Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by ianmann A reliable place to stay in Nairobi
Everything was just as I want it - all there no fuss. The staff are very friendly and helpful. I was there for 16 days and had a consistent experience throughout. That is what I want when I am travelling.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by 81romeo Very poor IHG property.
Please avoid this property, everything is very poor, first of all cleanliness.
Rooms are very small and the furniture is quite old.
Club lounge is very small as well and very crowded.
No satellite TV, no in-room movies.
Insects running in the bathroom.
Brown water out of the shower.
Staff just does not care.

Once entering the hotel, the beautiful, classy and artwork of flowers takes your breath away. The "antique" green marble of the counters takes one back into history and the sincere hospitality of all the hotel staff, gives another meaning to "walking the extra mile". Nothing seems to be an effort, inconvenient or difficult. The friendly soft spoken highly professional staff is definitely the heartbeat of this hotel. The rooms is spacious, comfortable and beautifully decorated. The red roses in my room and in my bathroom made me feel equivalent to a queen.... Thank you for a most memorable stay.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by 43Diana70 For a high end hotel, needs some help.
We were looking forward to our stay at the Intercontinental in Nairobi, but there were so many glitches, not sure would recommend this hotel. The staff needs to be better educated. While they were extremely friendly, many mistakes were made that could have been corrected if the staff communicated better to the guests. Also, we were charged for four breakfasts one day, when we only, of course, had two. The other two breakfasts totaled over $100 and I caught the mistake as the staff just asked us to sign the bill. It took quite an effort to correct the error when it seemed so logical to us. Who eats four breakfasts? Staff were very nice, especially the servers in the Terrace Room, but they need more help in assisting guests.

Been going here for many years, very conveniently located in the center of Nairobi. Staff very friendly and efficient, even the maid remembers your name.
Ideal for business travelers.
Best security of any of the hotels, perhaps a bit of a prison from the outside with the tall metal gates, but I prefer it that way, feels safe.
Fantastic Indian restaurant down stairs.
Club Lounge is excellent and club rooms have everything you need in the room.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 My Review
Comfortable Bed, Good room amenities.
For a city like Nairobi, safety (especially for travelers) is a concern, the hotel's safety and security measures make you feel safe and secure.
Any one visiting you at the hotel will face a problem parking the car as the hotel is renting the parking spaces to other people and businesses. I was with someone who needed to park their car to join me for lunch at the hotel and it wasn't a convenient experience at all.
At check-in and Check-Out time there was no receptionist at the IHG Club Desk. At check-in that was not a problem as I was the only person at the reception, but on Check-Out, despite waiting and asking where the IHG Club receptionist is, no one showed up. I had to wait till the Queue of a tourists group have all checked out to be able to check out.
The Hotel House Keeping confused my Duty Free Bag (which had my used clothes) with a Laundry Bag and decided on their own to take it to Laundry Service. I got my things back at the end and the hotel canceled the Laundry Service charges, but I believe this shouldn't have happened in the first place.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by RH family A great start
Before starting a family safari we stayed in the Nairobi Intercontinental Hotel for 3 nights.
From beginning to end the staff were brilliant - really helpful and nothing was too much trouble. When we needed help to find places to eat in the evening the concierge was great - recommending and booking the restaurant and arranging the taxis.
Security was excellent and we never once felt concerned. As it is in the city centre we were able to take a walk around the local area and the staff were very honest in recommending where to go and were we should be a little more careful.
We used the breakfast buffet and poolside bar both of which provided plenty of choice for a variety of tastes.
Overal we had a fantastic short stay and would recommend the hotel and staff very highly.
