Despite the late check in on the first day and busy schedule on the day of my stay at the hotel - the hotel was a comfortable place to relax , work and go about your routine when you travel.

The hotel needs serious renovation and as an Ambassador I wasn't impressed by the room upgrade and didn't have the promised fruit basket.

The staff on the 4th floor were wonderful! They were knowledgeable, helpful and made our stay very comfortable. The hotel's facilities are good and there is enough to keep everyone busy.

Original booking completely mishandled but after numerous phone calls and emails was corrected to our satisfaction but not without duress. At this point thought our 2 night stay would run without any further problems but I was wrong. Checkin went without a hitch and was handled very professionally by a very friendly receptionist. Upon entering our room we were exposed to a very hot room but on attempting to turn down air conditioner it immediately returned to its original hot temp. Access to balcony required a 12 month gym membership to open door. This was the same with both rooms booked. Balcony and ac problems. Cleanliness was perfect and all facilities including club lounge access fantastic. Breakfast staff exceptional. On checking out having paid our complete bills hours earlier and recon firmed when keys handed in were then approached by same receptionist as we're were leaving for airport saying we had not paid our bill which was a little embarrassing to say the least. On producing our receipts for total payment he had to concede we were not attempting to do a runner. Surely this scenario could have been avoided by firstly checking his own computer system or if confused getting a colleague to run through the account with him. There were no extras on the account to further add to his confusion. The receptionist who we paid our account to had no problems. Certainly left a nasty taste in our mouths and a reason for not choosing to stay there again.

I didnt think the shower was at all good. It was either too hot or too cold and temp couldnt be controlled.
Door to balcony locks from inside and I was actually locked on my balcony and had to be rescued. It is noted on the door, but a better solution would be to fix the doors so this doesnt happen.

The hotel is ideally suited for my purpose as a business visitor. Walks on the beach are a memorable experience, coffee shops and small restaurants are available within walking distance - enjoy am Omani ambience! However, the hotel restaurants are excellent - no doubt. Breakfast on the terrace - I love it, following a short warm-up in the well maintained pool! The staff is always very friendly and knowledgable, the airport only 20 min away.

It's so nice to leave the madness of Dubai behind to spend a relaxing weekend at the Intercontinental Muscat. It's like coming home with the sumptuous tropical gardens right by the beach, friendly staff and a choice of great food outlets. Hope to see you again soon.
