The hotel was just what we needed before the long flight back to London. Room was what was expected of a five star hotel however the plug socket for the kettle had to be changed after it blew whilst trying to boil water for a well earned cup of tea.
When it came to dinning there was a choice of three restaurants/ eateries all serving from the same menu, I know that because I asked. Service in the restaurant was good but the food was not what I expected it would seem that what we ordered was an african take on a european dish! Yes I know we were in Kenya however if you advertise something on the menu and it turns out not to be what you expect then be prepared for some adverse comment.
Swimming pool is situated between an outdoor bar and the main restaurant, not good if you want a private swim.
Would I stay there again, yes but I would order a burger, looked more appetising.

I stayed at the Intercontinental during an international conference that took me to Kenya for the first time. I was very pleased with my overall stay and with the exceptional hospitality and professionalist of the staff. I would definitely recommend the hotel again for its location, variety of food options and wonderful atmostphere.

The hotel was welcoming, staff were pleasant and helpful. I enjoyed my room, the lounge, the restaurants and even the hotel taxi guys were extremely helpful. Very enjoyable stay in the heart of the city.

During my two-day stay in the hotel I had really excellent experience.
The good hospitality starts at the reception. The people at the reception are the types which make life easy. The service at the restaurant is the same. The bedroom is clean, big. bright along with its excellent internal facilities.When I write excellent repeatedly I am not being extravagant of the word but I am using it in its real sense.
Finally I want to mention that when we left in the morning to the air port the hotel prepared for us packed breakfasts to take with us in the mini-bus so that we will not be late by the traffic jam.

I have just had one of the best hotel experiences (if not the best) which I think is worth mentioning. Staying at the Nairobi Intercontinental was wonderful from every angle. The staff is the best staff I have ever encountered in a hotel... friendly, professional, knowledgeable. They make you want to stay longer. The service is impeccable. The rooms and the beds are spacious and comfortable. The food at the various outlets, delicious. I definitely recommend it!

Why would you wish to offer (and charge for) wifi when you know it will not work in the room I was given?
I had to request technical support (which of course was not effective), and then the duty manager to do something about this situation. He changed my room to one where wifi did work... and he seemed fully aware of the solution, suggesting he encountered this problem before.
So, is this a saga of good response from the manager to solve a problem, or the sage of unfair handling in the first place, trying to give me less than what I paid for?
We may have our different conclusions; but for the price, I can get alternatives in Nairobi that are less high-maintenance on me, and I do not think you wish me to consider the alternatives before booking the next time.

I stayed for 2 nights and my stay was quite comfortable. There was dedicated IHG Club check in counters--so check in and check out was quite fast. Rooms were spacious with good views. However the TV set looked like from the 70s and I request the hotel management to please upgrade the TV sets. Food was delicious at the Indian restaurant and I'd love to go back to this hotel just to have food again there.

Although, the GM of the hotel did initially call to understand my compliant. He promised to return with a resolution within 1 week - he never did !!
Poor after service ... I will not use this hotel again until the complaint is closed and neither will my team. We cant wait for the Kempinski to open up the road.
I think it time to look at other loyalty brands.

My overall experience of my stay was positive and the biggest contribution to this was the kindness of the staff, as well as efficiency of the check-in and check-out process
I want to point out some areas where there is room for improvement:
- First part of my stay was a conference type of event in the hotel. While quality of the food at lunch buffet was good I would have preferred some variation. 4 days in the row is a kind of boring.
- Although my room was clean and tidy, it needs some refurbishment. The only way to have a look at the small and old-fashioned TV was sitting on the bed, from the couch you couldn't see it. Especially the bathroom/bathroom mountings displayed its age
- I didn't expect that a hotel of this level did run out of Earl Grey tea over the weekend
- Could I have expected that staff would know my preference for Earl Grey first thing at breakfast with a 10 days stay?
- Ordering a cappuccino was a kind of a mission (timewise). At the lounge they had to get milk from somewhere which took (perceived) ages. While breakfast it seemed cappuccino was not available in the breakfast room but needed to get fetched from somewhere.
The Burgers at the pool bar were excellent, and so was the food in the Indian restaurant (should have gone there more often). And I did love the whole wheat croissants at breakfast.

The beds at the IC Hotel are by far the most comfortable of all hotels I've ever visited. The staff is also very friendly and go the extra mile when called upon. I will definitely recommend the IC hotels to any traveller.

Had a super stay. Loved the executive room, the attention to detail is impressive. Would definitely recommend the facility.
The staff were amazing, and having a toddler meant a number of requests here and there, cot, baby food etc and they attended to the requests with so much grace. Thank you Intercon staff, I forget the name of the guy at the dining!

The experience here at Inter-Continental Nairobi is great. Managers of Inter-Continentals in USA should send the guest relations managers here to see how to properly treat Royal Ambassador members. in Africa and Asia, Inter-Continentals are tops - would always stay in one but never again in the US.

I have stayed at the Intercontinental twice over the past six months. The professionalism of the staff and the attention to detail really sets the tone from the minute you enter the hotel. All of the staff are professional and friendly and make an effort to greet you with a smile. The facilities are well maintained with the terrace and outside area with the pool particularly pleasing on the eye. A good overall experience to be recommended to all.
