Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Comfy beds well worth a stay Had a Great stay at the IC Monterey. Checking staff very welcoming. Super rooms and very centrally located. Pool is tiny so we never used it. Concierge more interested on chatting to her friends than helping guests. Didn't want to know. Only staff member I could criticize others were superb. Be patient at breakfast time but when it arrives its very good. Would definitely recommend a stay here super comfy beds . 2 doubles beds great for families. 07 January 2013

Told us about the restaurant and bar and let us know happy hour. Staff in Bar was friendly and very attentive. We like the wine and food. The hotel had a very inviting atmosphere and we will return when in the area. 06 January 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by exquisite experience This hotel was very clean. Staff was extremely friendly, as well as the valet service. The room with fireplace was a very nice touch and the workout room was very satisfactory. In addition, the pool was a little small, but it is very romantic. I would recommend this hotel for couples and the fireplace rooms are a must! 03 January 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Room was not clean Checked in on Christmas Eve only to find out that my room was not clean (housekeeping had not dusted the room and it looked like it hadn't been dusted in a very long time). I let the hotel know 2x but the issue was not taken care of until the next day when housekeeping did the daily cleaning of the room). Also, there was only one robe and pair of slippers - the hotel knew their were 2 guests in the room. Lastly, the bathroom sink did not produce hot water. 02 January 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Friendly and Accomidating My fiance and I came down here as a last minute 2 day gettaway at the end of the week following Christmas. The price was reasonable compared to other places in the area and we have stayed at a few Intercontinental Hotels before in which we have had a positive experience. The staff made us feel welcome from the moment we pulled into the vallet, offering restaurant recomendations on the spot. I was addressed by my name and always asked if I needed anything. The property was beautiful and felt very home like. Our room was great, balcony overlooking Cannery Row, very comfortable furniture and bed. However the bathroom could use a larger bath tub. There is definitely a good 2ft of space int he bathrooms to facilitate a larger bathtub. The current bathtub is too small for 2 people. I was also caught off guard that the hotel charged $10 for wifi in the room. What hotel still charges their guests for wifi? That came as a shocker but not something that will ruin a weekend. Regarding the restaurant, we did not check it out. However, we would like to have breakfast there on our nex visit. Overall, this was a great hotel with friendly staff, a fantastic location and atmosphere, and definitely a positive experience. I would recommend staying here on your next trip to Monterey, CA!!! 02 January 2013

On December 22, I proposed to my long time girlfriend out in the back of your hotel. Everyone involved with the planning to the day of service was fantastic. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Best Stay Ever! I was looking forward to a nice stay at the Clement after a great day diving. With the Ambassador program I got an amazing upgrade to a great suite! Gorgeous views and great location for our dives at Breakwater. Food at the bar and the staff were great. Hot tub and pool were great as well. Definitely coming back again for another stay and surprise the wife with the accomodations. 05 December 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Best hotel in Monterey (possibly the US) As I wrote on TripAdvisor: When the staff at check in told me, "I'm so sorry, but I'm going to have to upgrade you to an Ocean View" with a naughty wink, I knew I was in for a treat. I'll have to put this on the record: The Clement Monterey hotel was the best five-star hotel I've stayed in, hands down. I'm strictly limiting the scope to USA, of course. It doesn't compare to the standard of luxury you get in Asia, but it's a close contender. The view was stunning, the service flawless, the room #particularly the bed# was super comfortable. I will be back. Get the Ocean View room, the view of the ocean and sea otters frolicking was so worth it. I had room 328. 03 December 2012
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by couldn't care less Toldf to call 15 to 20 mins ahead for help with checking out and valet. Did this. Waited half an hour. Nothing. Called again and told they were very busy. Waited another half hour. Husband then went down with our clothes, no help, spoke to Valet. They said call didn't go through. When we checked out at front desk, I was not asked how things had been. I then told them about the experience (we could have been waiting ? how long). "Oh, we dropped the ball. Have to look into that". No real concern shown just corporate politeness. Very unimpressed. We won't renew our ambassador membership. 01 December 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Fantastic Location. Great for families visiting the Aquarium The hotel was everything it should be. First, the location is amazing. Literally right next door to the Monterey Bay Aquarium. We parked our car and never moved it. The hotel also has a very nice bay front area with large walkway and outdoor seating area with fire pits. It is truly lovely. Finally, the indoor common area in the lobby is lovely including a beautiful jelly fish stair case. Magical! The rooms were also very nice. Bedding , linens, and extras were all top notch. We slept very well. We were in the back part of the hotel as we did not pay the extra for a room with a view. I recommend this option as it is best to walk along the bay rather than overlook it in the hotel room. The back area was noisy as it bordered Cannery Row. HOwever, the sliding door was very solid and when it was closed, you could not hear any noise. We had two adjoining rooms and even though the door was open, we couldn't hear their TV or any noise. Great rooms, very quiet. We'll be back! 30 November 2012

The rooms were wonderful, the food exceptional, and the price reasonable. Don't look any further, this hotel is the best in the area regardless of the great price. We travel to Monterey often and will be only staying at this hotel in the future. Thanks for a great stay. 28 November 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Luxurious stay We come back each year for the Big Sur 1/2 Marathon weekend. Each time the staff is respectful, quick to respond, super helpful. The front desk staff was extremely nice. The valet staff is quick each time to bring our car up front. We like that there is immediate street access. The rooms we've stayed in have had views. The bathrooms were always nice. The bed mattress could be a little more plush and I was actually looking forward to sleeping in my own bed after a couple night, but that was the only complaint. The pool is more of a wading pool, but the kids don't mind. Glad to come again next year! 28 November 2012

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Disappointing overall value and service At check-in I requested an up grade to 4th floor ocean view room I was willing to pay more for but was told it was not available not clear on availability so I was given another room. I was given a room near an elevator and an ice machine. I told Nick at the front desk upon checking in that I was concerned about the potential noise these machines make at night and was assured that they would be quite and it should not be a problem. The first night I could not sleep because of either the elevator or ice machine noise; I called to complain and was told I could move the next morning. I was moved to the 2nd floor not near an elevator or ice machine but I had to give up a fireplace which I originally requested and had in the other room. I ended up moving myself to new room. Overall very disappointed in the customer service and experience at this hotel. I was happy with the location and facility. 25 November 2012

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Incredible bayfront suite Corner suite overlooking Monterey bay, large soaking tub for two with removable shades so you can see the view whilst in the tub! Second room has sitting area, fireplace, dining table and is completely separate from the bedroom, so two couples can share nicely....two bathrooms make it even better. Front desk staff is amazing, so helpful. Oh, and the bed was comfy too.... :-) Walking distance to Cannery Row, restaurants and the aquarium. Bit of a discount on aquarium tix too, and they're good for 2 days! Can't wait to go back. 24 November 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by A wonderful hotel in all regards We stayed at the hotel on 25th July 2012 for 2 nights when driving up Highway 1 to San Francisco . From the moment we stepped out of our car and gave the keys to the valet the service could not have been better. We stayed in a suite overlooking the bay. It was idyllic. The room was special too. Extremely clean and very well appointed. Breakfast was excellent throughout our stay and the general atmosphere around the hotel was relaxed and the staff were happy. The hotel desk booked a meal in a restaurant , Bistro Moulin, Wave Street which turned out to be a fabulous french restaurant and the Chef and wife team were fantastic ( book it is really worth it). We booked the hotel for our 30th wedding anniversary and it really was worth waiting 30 years - it didn't disappoint us and we will travel back again ( we won't wait 30 years though!) Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by View was awesome & Bed was so Comfortable! It was our first stay at this hotel. I was very happy with the stay. Room was beautiful but a little small. We had a great view of Cannery Row with a view of the ocean in the backround. Fireplace was a nice touch. Staff was very helpful, Professional and fun natured. If there was only one negative is the high noise level in the AM on Cannery Row with all the delievery trucks making drop offs at the stores and restaurants. Hard to sleep in on that side of the Hotel. But, was worth it for the most part to have the view of the Row and Ocean! Great Place to stay and location you can not beat! It would be nice to have a refridgerator that you could use during your stay for items you buy that you want to take home. Although rooms do have fridges, that are stocked by the hotel. 19 November 2012

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Dirty Room Room was dirty floor was filthy. The beds had a sunken hole in both of them. We told the manager of the hotel and showed them we have took pictures with our phone to show how bad it was. The manager said he apologized and when we leave he would have them changed. Unbelievable. July 4th was our anniversary we like going to Monterey even though we also live on the water. We are in shock the money that people get charged for the room they get. We were very disappointed in our stay there. We have stayed in this hotel many times and this was the first time it was horribly dirty and old uncomfortable beds that leave you with a backache when you wake up. 13 November 2012

Unfortunately, the guests at the next room were smoking cigars on their balcony. The smoke and odor totally ruined our stay. 07 November 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Wonderful Anniversary We booked the Clement for our first wedding anniversary. This was our first stay, and we were greatly impressed. Our room was spacious, modern and well maintained. We had a spectacular view of the bay. The first 2 days otters played right in front as if they'd been trained to do so for the guests. The staff was over the top in helpfulness, kindness and professionalism. The valet service can be a bit chaotic at check out time but otherwise timely and helpful. There is no better location in Monterey. We let the valet take our car and walked to sites and restaurants. All in all, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. 07 November 2012

I loved that it was right in the heart of Cannery Row. The pool was a bit of a disappointment, but overall, a very pleasant experience!!! I definately recommend it. 05 November 2012
