We had a pleasureable holiday experience during a one week stay,
Most services were very good and helpful with the notable exception of the restaurant service, nearly no beach service, friendly but uninspired! Great support from the watersport team, we liked the hotel room and the bungalow was great!!

I've stayed at different Intercontinental Hotels, and different resorts, and I've never come across staff that are so reluctant to help.
When the transfer they booked left without us from the ferry terminal we called them back and they didn't offer any other suggestions or send any taxis. When I asked roughly how much a taxi fare would cost from Tahiti ferry terminal to the airport, I was promptly told they don't know anything outside of Moorea (first of all, this is a resort, all guests travel here by air, how could they not know? And secondly couldn't they make a quick call to the Intercontinental in Tahiti to check?). When we showed up to breakfast late, we were told with quite a lot of annoyance that the restaurant shuts in 10 minutes. All in all for the price they charge I expect the level of service to be far better.
However on the bright side, the water is gorgeous, the facilities are decent, and the rooms are comfortable.

We stayed at the Intercontinental Hotel on Moorea in French Polynesia. We arrived earlier than the 3:00 check in time, and as expected, our over the water bungalow was not available. We had lunch and returned to finalize our check in. The staff apparently did not know what we were at the desk for, and were actually quite rude. When we said that we were looking to get the key to our room, they acted surprised. It appeared that they could not wait to get rid of us. There was no explanation of the amenities of the hotel, including where we could or could not snorkel. The channel for boats to follow was only 40 feet from our entry point in the ocean. The desk staff were incredibly unhelpful.

Great location with stunning beauty and fantastic water activities. Over water bungalow was very nice, west facing for sunsets and quiet. Slipped off the dock for a snorkel was easy and all the marine life was amazing. We had our kids and while our bed was very comfortable they had quite hard mattress they complained about. Concierge service was very friendly and helpful but they desperately need a ferry/airport shuttle service. Plenty of water related activities to fill your days. Food was good but menu options are limited if you are staying more than a couple of days. There are close-by restaurant options and again the concierge service was very helpful in arranging the details. While I like smaller resorts for leisure, I would definitely stay here again.

Our room was amazing and we loved the pool and beach area. We found that a lot of the staff was somewhat rude. Even something as simple as asking for coffee that was actually hot seemed to be such a burden to them. Also we called the from desk and asked if there was a charge to use the bikes. The guy we spoke to said no that we just needed to check with concierge to get a key to the lock. When we tried this the guy practically laughed at us and said of course theres a charge. We said ok never mind today then. He called the manager out with accomplished nothing. I didnt need a free bike but all the staff should understand what the rules are. Overall a good experience. Im ot sure I would ever actually go back to Moorea but that has nothing to do with the intercontinental.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by BEVERLITZA WONDERFUL EXPERIENCE!
The worst part of our experience was the arrival. We are not young so it was painful to have to wait from 9:00 AM until almost 2:00 PM to check in, especially after 1 1/2 days without sleep!
We understood that the hotel was full and had a big turnover that day ... The front desk personnel were very welcoming and really seemed to care ... And for that, we are recommending one on them for a "Mauruuru Hospitality Award" in Papeete. Looking back, I find this amusing ... Of all the nice people we met on our 10 day vacation, we are nominating someone from our least happy part of the trip!
We loved our beach bungalow and the fact that there were so many Polynesians employed. The meals were very good (much better than the expensive resort we stayed at in Bora Bora)! Your gift shop was better too ... I regret not having purchased all of my gifts there.
Thank you for the great memories!

If you like attractions, this is the place to go in Moorea. It has the dolphin center, turtle center, shark and ray feeding activity, jet ski rentals, free kayaks for 2 hours, nice swimming pool, a lady who sells pareos which you can design, and more. Personally I am not into most of that stuff but I was very satisfied with my over water bungalow and the snorkeling. My room was on the very far east end and during my stay I saw reef sharks, sting rays, and turtles while snorkeling. This is because there is a deep channel in this area. At first I wished I had one of the more idyllic bungalows over the shalllow clear waters but later on I realized that our room was more private and had better snorkeling. The ambassador program really paid off for me and I was very, very satisfied.

This Hotel is one of the AMAZING PLACES on Earth! The only thing that I would improve, if I had the power to do so, is enhance the snorkeling off the Beach. But going out to the Motu for a picnic and snorkel is a perfect substitute.

The Intercontinental in Moorea offers incredible views among their bungalows. The staff is the absolute friendliest and always welcomes you with an "ia orana." The location was wonderful with water clear enough to sea to the bottom. I highly recommend this resort~it is guaranteed they have everything you need or may need.

I just got back from my honeymoon and we stayed at the Intercontinental Moorea. It is beautiful hotel and the location is excellent. I highly recommend it. Additionally, the hotel staff are great - they are very knowledgeable and suggest restaurants nearby versus trying to push guests to only stay in the hotel. The only reason I didn't give 5/5 for sleep quality is that the mattress was fairly firm.

As per the survey the vast majority of facilities are as would be expected, although this Hotel is around 25 years old it has been well maintained
The staff speak exceptional English / French
and were in general always available to help.
The only exception we felt during our stay that needed improvement was the pool area bar where we felt staff could have been more attentive and efficient.
We took advantage of several tours that were offered and were not disappointed by the results.
We would recommend this resort / hotel

Stayed for 5 nights for our honeymoon. Out room had a great view of the ocean and reef. We went snorkling and kayaking, it was free so we could do that as many times as we wanted to. Our room was next to the turtle clinic which was okay. It wad pretty noisy at times with children and adults talking right outside our toom as they would watch the turtles. We did enjoy the watching the sea turtles and we really did like our room. The food at the restaurants is honestly some of the worst meals we have had. For lunch and dinner service tended to be slow on the weekend. Our drinks were forgotten and we missed happy out because we were ignored for an hour. The food lacked flavor. My husband loves sea food but was disappointed at the food he tried. He even found hard plastic pieces in his gourmet dinner. Despite the issues with the food we had a good time. Moorea was a beautiful place to visit and the hotel offered a lot when it came to activities.

Had an amazing stay at this resort. We have three kids, ages 17, 5 and 3 and stayed at two bungalows right next to each other. Overwater bungalow in this resort is not completely over water and only partially. So, I don't think there's much benefit of having overwater, but just my opinion. Our little ones loved the big pool nearby and playing in sand and snorkeling right out of the bungalow. Sting ray and sharks (feeding area) are close by, an easy kayak paddle away. We took 2 hour jet ski excursion that included stop at the ray

Beautiful grounds, lots of amenities. Paid for premium bungalow for privacy, had it compared to other bungalos, however, the amount of boat traffic constantly going by at less than 20 feet away from the balcony was very annoying. When 60 people on a boat can see and watch you laying out, it's quite uncomfortable. I paid for privacy and did not get that. I wouldn't pay that much when I can get the same experience for cheaper closer to North America.

Hello, I am a 23 Year old American girl who went on her Honeymoon a week ago to here. We were very blessed to save up and get some help from my parents to afford this trip. So yes it is expensive (VERY expensive for a poor college student newlywed) BUT this resort was amazing. We did a lot of research before choosing a resort and location for our Honeymoon. We made the right choice. We stayed in a deluxe over water bungalow for 6 nights and enjoyed every single one of them. We were greeted so sweetly, given a drink and options for travel recovery when our room wasn't ready quite yet (understandable since we arrived at the like 7am#. Our view was astonishing. Of course it was winter there so it wasn't super crowded which we LOVED! The water would get a tiny bit choppy outside our room but only during the middle of the day a couple of days. The restaurants were of course expensive, but worth the price. Each dish was delicious. My husband and I knew they were large portions so we were even able to split one meal and save half the money. The employees were sooooo kind. We received a full bottle of champagne in our room to congratulate us, such a kind gesture. We don't drink so we had to refuse, but then they were nice enough to bring us a full jug of Juice instead #delicious#. The Pool area and beach area are impeccable and so clean. We did find a lizard and 2 droppings in our room, but we really didn't mind so much. I mean we are in the middle of a tropical island, we were expecting some wild random critters. The front desk was always very helpful, and I was impressed that they would bring out bags to our room and let us ride on the golf cart when arriving and leaving. The concierge was great booking 3 wonderful excursions, not too expensive. Of course the Dolphin expense was WAY too much, which was one I wanted to do sooo badly, but other than the that the expenses seemed understandable. We also weren't able to see the whales and they didn't mention when booking that the whales hadn't arrived yet which would of been nice to know before, but the rest of the excursion #rays, dolphins, sharks, Lunch) was great. The Tiki Village night was great! And booking the Bug Go Kart type car was so much fun to rent and see the entire island. I highly recommend this amazing resort.

The Intercontinental Moorea is very beautiful, although a bit remote. It's hard to get a taste of the local culture, as the resort feels isolated. They make up for this somewhat by having local artists in the lobby almost every day. There are island tours that you can book too, but it's not like you can pop into any nearby towns easily. The staff is very friendly, the over water bungalows are excellent. Note that a lot of guests had children with them. You may not want to go to the dinner buffets if you're looking for a quiet night with your sweetheart.
