Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 family holiday for kids under 6
we spent the second half of our week in Fiji at the Intercontinental as a luxury finish to our stay in Fiji. We stayed in a 2 bed pool suite on top of the hill in club land. when we arrived we were greeted with cool drinks and were told that room would not be available till 2 pm which was fair enough (we arrived at 12pm) . we left our bags and took our family of 3 kids 6,3,2 down to pool area via a buggy and had some lunch. when we got back at 2pm the room was still not ready but finally we got a room by 3pm. for a plunge pool suite it was very dark with no sun on pool so we requested a move. this was not possible till next day and whilst disappointed, we were impressed that the American manager came to our room to explain the situation and do what she could to move us. very courteous and professional.
The rest of our trip was fabulous including the glass bottom boat trip a few hundred metres off the shore on the last morning. food in club lounge breakfasts was excellent but they were a bit strict on kids even though ours were not noisy...yes really.
we would like to return next year in April but think an upstairs apartment with a view might be a better than the pool villas on the lower level as you don't use the pool much as it is so small and cold.
the rooms are enormous and very comfortable. the quality is as you would expect at Intercontinental and above other hotels we have stayed on in Denaru.

Coming to a resort like the Intercon Fiji, you have high expectations given the cost of the rooms etc and its overall high reputation.
We arrived at 5am in the morning having not slept a lot in the hellish overnight flight schedule, however outside a little hiccup re our room being clean, we were able to settle and get some much needed sleep.....we awoke and went exploring and found just a beautiful place, friendly staff and great food. We ate at all 3 restaurant's and despite reading some reviews that weren't so complementary, we found all 3 excellent with the staff service superbly patient and willing to please.
The location with a lagoon, little island, reef and fantastic resort design is stunning - the view from the club lounge as good as it gets.....
Internet speed is slow, however I guess the location plays its part in that.
Highly recommended place to unwind and enjoy a little piece of paradise.
Thank you to all those who looked after us.

Wonderful place, beautiful grounds, friendly staff. Tons of activities, but I felt that some of the rentals for water equipment should have been included in the price. Food and drinks were very good but felt it was a little high in price. The fish I caught was cooked to order by the chef and was exceptional. Loved the room; It felt very clean and comfortable. The Spa was amazing. My husband and I came to relax and revive ourselves and that is exactly what we did.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Traveller with kids Not a 5 star hotel!
We stayed at your hotel with 2 little kids for 10 nights in July.
The best part of our holidays was our nanny Milly then refer to her as Milly Single. She was very caring and beautiful person. Also the cuisine in your hotel was very good!
However we can't say this about rest of the facilities in your hotel.
- Housekeeping was very disappointing. Our bathrooms - showers have not been cleaned during the whole stay. The room were not cleaned as I would expect from 5 star hotel.
- Spa - we love going to spa when we are on holidays. I almost vomited when I saw how dirty the showers were in women's. I went to the steam room at 5.30pm and it stank! I had to leave!
- Kids swimming pool - how is it possible that 5 star resort which caters for kids doesn't have heated kids pool. The water was absolutely freezing, kids didn't want to go into the water, you could probably see couple of kids in the water as it was so cold.
Overall, very disappointing experience! We travel around the world every year, stay in 5 star resorts but your hotel doesn't rank as 5 star. The best part of the holidays were beautiful Fijian people.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Naomii Beautiful view but could have been better
The location and the view were absolutely fantastic however there were a few things that could have made our vacation better. I wished the check-in time could be shorter and the staff were more knowledgeable. The staff had to make calls to the manager for almost every question asked. We were then be told that we will have our room ready by 3pm so we went snorkel for a while. And the room was not ready and the staff explained to us that there is a VIP staying at the room we were given so we will have to wait. Apart from that, everything else seemed to be good.

The Intercontinental in Fiji was one of the nicer resorts that me and my wife have ever stayed at. We went for our honeymoon and were treated with such incredible service it was mind boggling. All the employees of the resort were smart, friendly and conversational. The facilities are top notch and great food too. Concierge very helpful, beautiful pools and beach. Highly recommend!

Dear Senior Management, whilst my wife and I enjoyed the accommodation and facilities it was mixed with extreme disappointment at a very simple request on my daughters birthday 24th July. We had arranged several days prior for a Birthday Cake and to be a able to sing happy birthday/blow out candles/ take some priceless photos. Went to dinner and after mains enquired if cake was ready. I was absolutely horrified and so upset to be told there was no candles and cake for her. Whilst I had an amazing time and service from the Golf Course staff the same cant be said for the Intercontinental Hotel. Only other request I made during our 7 night stay was for a bottle opener, took 3 phone calls and 45 minutes later it arrived as we headed for dinner.
For a venue that promotes itself 5 Star the above is not acceptable and shouldn't happen and I wont be recommending or returning, I might add that no one from Senior Management could be bothered dealing with my complaint/ extreme disappointment.

We had our Wedding at the Intercon Fiji Resourt and Spa. It totally exceeded our expectations! Blew us out of the water. Our wedding coordinator Jane treated us like royalty and we were blown away by her professionalism, her follow up and her efficiency in making our dream wedding a reality. All of our friends and family said that it was the best wedding they have ever been to and that they would definitely visit the resort again. If you are thinking about a wedding in Fiji, you have to do it at the Intercon. You will NOT be disappointed! It was magical and all of the staff involved from housekeeping to the wait staff in the Navo Restaurant were just amazing. Thank you so much!

Excellent resort, rooms and amenities. Only took us about 30 minutes by the pool to relax, after a big day of travel . Resort layout is great, and even at capacity doesn't feel overcrowded. The isolation generally means no resort hoppers, so you get to know the people around you well. Staff are very friendly with a warm "Bula!" every time you pass, especially to children. We enjoyed being a bit further out from the pools and restaurants, as it was a bit quieter and we loved being able to walk of meals.
Pity Intercontinental are pulling out of the Priority Privileges Card, as food is rather expensive. We were told we could still buy one through the internet by a staff, member, but lucky we checked with the concierge, as otherwise we would have wasted $300. They will still honor card membership if you have an existing one.
Sanasana is good for their buffet breakfast, but buffet dinner every night would get a bit monotonous. We ate most meals at Toba, which we found nicer and more cost effective. Great pizza and pasta, (even their Gluten Free options). A huge thank you to Miriama there, who made our meals most enjoyable. Our kids loved the special attention you payed them.
At low tide worth crossing to reef near Navo Island to snorkel and see amazing tropical fish. Snorkel boat trip goes out another 30m or so, but I had a 6 year old to snorkel with, so didn't want to go too deep. Watch out for rip though as quite strong.
Staff probably need to know hotel procedures a bit better. We were charged a couple of times for Filter coffee as part of the buffet and had to ask for refill coffee/sugar to our rooms quite a few times.
Overall a very pleasant trip, we will definitely be back.

My family had a wonderful holiday to celebrate my husbands birthday and it certainly didn't disappoint us, the location is the best we have stayed in Fiji (previously stayed at Shangri-La and Jean Michel Cousteau) loved the spa bath in the terrace, the room was very spacious, garden is beautiful. The only downside was the service at the restaurants (Sana Sana and Toba Grill) and i think it's because of school holidays but the Navo restaurant was divine, the food the service etc etc, especially on my husbands birthday dinner when we were given a complimentary bottle of an expensive wine and a cake (thanks to MASI (F & B mgr) for organising this, i was teary eyed when the staff at Navo restaurant sang a birthday song and a farewell song for us it made us feel really special. Our family enjoyed lazing at the enormous daybeds in Kama Lounge during sunset sipping pina colada and drinking beer whilst my 2 girls run around to play. And the massage i had at the Spa is heavenly, thank you Komal, the facilities are one of the best i have ever seen. Overall we had a fantastic holiday and yes i would recommend and stay at this property again.

This hotel is fabulous - a cut above anything else I've stayed in while in Fiji. The staff are excellent. It is expensive compared to other properties in Fiji but it is also more luxurious. The sound system is fantastic! The only downside is that there is a charge for un-motorised water sports which is unusual for Fiji and the price of the transfers when a tax is only $80 FJD but overall, highly recommended for a short luxurious break and a great place to use the Priority Privilege benefits.

This resort provides everything you expect, from concierge to food & beverage, the friendly staff and service is above and beyond the standard level of customer service. For this reason, we have chosen to return to this resort every year since opening 5 years ago.

Freezing pool disappointing, no doctor on site, food prices too high for portions and the spa was booked out the whole time we were there, we could not use it. The positives are the trio band was fantastic, the evening dances and kava tasting was great!

Stayed at the Intercontinental as part of a holiday in Fiji. Stunning setting and very relaxing. Was travelling with 3 teenage boys who loved the hotel and found plenty to do. One down side is the adult pool split where our family could swim. I would allow children from 14 upwards to use the adult pool. Especially frustrating when children over 12 are considered adults for the buffet. Also hotel charges $300 (Fijian dollars) for a private airport taxi, I would book your own local driver for $90 or less. The difference is too great. Overall fabulous and we will definitely return.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Diary Lovely staff not good value
The staff are lovely and helpful, I cannot fault them in terms of their eagerness to please. The kids Club is uninspiring. Looks like a sparse daycare. The twin beds in the rooms are small and you would expect a pillow menu at a 5 star resort- but all the pillows are the same- too big for the bed and extremely uncomfortable. The rooms service staff are hit and miss- even though there were 4 of us staying in the room sometimes you would only get 3 towels, or only some of the amenities would get replaced - for example the shampoo would almost be finished but they would replace everything EXCEPT the shampoo. You would expect that seeing you are paying top dollar they would include some of the non motorised sport activities such as hiring a kayak, but they charge for that. The ONLY reason I would come back to this hotel would be because of the beautiful beach. Also I am an IHG member but when I checked in no-one told me the benefits of this. It was only a courtesy call the next day where a lady told me what was included in my stay. One of the things I was told is that I could have a 2pm checkout and to confirm the day before. when I went to do this I was curtly told that they would only confirm on the day. Having 2 kids with me I need more notice than that. I was later able to get a 1pm checkout. I would only recommend staying at this hotel for the wonderful beach

Wonderful resort in the perfect setting. I have been to Fiji many times and this resort is simply the most outstanding hotel on the main island, I would recommend a few nights here before heading off to an outer island.

lovely staff, great buffets and generally a resort that we will come back to with our friends. we found early June the best time as it was only 40% occupied. During School holidays the families with kids take over, as one would expect.
The nearby Golf course is nothing short on sensational.

What a amazing holiday! Credit to your staff - Ema Rayasi (wedding co-ordinator) made our stay one to remember. My Mother and I visited the Intercontinental in June 2014 to view the property for my fiancé's and I upcoming wedding next year June 2015. Your resort is one of a kind. The ample amount of tranquil space, fine dining, professional staff and 5 star service, truly made our time the best holiday we have ever been on! The Intercon will be the chosen venue for our upcoming wedding. HEAVEN ON EARTH and DREAM WEDDING.
The adults pool is divine and pool staff were helpful! Navo Restaurant is a must! Lomana and Saula are a asset to your property, with wonderful service. Luke from Sports and Recreation was very knowledgeable and fun when on the snorkelling safari. The day spa is a must for anyone who wants to totally unwind and find their inner peace. Bedding was so comfortable too.
Rooms were very spacious and clean. Can not fault our stay.
WE WILL BE BACK and recommend this property to everyone!!! Thank you again. Shannon & Christine Thompson

We arrived to the sounds of the drum beating and received necklaces from concierge, our room was well appointed and clean and the restaurants were excellent.
My son loved the kids club and we had so much fun in the family pool. We enjoyed a spot of snorkelling as well. The evening entertainment before dinner was well prepared, what a spot to watch the sun go down!
The service was excellent; everyone we met was very caring and engaging.
Thank you for a wonderful InterContinental experience!
