Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by A wonderful six days stay Thoroughly enjoyed my stay during a recent business trip to Nairobi. I had read some slightly disconcerting comments on TripAdvisor but I have to say none of them were reflected in the experience I had. This is a great hotel with a good selection of bars and restaurants. I particularly enjoyed the Makuti Bar and the massive TV screen!! The barbecue served there was excellent quality and great value for money. The room was excellent and I was thoroughly well looked after by attentive and so friendly staff. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Wonderful comfortable hotel Stayed at the Intercontinental three times this month. Wonderful rooms, comfortable bedding, nice staff, great bar. I would love to stay there again. Liked the main restaurant (good food, great service, incredible breakfast, best coffee), but I suggest you steer clear of the Indian restaurant. 23 January 2014

The staff simply did not meet either the standard set by the Crowne Plaza staff nor what I have experienced at ICH hotels worldwide. 10 January 2014
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Not at Intercon Standards Discourteous staff. No IHG rewards. Told the lounge was closed when it was actually open. Tried to enter and was refused. Extremely disappointed. I am Platinum Elite but not treated like it. Would not recommend. The Intercon location is good, but the rest of the experience is lacking. The restaurant did have a wonderful dinner buffet though. 10 January 2014

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Friendly staff get the top spot I had been frequenting InterCon, Kenya for a while now. The best part is the friendly staff with a big smile who does go an extra mile to make the stay a pleasant one. Good clean rooms with fresh fruits and flowers were always welcoming. However security protocols sometimes do get on to the nerve when VVIPs are around. I would recommend this hotel for both business and leisure. 19 December 2013

Food was great too, especially the evening buffet with a great choice of all types of food. No complaints and would definitely stay again. 16 December 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent and Healthy Breakfast and Important Security Measures I have stayed in your hotel I believe from the 4th to the 9th of December 2013. My reservation was made by my company. You were in the airport waiting fro me, even at 4 am in the morning. I arrived in the hotel at 5 am and I found a room reserved. AS I was leaving at 3 am in the morning you accepted to negotiate a rate that took into account half a rate for each half a night at arrival and departure and this is very appreciated. Thank you Mr Reception Manager. The rest was also a very good experience. I appreciated very much the breakfast and particularly the healthy and pure fruit juices. The rest of the food was varied and fresh. I have also appreciated the variety of season fruits available. The only drawback is that there is no fitness center (may be I have not seen it) and the swimming pool although heated is still cold in the morning or in the evening when I had time to swim. This is an added value but overall I liked the hotel and its comfort and the courtesy of the staff. . Thank you. 14 December 2013

Only downside was that the WiFi in my room was unusable but I understand that they are upgrading the system soon. 02 December 2013

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent, comfortable stay This is a comfortable, friendly hotel, with staff that are ready to help you with any need. Food was excellent and varied. Location is centric yet on a relatively quiet street in downtown Nairobi. My only suggestion would be to keep wifi simple, no need to sign-in every hour. All in all, a highly recommended hotel. 26 November 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Nice way to finish a great holiday We stayed in this property 3 times in the month of Oct. Each room was different. The only problem we had was the AC in the room did not work. We like it cool to sleep at night but unfortunately this was not possible. The room we were allocated on the last day was poor however when advised the staff bent over backwards to try to help us out. We were assigned a different room and one with a sliding patio door so we were able to open it at night and had a super sleep! Beds were extremely comfortable and pizza from the restaurant is the best we have ever had ANYWHERE! The hotel is older and is a little tired in places but the staff were incredible and made the stay enjoyable. 25 November 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Nice hotel, outdated TV I stayed in one of the new, updated rooms. The room was of a decent size, it had good lighting, and it was very comfortable overall. Also the hotel has good restaurants and staff is very atteitve. One problem though is that the TV was very small and very old. For a stay of over a week this may be an issue. 20 November 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good stay overall but work on service I had a memorable stay overall at intercontinental Nairobi. The rooms are very nice clean and comfy for the business and leisure traveller and full marks for that. Ok the TV could do with some tech update but at least it works. The meals were excellent and the new dishes everyday ensured that even after a week in the hotel, one wasn't fed up with the food. Gym is small but decent and I didn't have time to try the pool. The bad experience was at the Makuti bar on Friday where the orders took for ever and were messed up. Nice touch though by the Manager in fixing this and comping us when we complained. 20 November 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Highest quality of service... From my experience in travelling mostly around Africa, I would just say that this is one of the best stay ad service I have ever expereienced. Our was particularly touched by the professionalism of the staff ( almost all of them. Quality of food was excellent as well as sercive at the different restaurants. One litte thing, I would like to see corrected is the issues with the marble at the 4th floor, right by the lift. It seems to be not well fixed and needs some cares. Keep on doing the good job. We asked to be moved and the staff were apologetic and changed our room without hesitation. The concierge was very knowledgeable and friendly as were all the staff. We would recommend this hotel to other travellers to Nairobi. 11 November 2013
