When my family arrived at approximately 4:00pm the room was not ready. We had to wait in the lounge for approximately 45 minutes until our suite room 407 was ready. Other guest had to also wait for their rooms as well. The desk staff did issue me a free breakfast voucher. But I had to ask to have my room rate prorated. When I checked out they failed to prorate the room until I pointed out my family and I had to wait 45 minutes for our room. My daughter was not happy on her tenth birthday waiting in the lounge. I went swimming and tried to use the hot tub and the jets were not working. I told two staff members. It took approximately one hour for the maintenance crew to arrive and fix the hot tub on button. When checking out their were two false fire alarms. The hotel staff exited the hotel but did not evacuate the hotel guest. I am glad their was not a real fire! This hotel is only six years old if not for AAA guest this hotel will not be in business.

As a business traveler I stay at many hotels in Canada and the USA each year. I have experienced various levels of accomodations but this hotel rates at the verytop of my list.
I would love to return here some day and highly recommend it to anyone traveling in the area. By far the best in Monterey.

Carlos in "C" restaurant is a spectacular individual.

I was in the king suite with ocean view. Two fireplaces, corner room with expansive windows on two sides, very comfortable, home style room. The bathrooms were fantastic. Spacious showers with double heads, great theme and openess in master bathroom with a huge tub for two and a great view out to the ocean from the tub.
Very well appointed wet bar. Two TV's make this a kid friendly visit.
Staff down at the desk was very helpful. The hotel is very clean and modern but still has a coastal, beach feel.
Room service....I can't say enough about the food and the quality of the food. Breakfast was great!!! And dinner was even better. I had the sea bass one night and the steak the next night...both were outstanding!!!! The room service presentation was very well done on all 3 occasions.

The staff goes above and beyond and is extremely courteous. rooms are quiet and clean, though I was surprised that one had to PAY for wireless internet.. not sure there is any other hotel still doing business in the US that makes customers pay for internet access.....

Conveniently located on Cannery Row, the hotel is perfect. Great staff, quiet and spacious rooms, and wonderful hamburger from the bar (not on menu, but ask for it).

After deciding on a last minute getaway in Monterey, we were so lucky to find The Clement Monterey online. The room was beyond our expectations in comfort and luxury. Our balcony overlooking the bay offered a beautiful view, and the fireplace was a welcome amenity. It couldn't have been better.
