Comfortable spacious room, good food and great staff all made for a great stay when we got to Muscat. Excellent facilities and well located for the start of a memorable break.

Our week-long stay was absolutely perfect, friendly and knowledgeable staff, great food and fantastic garden and pools. Perfect base for visiting Muscat and beautiful surroundings. I consider it the best hotel in Muscat.

This is a very nice hotel with excellent service. The only negatives to be said were that the bathtub/shower tile needed some grout cleaning and the cost of food.

Spent again a week in this hotel. Had a very good time.
Location is great. Direct access to the public, relatively quiet beach. Hotel has a nice big garden with palm trees and several swimming pools. Friendly staff and good service in club lounge.
I can surely recommend this hotel.

The beach, lawns, staff and facilities are absolutely TOP NOTCH!!
The rooms, interior and decor of this property are not at par with Intercon hotels worldwide. Extremely dated rooms with old fitted washrooms (borderline dirty), poor HVAC system (Noisy) and balcony doors that rattle during the night. The carpet too was not as clean as one expects an Intercon property to be. The value for money for THIS property was much below my expectations.

We enjoyed our stay at the hotel - nice central location and the staff especially Nadir at the reception desk and the older man at the concierge desk were very helpful.
The prices charged at the restaurants for breakfast, lunch and dinner are however very expensive. The prices charged for massages are also very expensive.

This hotel is really old and especially the bathroom looks more like in a 3-star hotel, at most. The outside area is really nice though, with great swimming pools and enormous green areas for childre to play. Also restaurants are surprisingly good, especially the Trader's Vic.
The service level, however, is not at all what should be expected from an InterContinental hotel. Although there is one good Concierge, the rest speak really poor English, and does everything wrong. They arranged a sightseeing trip for us in Muscat with a driver who couldn't speak a word of English, even though we specifically asked for a driver who could speak English. Lots and lots of issues like that. And when we brought the issues to their attention, they just shrug their shoulders. InterContinental, this just isn't good enough.

The comfort level of the rooms is good and the room servicing is excellent, some aspects of the decor and facilities need updating.
The staff are uniformly excellent from the reception, the IHG member desk, the concierge staff, the bar and restaurant staff and for a returning guest it feels like returning home.
I just want to specially mention Marianne in the club lounge for who nothing is too much trouble and knows what you want even before you do.
The only negative on my last visit was the food in the Musandam restaurant which I felt had dropped in quality and taste.
