. My wife and I frequent the Monterey and Carmel area and decided to try the Cement. Turned out to be a great choice. We stayed in an ocean front one bedroom suite. Good value. Well appointed and sparkling clean. Comfortable furniture and fabulous bed. The staff from the front desk, housekeeping, and bell desk were 5 star. These folks gave the impression that they were not only doing their job but were dedicated to their industry. True professionals. I regret not getting the bellman's name that assisted us from our room on departure but I was impelled to tip the young man $20.00 for his efforts and felt It was a bargain. Sound perfect? Close. On our trip to Monterey the previous month we had lunch at the C restaurant and the experience was unfortunate. Sub par on every level to the point where we certainly would never return to the restaurant and it was also a negative reflection on the hotel. We decided to return to Monterey but the hotel suite where we usually stay was booked and when I suggested the Clement my wife commented "the place with the nasty restaurant"? Not unexpectedly but unfortunately we experienced the same issues when ordering room service. Not good. The restaurant and the hotel seem as though they are separate entities. The bar experience was very nice however and all in all we will return to the Clement. A little work on the restaurant would be appreciated. 21 June 2013

All areas of the staff from the Bell staff, Front Desk, Wait Staff and Housekeeping were all very friendly and service oriented. Our stay was clean and comfortable. The location on Cannery Row was excellent with a beautiful view and sounds of the ocean. Thank-you Clement Monterey! 19 June 2013

Topping off the stay was the fabulous view ocean view we had while sitting on our balcony watching the waves and otters playing. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Wonderful Time! The location of this hotel was wonderful, right in the heart of Cannery Row. My wife and I were both amazed at how friendly every single hotel employee we ran into was- from the front desk to the bellhops, everyone went out of their way to smile, chat with us, and take care of everything we needed. It was literally our best experience with hotel employee interaction of any place we have stayed. We had an ocean-front room, which was amazing...it felt like we were right over the water. You could see otters and seals swimming underwater from our balcony! Although there are some restaurants and bars in the area, it was extremely quiet at night and we could not hear our neighbors in their rooms at all. We took our baby on the trip, arrived near midnight, and the room was all set up with a crib and a high chair. We switched rooms after the first night (to the ocean front room), and everything went perfectly. Great location allowed us to walk the path along the ocean in either direction. Rooms were clean and modern. Large bathrooms, both rooms we stayed in had showers and separate tub (great for our needs with a baby). Less than 1 block to aquarium. There is also a very nice lobby and outdoor patio with fire pits. If we had not had an ocean front room, this would have been a very nice place to relax in the evening. My wife went to the spa and had a great experience there too! Sea gulls do prowl the area, so any sandwiches or other food left on the balcony will probably be gone within a few minutes, but we were aware of this and didn't have any issues with them. We would highly recommend this hotel and look forward to returning soon! 18 June 2013
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Horrible experience and not worth the money! From the very beginning, this stay was doomed. We arrived right at 4 PM for the check in but were told that the room would not be ready till past 5 PM. When we finally got to our room, the ocean front terrace was full of bird droppings and had to be cleaned. We were also very disappointed about the mini fridge in the room that was designed to only hold the items that were for sale by the hotel and not much more. When we checked in, we told the staff that we were expecting a very important fax with some legal documents the next morning and needed to be notified immediately when it arrived. After checking for the fax the next morning, we were told it had not arrived when it had and we missed a court filling deadline in New York. We also could not enjoy the sounds of the ocean on our terrace because the hotel had loud music blaring from the ground floor facilities from 9 AM till late at night. The straw that broke our back occurred when we left our room at 10 AM the next morning with the maid's truck right by our room and returned past 1:30 PM to find that our room had not been cleaned and we had no clean towels to use. After complaining about the room not being cleaned, we were told that "they" had till 5 PM to clean our room. When we checked out, the manager gave us a $125 credit because of all the problems but it was still a horrible stay and the hotel certainly does not deserve it's four star rating. 18 June 2013

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Fantastic Experience at the Intercontinental Clement I took my dad for a weekend get-away at the Intercontinental Clement. Our stay couldn't have been better. We couldn't stop talking about the service by the staff of the hotel. They were extremely friendly, helpful and provided some of the best customer service that I've experienced in a hotel. Our overall stay was excellent. Kudos to the front desk people, parking attendants, restaurant staff, and everyone that we interfaced with during our trip. We'll definitely be back. 14 June 2013

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 What a place First time in Monterey, and we would never dream of staying anywhere else. The hotel was immaculate, the location (right on the bay) couldn't be beat, and the staff was fantastic. It's right in the middle of everything on Cannery Row, but it's still quiet enough in your room for you to feel tucked away from it all. Plus, you can't beat walking about 100 feet from the hotel to the aquarium. Will definitely stay there again. 08 June 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by "C" by the Sea is worth trying This property (The Clement) is located in the very heart of Cannery Row, with marvelous veiws of Monterey Bay and the Row. The exterior is designed to blend in with the historical cannery archtecture. The clean, sleek, modern lines of the interior styling add to the relaxed atmosphere of the Row, yet lends just enough up-scale to make you feel pampered. There are lots of wonderful, open, common areas to relax, socialize and enjoy the views. The desk staff were wonderful: very welcoming, helpful and knowledgable. We arrived early, so our room wasn't ready, but the staff graciously stored luggage, checked us in, and called us on our mobile # as soon as the room was ready. Sounds minor, but the complimentary bottles of water in the room were a welcome treat to find. The bed was super comfortable and the room was well layed out with plenty of easy to reach outlets for tablets and smart phones. Indoor and outdoor dinning on the water. We ate both dinner and breakfast at "C" and the Calamari appetizer was the best we've ever had; beyond tender and tasty. The battered lemon slices mixed in with the calamari was superb. Breakfast was fresh, hearty portions of each item (eggs, waffles and such) and our waiter gladly made changes to accommodate preferences. We will definately make a return visit. 07 June 2013

Everyone who attended the Spa had wonderful things to say and the location was perfect. Thank you for a memorable stay! The only thing that was uncomfomfortable during our stay, was that it was hot in the evenings with the windows closed. When we opened up the windows, we woke up to the sound of garbage trucks going by at a very early hour. However, overall it was lovely experience! 07 June 2013
